I wonder if the person who would be paid this by the FG has nothing to do in life and with his life just because he chose to be a civil servant still at this time of economic downfall...

If the NLC & TUC are applauding PBAT for this stipends to be paid as minimum wage then it's better they the NLC & TUC never again talk about workers welfare and strike ever again in. Nigeria. Nonsense and ingredients.

A federal worker please break it down

70k is the minimum for an officer of GL 01 step 1. Good enough, no FG worker is on GL 01 step 1 so nobody will be paid 70k at the Federal Level. The least worker on Federal Government payroll is on GL 04 step 1. A newly appointed fresh graduate is placed on GL 08 step 2 and with this new approval, that should attract nothing less than 150k for a fresh graduate.

Instead of trying to ridicule the effort of FG, you should be more concerned about how states like Abia and Anambra will be able to pay the new minimum wage since they are struggling with paying 30k at the moment.

If that is what the NLC settles for then all that is needed is for the civil servant to go to work once in a week.

Tell that to Otti still paying 15k.

Probably that’s why people are now eating from the dustbin in some part of the state like we saw in that video.

If Federal can get 70k, at least they can afford some Congo of rice. Abia workers don’t have such luxury coz they can’t even afford one bag of garri.

Some states like Lagos and Rivers even pay more than the minimum wage. The dead Abia State can do it too.

Oga! Minimum wage refers to the lowest hourly, daily, or monthly wage that an employer is legally required to pay to its employees. It is a government-mandated price floor for labor, aimed at ensuring that workers are paid a fair wage for their labor.

In other words, it's the lowest amount an employer can pay an employee for their work, and it's usually set by law or regulation. The purpose of minimum wage is to protect workers from exploitation and ensure they can afford a basic standard of living.

Minimum wage varies by country, state, or region, and it can change over time due to inflation, economic conditions, or political decisions. Some countries also have different minimum wages for different types of workers, such as students, apprentices, or part-time workers.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

There are still some organization still pay less than the minimum wage.
