Michael547:Its what is ingrained in our consciousness. Lets say its a selfish streak all animals, including humans have. We love food, sex, money etc. So we try as much as possible to live to enjoy them |

Michael547: Excuse me! Why would you think such a thing unless you want to be selfish? Apart from the fact their dead body will polute the communal water, the reason they jump off the bridge might be one that affects one too, or that one can unselfishly resolve for others if one can and wants to, and that's worth being concerned about, I'd think. |

Michael547:Consciousness is the ability to be self aware. You can lose consciousness when knocked out. It starts the moment we are conceived but we are not aware of it til about 3 yrs |
