What's your speed like, you have a very clear view.

I assume that blank space is the equator line where SpaceX cant place satellites
I wonder why that blank space is showing though cos it wasn't like that at the beginning.

Here's a screenshot of advanced test done.

Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 3:37pm On Jul 12
That's Clark Belt.

Per FCC regulations, communication companies are not allowed to place satellites there. Everyone along the North of the equator like Nigeria gets that blank space. If you move the dish a thousand times, it won't disappear.

Yes, it's purely wifi6

My computer refused to see the networks until I did research and updated the wifi drivers
ibawon:

Do you get Wifi 6 with this?

Can you explain more?

Are you using an inverter with the 12volt battery and is it a soft hum that you hear?

I bought a solar panel but I noticed when I use it on my starlink I hear some news coming from my starlink router like it about to blow off. I usually off the router so it don’t burn off because of the noise. Please can anybody know why the sound is coming out from the router

What is the use of UNLIMITED when you can’t even download a 500KB image in 2 seconds?

Morning everyone
I'd appreciate help with these questions

1. I'm at Ojodu Lagos and I want a residential plan which is currently unavailable...is there any chance of switching plans whenever this becomes available?

2. Premised on the first question...Which is best - buying from Jumia or Konga and buying from Starlink themselves....the ones from Jumia/Konga, can I try out different locations to see if I'd find an available service address not too far from me when I get the device before settling on a plan or it's already locked to the roaming plan, because I understand that for buying from Starlink I need to register those addresses ahead first at the time of purchase

1. Yes

2. Buy from any but konga is more faster IMO. You can try other address before switching

My residential plan has been activated. I am still getting the same 20-60 mbp/s on speed test. The difference is that it is true to the speed test😂. As in when I download , download speed is the same unlike when I was on mobile and it was capping me at 500mbp/s to 1mbp/s

Now I don’t cry thinking why am I spending this money for this mediocre speeds

If you want same price as site, buy from Konga or Jumia. I bought mine from computer village at 460k with no account on it and I had no issues installing it myself.

Just checked though and it doesn't seem any of them have in stock, so I might have to resort to buying from the official starlink website

Konga and Jumai doesn't have in stock.
Also, I can't really buy from starlink except I select a location outside Lagos or select the roaming plan and place the order.
But I just noticed that the price is 300k if I select the roaming plan instead of 440k, does this suggest a difference in hardware? Because I'm surprised it's cheaper, and if that's the case why are people going ahead to buy the device at 440k, when there's no residential plan currently?

Please any recommendations for power backup that is reliable and cost effective?

I am looking to get a 50k bluegate ups or something in that range. I just need a reliable power backup for my starlink that can provide 1 hour of uptime only, but can do so consistently for a long time

I just need something for minor power interruptions. Rarely longer than 30 minutes. But long term reliability is my fear.

Any experienced person to give their take or recommended alternatives?

Got bluegate when I first bought my Starlink, it was almost N100k forgotten the capacity, I also needed something to hold the Starlink for no more than 30mins, the problem is that the bluegate life depletes with time, and a time will come when you would need more than 30mins. Eventually got a EcoFlow power station for N520k, 720W capacity, takes less than 1hour to charge to 100% and keeps the starlink powered for up to 12 hours. I actually contacted the manufacturer and was told I could use it like a UPS, so now I leave the starlink permanently plugged to the power station, and the power station plugged to a wall socket.

I don't think so.
But I just tried and it says not available for Nigeria.
So it means there's no place to buy now
