My eyes saw shege yesterday. Police pack me and riders to station for the first time. Around 11pm, I pick this guys from ebutte meta to Ogba. I was just blowing real speed as I have to get home before 12. that was how we jammed polizia opposite Mega Chicken, after scaling thro a check point at Alausa. They’ve questioned themselves if anyone have load, best they lighten up as it seem polizia were in corners. Me I just face my steering and keep blazing. We got stopped and all man was asked to alight. They found what I don’t know with one of them. Interesting to say, how they just close check point immediately. No need for searching again. Bundle everyone to command beside Ikeja high court. I didn’t even say a word, I was so tired and my last trip is stressing me out like this. We got to the station and the next thing they ask was you “sabi u be Uber” Oya collect your money before they enter”.

I was like wetin una come carry me do here then. Took my money and didn’t even bother to pick any trip again.

it's always advisable to do hackney permit if you're driving on uber. it's very cheap and doesn't take more than 20mins to get. I have been in many situations where those useless VIO thought they've gotten me(as I normally don't give them the Hackney till they ask).

How much is the Hackney permit and how do I get it?

Changing the fuel pump itself won't fix your fuel guage on your instrument cluster but it will make your car throttle better. To fix your guage you need to either get a rewire to trace its wiring from fuel pump housing to the brainbox OR from brainbox to instrument cluster.

So know your definite issue before going for a fix in order not to waste money this hard times.

Pls what's the correlation BTW fuel pump and car throttle

Throttle forces fuel to move your car, fuel pump (as its name implies) supplies the fuel.
Picture it like this:
Car: I want to move....
Throttle: okay, you need fuel to move...
Fuel pump: Oya, take the fuel...
Hope you get now?

Much respect, boss.

I'm always amazed at some riders. ;DYou carry exhibit, you still crawl at night in a place like lagos ..
I thought weed makes one sharper. Cos sometimes those riders, I wonder if it's just plain stupidity or they just wish to pass the night in a police cell. cheesy

I was supposed to pick two guys at one hotel in surulere going to ketu, one street off ajiboye.
After delaying me for over 10mins.
One of them came out. Dreads all over, earrings on both ears. With a sling bag and he was puffing on obviously a weed stub.

I know police are usually on that route to enter ketu. I dont have that energy for police tagging me with some drug induced fellows. The moment the guy told me he's coming back grin.
I smiled , I engaged gear and moved.. I cancelled and tagged " not safe".
I could see the gateman in my rear view mirror frantically beckoning me to stop. The guy was calling me.. for where, I don't want stress untop 6k trip. ....

I want to put myself in the guy shoes, maybe he just don’t want to waste his money like that or no where to get another from last night. Whichever, he ended acting a f**l and needless drag. Drug is addictive, pray people don’t indulge in it.

Every year na... Yearly renewal
Lasdri maybe 4k or 5k yearly renewal. They do it in Ojodu now. U don't have to go to Oshodi.

You can deregister hackney anytime u feel u aren't using the car again for ehailing and want to stop renewing yearly. This u must do to avoid 20k fine for driving with expired hackney permit.

Brodaly, na this 20k fine I really no agree with. My Hackney expired 3 years ago and I've bn driving without it and I still renew papers without it, with no fine. It was just recently that I opened up to my guy what I do and he advised I do Hackney and when I paid, it was a year I paid. He said I would still have to pay for the 2 years......but no 20k fine. Told him...."payable when able/whenever"

The truth is, I've never been stopped for Hackney cos I don't even look like I do uber. Majority of my riders sit in front, except some few little olosho girls, who eventually sit in front when AC don't get to them cos I purposely decided not to increase it.

Correct, Hackney registration is not automated yet, it's not connected to vehicle license, u can do ur normal renewal without renewing Hackney, u can even skip years unlike vehicle license that u have to pay all arrears.
So the fining is not automatic like vehicle license, But there may come a day that one overzealous officer (Vio or lastma) may randomly snap ur number plate with that their machine and check the hackney system and see that u registered hackney in 2021 and haven't renewed and will register the fine for u. Or when they stop u in their check points on the road and confirm that u are doing ehailing and u don't have hackney, u will pay d fine.

Like u said, they don't suspect u will use ur type of car for ehailing, maybe that's why u have avoided the fine, but same can't be said for those that drive the trademark car of ehailing. Also if u go to different places inside mainland, u will encounter mad VIO operatives.

I will advise us all to check payvisdotng regularly for any fines on our vehicles or fleet so u either pay before they catch the car or avoid them completely. Cos the day they catch u; the stress, the embarrassment, the harassment, the time wasted can traumatize.
