so, who bought the 12.8% shares? Probably buhari!!! They all manipulated the whole transaction at the expense of Nigerians and awarded the shares to themselves. This was their plan from the beginning. You can imagine tinubu gathered the top business men to form a committee seeking advice from them, how on earth will they give him quality advice when they are out here to enrich themselves. The refinery is a perfect example on why the committee wouldn't work, buhari used both nnpc and CBN funds to establish the place and manipulated the process to own shares. But it's all good.

I understand you can trade it on the NGX floor under the Board OTC and Symbol RR24ACCESS. I tried it on Morgan iTrade. I found the reserve price was 1kobo per share but no bids or offers. I thought for 1kobo per share it is not worth the hassle so I didn't proceed

I've tried this for Fidelity bank and Access on Lead Capital's LeadTrader app and got an error of not sufficient shares. I mailed them and they said I need to contact the registrars for verification before I can trade them. Has anyone been able to trade theirs? If yes, did you go through this process?

What a start to business. Sabotage, intrigue and all. Tony better get that his oilfield rolling to service Dangote oo. Oando is up, Aradel is running. I expect more investment(whenever we get them) in marginal field/operators to gear up production towards Dangote.

To think he's shopping for crude in the Americas is wild.

VFD Group: A Financial Goldmine or Value Trap for Investors?
VFD Group, a Nigerian conglomerate, has been making waves in the financial industry with its diverse portfolio and strategic investments. However, the question on every investor's mind is: Is VFD Group a financial goldmine or a value trap? I will delve into the company's financial performance, growth potential, and risk factors to help investors make an informed decision.

Financial Goldmine:
- Diversified portfolio across financial services, hospitality, real estate, and energy
- Strategic investments in emerging markets with high growth potential
- Impressive financial performance in recent years, with significant revenue growth and profit margins; however, in 2023, VFD Microfinance incurred significant losses, which impacted the group's financial reports, attributed to forex crisis. I believe this is a cover-up, considering the substantial profit in 2022. It is surprising that a company of this stature did not have a forex reserve, especially since a self investor like myself has maintained a domiciliary account with at least $15,000 balance since 2015/16 to hedge against unpredictable exchange rates. It appears that the directors appropriated the entire 2022 profit without considering the future, and later attributed the poor management to forex impact.

Value Trap:
- Limited liquidity in some investments, making it difficult for investors to exit
- High risk associated with emerging markets, susceptible to economic and political volatility
- Potential for significant volatility in financial performance, impacting investor returns

The management of VFD Group has not been transparent about the real reasons behind the 2023 losses.

To sum up, VFD Group presents a mixed bag for investors. While it offers promising growth potential and diversified investments, it also comes with significant risks. Investors must carefully evaluate their risk tolerance and investment goals before deciding whether VFD Group is a financial goldmine or value trap for them.

Disclosure:
I hold 10,000+ shares of VFD Group in my investment portfolio.

* If you want to top up and you have enough patience, do it.
* The only period loss was recorded, according to findings/news was 2023 fye when it was listed.
* Q1 2024 they were back in profit
* Hopefully Q2 will be good too
* As for liquidity, as soon as bonus issue is added and listed, I believed it will boost the liquidity because additional 1bn shares has been created
* VFDGROUP was listed at around 244 or so, and has been trading below the listed price shortly after since then, even at ex-bonus
* The Company is into many services including power, hospitality, Fintech, financial services, asset management, etc.
* They have an MM arm, which makes me Believe they know the rule of the game and can actually play it when they're ready or the time is right.
* Its currently selling @40.20/40.70 intraday, I think it cheap, trading at 52wks low......and if it goes lower from there, it can only present good bargain.
** This is just my opinion, only Mr. Time will throw more light on it if it's right or not.

You know that Dangote never does things in a hurry. Remember the talk of listing the cement business on London Stock Exchange? Or the purchase of Arsenal? For me when he says 2025 I add a couple of years.

There are NGX rules that guides this........
Shareholders' will be aware but I don't think they've got more to say about the sales......than to give approval I think.
SEC needs to give approval for such sales and also ensure is in the best interest of the shareholders.
You can go thru Rule 15.32 and the amendments thereafter (it has more pages than the screenshot)

Thanks Myc. We will see when TRANSPOWER gives out its shareholding structure.
