Another good thing about the current Anambra State Government is that all Agencies, ministries, contracts are working... No ghosting. Even Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ARMA...has never been this proactive. 1 Like

onuman:Lagos Island has 2 functioning Seaport in her region Apapa and Lekki(old & new), other regions do not complain about it. Onitsha has dragged the Anambra International Cargo Airport to Onitsha region, and it's being referred to Onitsha Airport. So why do you think federal and state establishments that induce modern development will be located outside Owerri zone the capital city of Imo state? Have you ever seen any region or town in Rivers state complained over marginalisation by Port Harcourt city? 3 Likes |

Chikeluba25: MY PEOPLE, PLEASE LET US LEARN THE IMPORTANCE OF TREES. IF YOU CUT DOWN TREES, FIND SOMEWHERE TO PLANT THAT SAME TREE SPECIES IN THE SAME AREA. THEY HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE TO PLAY REGARDING OUR HEALTH AND THE ECO SYSTEM. I.E. IF YOU REMOVE A LINE OF TREE IN THE NAME OF ROAD, LINE THEM BACK UP AFTER YOU HAVE COLLECETED THE LAND REQUIRED. LET US TREAT OUR HOMELAND WITH SENSE. IT IS THE ONLY PLACE WE HAVE TO CALL HOME. IF THEY PURSUE YOU IN EUROPE, AMERICA, LAGOS AND GHANA SOUTH AFRICA AND NORTHERN NIGERIA, THAT IS WHERE YOU WILL END UP FINALLY. I SUPPORT STRUGGLE BECAUSE LIFE DEMANDS STRUGGLE BEFORE GAIN. BEFORE YOU ENTERED THIS WORLD YOUR MOTHER STRUGGLED IN LABOUR. SO, THAT I SUPPORT IPOB STRUGGLE DONT MEAN I;M AGAINST NIGERIA . IT MEANS I RECOGNIZE THAT, IT IS TIME TO GAIN AND THAT CAN ONLY COME AFTER THE STRUGGLE. LET'S GO! 3 Likes |

Chikeluba25: One of my interest points about Anambra State is Ogidi. A semi rural semi urban Ogidi during the 1990s is now a mega modern city. From Ogidi towards the NE side of Anambra state is ultramodern. The area from Awka down to Anambra south is receiving deserved touch by gov CC Soludo. That's how a state moves with uniform development. 2 Likes |

ONITSHA AND ASABA COMMERCIAL MEGA CITY STATE OF ALAIGBO, WITH MAYBE 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENT WHEN COMPLETED. WE HAVE AWKA AS A CULTURAL CAPITAL, ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGAL DEPARTMENT OF ALAIGBO. NEXT GOV AFTER SOLUDO MUST CONTINUE THE ROAD PROJECT, WE NEED TO TAKE BUILDING ROAD VERY SERIOUSLY. PEOPLE ARE KNOCKING SOLUDO FOR DOING THE NEEDFUL. I COUNT SOLUDO EFFORT AS 8 YEARS, THE NEXT GOVERNOR AFTER HIM MUST BUILD EVEN MORE ROAD AND THE GOVERNOR AFTER THAT TOO. GOOD TECHNOLOGY ROAD THAT LAST 20 TO 50 YEARS. CEMENT, CONCREATE, IRON AND STEEL ROAD. WE NEED AT LEAST 20 YEARS SERIOUS MAJOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION ACROSS ANAMBRA STATE, ESPECIALLY IN THE KEY CITIES. 5 Likes |

irisher: Will you not stop disgracing yourself with your LIE of Imo state is developing only in Owerri area as planned by the colonial masters? There was a tiny difference in the levels of urban deevelopment between Owerri and Orlu when Imo state was created with Owerri as the capital. Even when Anambra people write here and display how most of Anambra state is developing into one mega city at nearly the same rate, you keep on telling that Imo state was created for modern development of only your Owerri zone. By the way, nobody from Owerri zone has any industry that employs up to 50 people in Owerri. All the funds to Imo state from federal allocations and subsidies to all the six tertiary education institutions and government parastatals in Imo state literally forced to be located in Owerri zone, circulate 95% in Owerri zone.
"You keep repeating the same thing and playing dumb to not understand my points". The roadmap development of Imo state started during British colonialism for Eastern region, Nigeria, which passes down to the present Imo state. The roadmap was not publicly and jointly drawn up by people from Orlu and Okigwe senatorial districts, rather it was done by the past ruling power which were not even from any of these zones you mentioned nor even native of Nigeria. There's no city in Lagos state that's more developed and viable than Lagos Island. Lagos Island was strategically planned to be the economic powerhouse of Lagos state and Western region the same way Onitsha was planned to be the economic powerhouse of Anambra state and Eastern region. The same people that made Hausa Fulani to become the ruling class in Nigeria thereby making other regions to cry over marginalisation. Now, ask yourself if this ruling class are more educated, more intelligent, more rich and industrious than the Igbo people. All these were planned by the colonial masters, it's not by the opinion of any of the indigenes of the States, thus, the opinion of an earthworm doesn't concern a python. You can't cry over the scars is permanent. Orlu state is a dead on arrival...it will never work. ] ------------------------- Bolded lines above. Nobody from the old Anambra State objected to cutting out to Imo state the oil-bearing area of the old East Central State when Imo and Anambra States were about to be created from the old East Central State. Do you think that Anambra people then didn't know that they would be losing the oil producing areas then if East Central State got divided into Anambra and Imo States? Bushman of primitive greed. You typify the mentality of the average man from Owerri zone. |

