August 1 Protest: Too Early, May Be Hijacked Like EndSARS - Governor Uzodinma by BeeBeeOoh(m): 5:59am On Jul 25
The Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma on Wednesday said it is too early for Nigerians to embark on a nationwide strike against President Bola Tinubu.

Uzodinma warned that the nationwide protest might be hijacked like that of EndSARS because the timing is wrong.

He spoke while addressing State House correspondents after meeting with President Tinubu alongside former senate president, Pius Anyim and his Ebonyi State counterpart Francis Nwifuru at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Uzodinma: “Democracy is about the opinion of the people and the protest is allowed in a democratic setting. Every protest must be reasonably conceived to be able to make political sense.

“I think it’s too early at this time in the life of this government for anybody to come out to say he wants to protest. First of all, there have not been any engagements where those who are sponsoring the protest were able to tell us the reasons for the protests.

“Secondly, given the global situation today and the insecurity in the country, we have a very fragile political environment that if not managed and protected very well, may collapse the entire country.

“So those who are going to protest; what is the reason for the protests? And if they have no reason for the protests, I think I’ll advise well-meaning Nigerians, citizens of this country who are making sacrifices, some of us have paid the supreme price for the existence of this country, we should guide our country very jealously.

“I think it is wrong time for anybody to do any protests, because the implication of doing that if care is not taken, is that it may be hijacked. Like the ENDSARS experience, where criminals now hijacked an innocently conceived agitation by young Nigerians.

“So this is another kind of temptation that I think those behind the protests have not been able to come out openly to say they’re behind it.”

why are politicians so worried ? if I was a governor that morning I will come out with my polo and joggers to join protest. follow them and move round providing top notch security? share bottled water and refreshments and finally receive them at govt house. I've realised that the masses feel happier when given the impression that their leaders value them.

It's not too early for you guys to renovate president's and vice president's residences
with billions of naira, buy batches, private jets, getting SUVs and other ludicrous entitlements while Nigerians could barely eat a day, due to terrible policies and decisions made by you politicians😂😂😂

Who take these people serious anyways

I no longer fault the politicians anymore tho, because I know there are some bastardsss that support and defend these wicked, demonic politicians sent from hell fire to torment Nigerians.

As terribly as Buhari was, there are still Nigerians hailing him, doing same for tinubu whom had even done worse than buhari is less than a year, those supporters are the people I now have issues with.

Leave politics aside, do you think Nigeria and Nigerians don't deserve better and more, a once robust country, once Africa's biggest economy, one of the most thriving economy in the world, all of these just about 19 years ago.

Nigerians were rated amongst the happiest people in the world few years ago, I believed Nigerians could do more if more was done to better the economy, with a good standard life of living, we are already blessed with natural resources, we have the population, what more was needed to be amongst the top 10 countries in the world??

Nigerians only needed human capacity development programs just like in China, south Korea, Japan, etc. these wicked nigerian leaders instead of developing nigerians by providing just the basic amenities, and an enabling environments to drive Nigerians greatness higher, they would rather loot the funds, and stash it away in those more developed countries Nigeria ought to be part of.

Imagine the builder of Lagos traveling to France for medical check ups regularly, such is the case of nigerians... These has been on for several years, now Nigerians want an end to this bad governance and someone things it's to early, ok how long should we wait, is it until we all died of hunger and starvation while you evil leaders feed fats

Anyone who's against ant protest seeking to end these bad governance is an enemy of Nigerians, Nigerians have the right to protest peacefully and demand for better changes.. however we know the history of these leaders sponsoring thugs to disrupt protest and make it look violent just to have a reason to kill you, 2020 still in our memory.

But these time around, NPF hopefully you know better and allow God use you, by restraining from shooting or arresting peaceful protesters, it's your job to ensure the protest is peaceful, and fishing out thugs but the irony is that these policemen who also suffer the same fate of this bad governance are the one coming in to do the dirty work, shoot, arrest, teargas, brutalize some or even kill few Nigerians

Why have the people refused to demand his immediate impeachment even with all the damning evidence that shows he has had a hand in the killings of his own people? Why? undecided

If you have shops, stores or supermarkets in Ikeja computer village, Surulere, Shoprite outlets etc, and you're supporting this protests, I'll advice you to think twice.
Some people never recovered from the effects of the 2020 edition.
Those that will be grateful affected are those that probably don't have any political bankrolling.

Suddenly all these governors and other people in power have become very jittery.
The senate has decided to go on recess till September, governors are doing emergency meeting at Abuja.

If you are doing well, why are you afraid of protest.

Nobody is scared of protest. Not even the President or the peasants on the streets.

All we want is peaceful protests. We know those behind this current one. There are recordings everywhere.

I learnt they've started entering night buses in preparation for their upcoming attacks.

They destroyed Southwest in 2020 and are planning season 2. NEVER AGAIN

Still very much available on the Internet are the words of Tinubu encouraging Nigerians that Buhari is the messiah the country needs prior to the election then. The confidence he displayed on the podium was enough to convince a chicken that hot water can never remove its feathers..

Mr president and his so called team today are shamelessly reminding Nigerians that Buhari whom they presented had handed over a wrecked economy to them to fix, not forgetting that in the process of trying to salvage the problem at the inauguration ceremony of the current administration, more salt were added to the injury on ground..

Today, the problem drains the common man to the marrow and while they live their lavish lifestyle, they are busy appealing for patience with no clue of transformative policies on ground.

Patience they want but same they can't give when Innoson vehicle was given to them and the many lot I can't mention..

Let's be truthful to ourselves, there is no more time for us to be taken for a ride.. Thank you

What of misguided and criminal minded citizens that are waiting for the right opportunity like this protest to loot other people's establishments?
Y'all can stay online to make different assertions, but those that have been victims of this endless mobs will always have flashbacks and think twice.
