People need to do thanksgiving for surviving Buhari's government.
We shouldn't celebrate mediocrity.

You were making sense until u suggested Peter Obi as what Nigeria needs. Peter Obi may be young but he is like every other present day Nigerian politician out there with a crooked and wicked past waiting to grab power and enrich himself.

The best person to run this country today should be a professor from one of the top 10 public federal universities who has actually lectured in the classroom and has a distinguished record of public service not above 70 years or below 55 years.

And that person needs to come from the north cos it's mostly northern presidents that have shown a sense of compassion for the wellbeing of Nigerians in general given that they understand poverty and its effect on People as prevalent in the north

Peter Obi is a divisive religious bigot and a wicked capitalist. That's what his history and antecedents tells me. Most southern presidents are extremely wicked and corrupt.
northerners are the worst to ever lead this country unless you're been economical with the truth

But this bastard talking too has been a beneficiary of the gradual mutilation of the country by the likes of his father and ethnic men. Now that your father has fallen out of favour with the Southern President, you want to start war.
This one is just a fool! Even if Tinubu will not win 2nd term (which I pray he doesn't anyway), no be Atiku go win am. We all know who it is going to be!

Idiota. If your useless self want the best for Nigeria, you would be clamouring for return of regionalism.

Btw, Nigeria must return to regionalism. Regionalism was the best highlight of the country.

So just because he did not get what he hoped, he'll now start fighting Tinubu and you'll support him ba?

What do you think will happen if he get back into power again? Christians and Southerners use your head o. Don't follow the wrong crowd o

betshopagent:
northerners are the worst to ever lead this country unless you're been economical with the truth

Unfortunately history doesn't agree with you.

From 1999-2024 Nigeria has had

1. Obasanjo
2. Yaradua
3. Goodluck
4. Buhari
5. Tinubu

Despite getting Nigeria's debt written off, Obasanjo a southerner did not take the fight against corruption AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE serious. Instead, the agency for fighting corruption was used to only allegedly fight opposition politicians. Obasanjo laid a very weak foundation for the fight against corruption and today Nigeria is reaping the rewards. In addition, Obasanjo increased price of fuel, diesel and kerosene steadily and his regime pumped billions of Nigeria's money in Nigeria's refineries that till date are still dead all tanks to corruption. Obasanjo the strong man could have gotten the national assembly to pass a law prescribing death sentence for corrupt public officials and elected government officials to minimise corruption in Nigeria but no he did not. Today, the seed Obasanjo planted has matured and yielded fruit.

Yaradua a northerner did not last in office but his short stay was the only period since 1999 that brought about reduction in fuel price and removal of exploitative charges by banks dominated by capitalist crooks from southwest of Nigeria.

Next we got Jonathan, a southerner who supervised the most corrupt regime in Nigeria after Abacha. In fact Yar Adua's death was the zenith of Nigeria's progress since 1999. There was massive looting of state resources with little or no consequences, thanks to the weak foundation of anti corruption. Jonathan regime was so bad that sensible Nigerians thought the best thing to do is to vote him out... Unfortunately, given how polluted Nigeria's politics is, the only person available to defeat Jonathan was Buhari a northerner with no sound education. Again, while failing to remove subsidy despite massive gains from oil sales, Jonathan supervised gradual increase in price of fuel and diesel... Kerosene became super expensive under Jonathan a southerner. Inflation began to creep up, eroding the value of the Naira. Meanwhile Jonathan's cabinet and members of government where all swimming in luxury and wealth, most looted. This fueled the demand for a change of government and indirectly allowed it to happen.

Buhari a northerner came in and he too and members of his government continued from where Jonathan stopped. Looting and abuse of power across all levels of government. Despite pressure to remove subsidy, Buhari a northerner refused and explained in an interview with a foreign journalist that you can't ask him to remove subsidy when Nigeria wasn't a productive country. Perhaps he understood that inflation and suffering would be massive, so he continued to pay subsidy that would be looted by crooks and agents of corruption in Nigeria who have now settled with fangs on the blood of ordinary Nigerians to feast like vampire.

Tinubu, a southerner is now in office and the first thing he did is remove subsidy without blocking the various channels of corruption in Nigeria, thereby plunging 90% of Nigerians, the ordinary people into suffering and poverty. After removing subsidy Tinubu continued by introducing one tax after the other all in a bid to sniff life out of the people so he can rule with poverty.

So, from 1999 till date you will see a pattern of wickedness and insensitivity on the part of southern presidents in Nigeria. Most of them have this American capitalist mindsets but they do nothing about corruption, nepotism and tribalism. Unfortunately, putting capitalism and corruption, nepotism and tribalism in the same space is a recipe for disaster cos the capitalists in their insatiable greed and pursuit of self-interest will explore corruption, nepotism and tribalism to achieve their goals.

So, after Tinubu does this 4 years the best thing is to vote a northerner who is a professor and has lectured and has an unblemished public service record, or pair that northerner as vice with a southerner of same quality.

If Nigerians keep arguing to choose between Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi in 2027, we will end up with another disaster as president

Don't mind him. In developed countries it doesn't matter where a leader comes from, the main aim of governance is to benefit everyone.
But previous adminstration favoured their persons and laid the foundation for tribalistic style of governance.

I disagree. He gave a background story to how he arrived at the decision to support Tinubu and he specifically mentioned the MURIC man as the one who came to convince him in that regard. If he was lying, he wouldn't have mentioned any name not to talk of making such claim.
The fact is that he said it himself during consultations for the primaries that based on how Amaechi stood by him during his travails, the right person for him to support is Amaechi. If we do not remember anything else at least we remember Amaechi as governor driving him to and from DSS. It is also a known fact that he derided Tinubu from 2015-2019 when he famously went to Lagos after 2019 and spoke about how to defeat godfatherism.
So except you can explain the rationale why he dumped Amaechi whom he would have easily deputized for and gotten one step closer to the presidency for Tinubu whom he had little in common with, I think he was saying it as it was.
