Oh heaven so what do you the govt to do? The North has chosen to hold Nigetians on ransome over food and now the govt want to stop this evil monopoly yet same people complaining food scarcity now fighting the govt move not to allow food to come in, Nigerians why are you these wicked to yourselves.

F u c k aAfdb shit wen people are shouting hunger what did Afdb shit do about it? Tinubu shoud never listen to anyone he should allow food to come in in surplus to shame Atiku and his gang who are using food scarcity to punish Nigeria simply they lost in election.

All this sabinus theory people... Oga come and live in nigeria and buy from our markets, see first hand the cost of daily items first before u give lecture.

The govt clearly said this is a short term measure.

Re: Food Importation May Destroy Nigeria’s Agric Sector – Akinwumi Adesina by Lumig: 7:51am On Jul 14
I beg to disagree sir. Importation will rather open room for price competition and give sense to our local producers that want to kill Nigerians with high price despite the help they constantly receive from the FG

The FG should embark on the food importation if that will solve acute shortage of food in nigeria. In Nigeria today farmers cannot go to farm any longer due to insecurity and fear of being murdered by enemies of the country. The chairman of African Development Bank should not discourage the government on this policy pls. Nigerians are not finding things easy this period. Thanks

Were we not importing food before and have things going very easy for us in this country?

These are some of the people benefiting from the current hardship Nigerians are facing.

Is there anything wrong with importing the quantity that will help reduce the food unavailability destroying the nation in the next few Months while we keep investing in agriculture and wait for our own to be enough to take care of our food needs?

I stopped reading half way.

The Bank Chief talks nothing.

It's not by telling me you have a PHD in this and that.

What has the Agricultural sector been doing when Nigeria have plunged into famine.

Even an agency of UN have said it that sooner than later, acute hunger will strike Nigeria due to food shortage.

Is it not happening?

State of emergency should be declared on food ASAP.

Re: Food Importation May Destroy Nigeria’s Agric Sector – Akinwumi Adesina by Dshocker(m): 7:55am On Jul 14
Let it destroy it already, as if the farmers are not inflating the cost of food.

Imagine in Edo state, where cassava stem is gotten for free, after planting and processed, it cost a bag just N1,000 to transport to Lagos, will be sold at ridiculous price, from N25,000 it used to be, to N80,000 for a 100kg

Food importation is better to destroy the agriculture sector of this country than for agriculture sector of this country to destroy it's citizens,do u know how many families can't feed ? Even if they agree to pay minimum wage of 1 million naira, how many people are employed in federal government, that is why am against any further increase in minimum wage this market people will also increase the price of goods which will make the masses more poorer ,this food hoarder are the ones making food prices go up by time we import they will be force to bring their store food out

Re: Food Importation May Destroy Nigeria’s Agric Sector – Akinwumi Adesina by epainos: 8:02am On Jul 14
Yes. The importation of food will damage the agricultural sector. A new set of cabals will be formed. See...the hunger coming will be too much. You all know who Tinubu is.

Biafra war was lost cos Igbos have no access to food. Tinubu knows the way to capture Nigeria is controlling food. His boys will control food. Listen, hunger is coming. Real hunger is coming. Mark my words. Real hunger is coming.

Start your garden today. This is the way to survive Nigeria. If you keep waiting for thisngovernement, you will be a causality in the great farmine coming.
