you claim to be a student of history yet you dont know the main reason for the withdrawal of IDF in the 2006 lebanon war, Idf would have finished off Hezbollah. Is the same reason Israel has refused to withdraw from Gaza even with international pressure, israel have learnt their lesson the hardway because Hezbollah have grown stronger with more soldiers and updated weapons.
