worse. In those days within 2 weeks you could resume factory jobs but today it may take you 2 to 6 months to get.

Customer service is no longer readily available I referred people to places like concentrix, HGS etc. these days they are not hiring.

Hello, kindly help with answers to these

which airlines is best in terms of traveling alone with 3 kids, 10 yrs and below.

Do’s and don’ts for smooth travel.

Which airline to avoid at all costs.

Which airline checks in bags to final destination. (I don’t want to have to struggle with luggage and kids at the same time)
Best days to search for flights, best way to get cheapest fares. Etc

1. KLM or Lufthansa

2. For smooth travel, just obey the air hostesses/instructions and ask them for help if you need help.

3. Avoid Egypt air, Turkish airlines, and Air Marroc at all cost, or else,,,,,,,,well, fill in the blank

4, Most airlines check in bags to final destination, just make sure you save your checked-in luggage receipts given to you, in case you need to file for baggage claim if your luggage goes missing.

5. Best days to get air tickets deals are Tuesdays, Wednesday and sometimes, weekends, but Wednesdays are for super deals

No matter how it is painted by bloggers, nobody ever painted that rent is $250 per month. In fact, 500 CAD/month is very very cheap around Toronto.
When they said you should have proof of fund, that's what they mean. How can you be lamenting sending money from Nigeria in just 2 months? What was his POF for? Anyway, it's very normal now for an international student to stay 6 months to 1 year in Canada without getting a job.
Best of luck!

But some people heartless in Canada. My brother was supposed to pay rent by June 30, and we're still trying to arrange the money to send to him as he's not working yet. Yesterday, July 7, his roommate threw him out and rented the room to another person who will move in the next day, in a shared bedroom... just a 7-day rent delay. That's terrible!!

Hehe... you call 7 days 'just'? What would you then consider a good delay... 6 months?
Perhaps, the roommate may have seen the signs and sensed that this would be an unending occurrence.

Hope he gets a place soon.

In canada, it's not "just". That 7-day, he should pay interest on top sef. You pay your rent on the first day or before. That's what he must have signed in his lease.

7 days delay in rent is too long in Canada.I think there's a misunderstanding about how bills payment work abroad. The roommate likely isn't the homeowner, and your brother's non-payment will impact him too. If rent isn't paid, the landlord may evict everyone. . In this case, the roommate asking your brother to leave for non-payment isn't unfair.it's not a village town hall; It's a rented share room, with payments due on a set date, just like the landlord's mortgage. Canada can be expensive, so students should prepare financially before arriving and be wary of agents or Hollywood movies that may paint an unrealistic picture. Life abroad isn't always easy; it's essential to be aware of the realities and getting a job as a student to pay your immediate bill in Canada is not guaranteed.you have to send your brother money to found alternative accommodation or he will be homeless on the street because even the homeless shelter are filled up and no bed space !!

Lol. You fail to fulfill an agreement you signed, you are given a full week of grace, you didn't meet up, probably not the first time, then you turn around and call another heartless. A lot of people don't understand how things work. For that rent to be paid, it means someone else would have to pay for him, or all of them are behind on rent - risking eviction. Who is to be called heartless here?

The terrible thing there is the mindset of entitlement and self-inflicted victim-hood.

the heartless person here is you guys that sent a young man to Canada without the Proof of funds showed during application. He was kicked out because the roommate doesn’t want to risk eviction notice from the landlord . Once the landlord notices the pattern he will serve them notice. Landlord has to pay mortgage and missing payments is trouble for him with the bank. He can seek help from any nearby Nigerian church .

depends on what accommodation you are seeking. Most landlords will only rent their 2-3 bedroom basement to a family of 4. Do you have a job offer? If not do you have 6 months rent? Most landlords will not lease to you in these times because they dont know when you will get a job ( if you dont have). If you dont have someone on ground that can serve as a guarantor it will be hard getting accommodation while in Nigeria.

You people complain about Nigeria. You still want to carry the behaviour to Canada and then call people who comform as heartless.

Look, the country you all are running to did not get to where it is by "Abeg" or "by the grace of God" as we always do here. It got there by hard work, grit, transparency, selflessness, and obedience to laid down rules and regulations. No one is heartless. It is your brother who would not pay his rent thereby placing other people who are going to rely on the rent to offset their mortgage, high interest rate and property tax.

Hello.

In case anyone is landing Calgary soon and needs a place, there is a room that would become available from July 15 in NW area close to transit and downtown. The rent includes utilities except for WiFi which is a small fee monthly. It’s a 3 bed flat and shared with 2 other Naija folks.

Anyone interested should quote me for more details.

The guy even tried for 7 days!!

Don't you know that late payment attracts an additional fee from Landlords here, you guys won't cease to amaze me LOL.

Exactly the roommate had seen the signs, and the signs were glaring the guy came to Canada without any funds!! Possibly a doctored POF.

I heard that students could get free / subsidised day care for the babies. Anyone with an idea or expertise of any such.

Rent is paid on or before the first day of the month abroad. 7 days is a very long grace period. Your brother should have been prepared financially before Japa.
