Better still renew the sub if you wish or get a 2nd hardware and sub on it.

If you have a good rapport with your flatmate or neighbour self na to just share sub 10k each and both of you get to enjoy the data. Where else can you get 500gb to 1tb data at 20k in 9ja.

I hope to try exceeding the 1tb usage just to confirm if the speed will be throttled for me as well.

The unlimited plan is sim card based and not router based. It's just that it comes with a new 5g router or this your router if buying new. Some unscrupulous airtel agents do sell the sim alone shaa. You cannot just insert any sim card just because you have a router and expect to sub the 20k plan. You must have the required sim card

I asked because I bought the router recently when I went for that 5 own and couldn't get it. Checked yesterday and found out the 20mb option is now available on my list of data bundles

This is the same problem I have. Tried putting my 4g sim in a 5g router and it didnt work. Called customer care amd they kept dribbling me around. Told me to go to their service center that my sim wud be upgraded there yet got there and those ones said its not possible and I have to buy a 5g sim.
I just want to be sure the speed here wit this router and the 5g own since there's no 5g here.

I paid for it and they should honor their agreement of unlimited data at 20mbps without FUP. The only reason i switched to airtel is that my other service provider gives me 15mbps for the same 20k and i use give or take 2tb monthly with no data throttling. Airtel has and forever been deceptive in their dealings

Perhaps it's not well configured with the right APN for mtn after cracking the airtel router.

Then most likely issue is with the crack/unlocking or configuration of the apn of the router. You could try another network sim to see if it works

Yes everything works fine
If I subscribe normal data to that SIM card it works
just the router data that is not working
