People really believe it’s their right to marry other spouses even though the person they are currently married to is unhappy about it?

Hmm

Coco, the Islamic religion is fully in support of polygamy which the wife is aware.
I am not a proponent of polygamy but methinks the wife's reaction is strange. That is never an excuse for abuse in any form.

Why are you concerned? He's a Muslim and has the right to marry more than one wife, what's wrong with that? he wasn't cheating on her with a side chic, he just want to marry.

I'm always amazed by this line of thought you people come up with to justify bullshiit, didn't he approach the woman for a relationship while married and dated her? Isn't that cheating on his wife with a side chick? How do you people reason sef undecided

Turkey is 100% Islamic country but polygamy is a crime there. Both foreigners and refugees.

You see this polygamy nonsense in third world countries. They will know Islam promotes 4 wives they cannot cater for. Very poor and wretched people that all they think about is sex and women subjugation.
Islamic right my foot.

Jarus can cater for a second wife and its permitted in Islam and not a crime in Nigeria.

Now tell me the whole purpose to your rants.

Only 2% of the world's population practice polygamy and majority are in Africa.
Few in middle east, then 3 or 4 Asian countries.

Narrow it down and you see it's the poor who are into it. When the mind is very dull, it breeds culture like this. We name it religion but it's culture. In Turkey, it's actually a crime to marry a second wife.
That was a very powerful empire with numerous wives for the emperors but if you watch the rise and fall of turkish empire, you will see that polygamy destroyed that empire. Not surprised they banned polygamy.
Nigerian Muslims know better than them.
They are richer and smarter too.

It's not about cater.
Turkish emperors, can't they cater for their wives?
World's most powerful emperors at that time.
So what happened?
Why did polygamy become a crime?
It's not the money.
Buhari, babangida, abacha, name them had one wives each, don't they have money?
Is there something they know you didn't know?
The poor man and his ways are like a comedy show to the rich.
They live to entertain them

We in the great empire of Nigeria don't care about Turkey or the Turkish empire. Totally irrelevant to this discussion and I am surprised how you are able to find a nexus where none exist.

Laws and practices in Turkey hold zero relevance to Nigeria or Islam as a religion.

You see my argument?

Now is polygamy permitted in Islam or no?

Secondly, is polygamy a crime in Nigeria or not?

The third is a neccessary but not a sufficient condition for polygamy, is Jarus able to cater for his family including the new wife?

Answers to the above three questions are most relevant when we talk about issues in this thread and not what happens/happed in Turkey.

This is quite sad. Both Jarus and his wife are wrong.

Jarus should have resisted the temptation to beat her up regardless of his frustrations. Now his hard-earned reputation is at stake.

His wife is also wrong for attacking him physically by kneeling on his neck based on twitter narrations which is also domestic abuse. Also she should not have gone fetish on him with evidence all around in her room.

I'm also quite shocked at his naivety. How do you admit by own self to commit domestic abuse on twitter of all places? Even if you think your religion gives you a cover for that, silence would have been golden in such instance.

Jarus really fall hand. But it is hard to ignore his extremely positive and value adding contributions to Nigerian youths and the professional career and business space. I guess his massive social credit should give him some soft landing cos in the end this is just a stumble. It does not define the blessing he has been for over 15 years.

Several notable personalities in Nigeria have been polygamous without any issues and some are even Christians. Nobody asks them why they want another woman.

Jarus is a well-known devout Muslim. Not sure why anyone would question his decision to go polygamous.

That's very terrible then. Hopefully, they don't focus on who's right or wrong but on what's good for the family.
We already have lots of broken homes already leading majorly to a dysfunctional society. This home shouldn't be added to the list.

Marriage is never a do or die situation and it is just another social contract. The lady may opt for a divorce if it is no longer working.

Her next course of action is to target his source of income.

You just watch.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…. He better give her madt distance with her diabolical shi

See all the funds Oga was splashing, to those saying yen yen yen, money is not all a woman needs Let see her well her life goes when Oga Jarus turns off the tap. Let’s see how your own marriage goes without your husband providing.

Add all these funds, do you know the thousands of Nigerian woman ready to be in her position. Just dey play.

Any muslim lady marrying a Muslim man should already know it is religious rite to marry additional wives. I don’t know the reason for her tantrums, you no see road before you pass undecided

well the polygamy has started on a bad note with his wife going diabolical and him beating her afterwards. May God see him through in his polygamous journey.