Mmm, really...? So you're actually claiming to be an Oil producing region in Imo state just to defraud some of the Anambra South communities that forever detested and rejected to be part of the proposed Orlu state.. For the best of my knowledge, the major Oil producing region in Imo state is Ohaji/Egbema. Ohaji is under Owerri zone not Orlu. Do you think Owerri will release Ohaji for Orlu state if your mere imaginable Orlu state happens to come to an existence which will never work. The representatives of Ozubulu, Ihiala LGA, Umunze, Uga, Umuchu, Ohaji(Imo) and the Abians communities have forever rejected to be part of Orlu state. 4 Likes |

onuman:Can you just look at your lies on the Bolded...it's just like saying there's no difference in Urban development between Nsuka and Enugu city(the old capital of Anambra state) when Enugu state was created. Despite Housing a federal University, Nsuka has forever been a typical village and is now a village compared to Enugu city, likewise Orlu to Owerri. I once discussed with one of my Nsuka friend and he complained on how...I guess, current Gov. Enugu state neglecting his hometown(Nsuka) from modern development to Enugu city despite coming from Nsuka, the same thing applies in Imo state. Every city has its roadmap to development and the roadmap must be maintained. Nobody from Orlu zone has an industry that employs up to 100 people in Imo state. We already know the real owners of money in Igboland, we don't dignify audio billionaires unlike Orlu folks. Owerri has the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Kanu Nwanko which there glory 's being felt by Super Eagles and Africa at large, but you cannot said so to Orlu. Meanwhile, we can go to Imo state thread to discuss more. 1 Like |

hammer567: Widening amawbia to ekwulobia is good initiative. Anambra is not a mega city but highly urbanized and requires good transpiration connectivity. I hope the current govt also establishes a joint rail initiative with Abia , Imo and Enugu to construct a rail line from Enugu - Awka - Onitsha - Owerri - Aba - Port Harcourt. 5 Likes |

Chikeluba25: One reason that I advocated for the scrapping of state ministry of works was because they neither patched the roads, streets or even small gutters. Every small repair on any street or gutter had to be a big contract to construction companies and at huge cost to the state . So the question about what the hundreds of salaried workers in the state ministry of works did was always a recurring anti-corruption question. The state ministry of works will watch a tiny pothole develop and will not patch it until the entire road collapses and the state is compelled to award a total reconstruction to a construction company! So what is their work if they cannot even patch a very small pothole? I’m so glad to see the state ministry of works patching something. No matter how small. At least it justifies the huge salaries budgeted every year for workers emoluments in the state ministry of works. 4 Likes |

cjrane: Very true but I blame the governor's. They politicize the ministry of works since it is responsible for the bulk of capital spending. They push projects through without feasibility, environmental assessment and proper design. They focus on short quick wins instead of long term large scale integrated infrastructure that outlasts them. Ministry of works that for last three years cannot fix the high traffic city road that leads to their ministry but are celebrating building low traffic street roads in anawbia. Incompetence has serious consequences. 2 Likes |

hammer567: I may disagree with you on your ipob stance but truly you’re making sense here Anambra stakeholders including those in APC don’t even want Apc to take over Anambra state not to talk of a chronic debtor like ifeanyi uba ruling us, it’s mission impossible. As usual, the dude is just wasting his time and money, most of his supporters are imolites and ndi Enugu, my joy is that most Anambra indigenes distance themselves from him including his Nnewi people After next governorship election, dude will retire from politics because I don’t think that he will win his senatorial seat again After prof Charles Soludo eight years, then it’s the turn of Anambra central of which I think it’s between Mark Okoye or Oby Ezekwesili, it then goes to Anambra north which everyone knows it will be Osita Chidioka, then back to south which I believe then will go to Val Ozigbo Ifeanyi Ubah will not see anything 2 Likes |

abuzz33: Anambra state might not be a “mega city” yet but it’s attending the status of a mega city gradually. It’s only Anambra state that has multiple cities in Ala Igbo, others have their capitals and maybe one city We don’t need a joint railway that connects other Igbo cities yet, for now a railway that will connects onitsha to awka to Nnewi and probably Ekwulobia will do for now, maybe in the long run we will now include other cities outside Anambra, let’s walk first before flying Btw, prof Charles Soludo is doing marvelously well in Anambra state infrastructural wise, dunno when he will flag off his ten storey 5star hotel and the railway connecting onitsha to awka, those two will forever be his legacy projects. 2 Likes |

abuzz33: I don't think the Ministry of Works was politicized; I believe we had governors who never ensured that workers did the jobs they were paid for. A competent governor would have questioned why the state government always had to hire road construction companies for even minor repairs or to merely open blocked gutters while there are people receiving salaries monthly as "Ministry of Works staff". The Commissioner of Works should be called out for dereliction of duty when these things are going wrong and could be quickly fixed by palliative measures. They will mark the bad portions and go to sleep indefinitely. It will always take them forever to react meaningfully to an emergency. Until the emergency becomes too late and beyond their capacity to handle. Watch the video below to see how the roads in Onitsha are rapidly deteriorating due to new potholes after the rains. These are potholes that could be quickly fixed now before they will require billions of naira to reconstruct the entire road. Do we need journalists to cry out before the state Ministry of Works mobilizes their team to open the gutters and perform patchwork? Of course, they will do nothing but demand their salaries. Meanwhile, the government will have to hire a road construction company to fix the roads or open the gutters. This is why I have very little sympathy for Nigerian civil servants when they are owed salaries. Most of them are guilty of dereliction of duty and why nothing works in the society. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eECMJ2EiJI&t=389s 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Honestly, I pity those that would be under the so-called Orlu state. If Orlu people could easily monopolize and dominate Imo state as big as it is, then one can only imagine what will happen in Orlu. That will be 100 years of slavery to those that will be lumped into the state. Orlu will control both the capital, the government and the resources. The best option that will be most suitable for everyone is Anioma state. Stop being selfish, my brother. onuman: 3 Likes |
