Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has said the status quo on N250,000 as minimum wage stands.

While the Federal Government and Organised Private Sector agreed on N62,000, labour is insisting on N250,000.

President Bola Tinubu had said he needed time to consult with other stakeholders before sending the bill for the new minimum wage to National Assembly.

Speaking with State House Correspondents after he and other labour leaders met with President Tinubu, on Thursday, Ajaero said labour leaders went for discussion, not negotiation.

He said the meeting would continue next week.

After discussing for over an hour, labour leaders came out of the meeting with the President and told State House Correspondents that they would go back to the people and return to the presidential villa.

Trade Union Congress (TUC) President, Festus Osifo, said they discussed, and after explaining their position, the President also made his remarks.

He did not disclose details of the discussions of the meeting.

Nice one. They must reduce the cost of governance to meet up with the demand. The presidency and state government.

We are yet to do Kenyan style, hence the disrespect that this APC government is lashing on us.

Everything and anything is just okay by Nigerians.

Everybody is afraid. Nobody wants to die by making sacrifice myself included.

GBAM!!

You have summed it up perfectly . Once your leaders are not afraid of citizens then forget the country. The people will suffer and eat dust..
The celebrities they worship are working with the politicians.
Read up on old ussr and how Stalin crushed his people .

The youths in Nigeria re so stupid and senseless. They are poor wretched and hungry but only have energy to fight each other and abuse each other's tribes.

Very stupid nonsense people. This is why I will not ever give charity.

If the person likes let them or their child be dying they deserve what they are getting until they get sense and face these politicians

Do you think Wizkid or Davido are bothered even if fuel reaches 2k per liter ?

Even burna boy AY the comedian aalibaba etc have you heard any of them criticize thos government or talk about how you people are suffering because fuel is now over 1k?
No! Why? Because the government gave them N2 billion to share and called or entertainment grant

Both Labor and Tinubu are a huge problem to Nigeria and Nigerians....!

One is making unrealistic and idiotic demands, while the other is fooling around with silly policies that will continue to push the nation into economic oblivion.

This country is in BIG trouble! Deep shit!

Insist on reversal on all the anti people policies that he did

Start from reverse on Naira floating, subsidies removal until our refineries are working

Shut your mouth!!!

I used to support the government side on this minimum wage ISH, but I am fully with labor now...Ur bosses can't be enjoying luxurious life with billions of naira, yatchs, mansions & SUVs... while choking the masses with inflation, then say they most sacrifice to save the economy.

ITS EITHER EVERYBODY including the political elites learn austerity measures or let INFLATION scatter everything

Joe Ajaero and his friends are a bunch of unrealistic humans! Minimum wage should be 80k. If you don't like it, get a second stream of income. Nobody should depend on one source of income
