stonemasonn: There have been repeated fuel scarcity since 1976, and we have lost a lot of refining capacity from 400000 In 1987 to 9200 In 2019, and ironically under buhari's boys, efforts were made to repair refineries But the issue is, why was there scarcity when buhari was not in charge ? Why did our refining capacity diminish from 1987-2019, when buhari was not in charge until the last 4 years? Either Buhari actually was running NIgeria from 1976 to date, or, quite simply, it is a matter of selling at a loss causing a lot of issues and issues as a result. At least I know I don't have scarcity of foodstuff, because the sellers still are allowed to sell at market price. Sell yam at N200 per tuber to help the poor, and scarcity results. Selling at a profit works, don't you think? IN the old soviet union, food subsidy was the thing. Result...massive scarcities of foodstuff, especially meat and bread, and empty shelves. Once Yeltish removed subsides...yes food was damm expensive, but by the year 2001, things have stablized Today in Moscow and Vladivostok and St Petersburg, you can buy your choice of bread and meat. NO scarcity, no subsidy. 5 Likes |

Usefulsense: There is dignity in labor and it depends on the labour. I don't believe that a cleaner is better than a regional manager. I feel like people travel to get a better life for their kids because Nigeria keeps getting harder. You won't be abel to give a good life to your kids as a cleaner RATHER you will do much better as a regional manager 1 Like 1 Share |

Let's all be patient with him and give him 15more years. He is gradually turning Nigeria into Eldorado . Indeed, we are very lucky to have Tinubu as our president. 2 Likes |

Vergovert: Just carry your gutter brain out of here, how does protest relate to supply of fuel, how many days will you protest and go back to you miserable abode. Will protest reduce price of fuel or supply fuel to depot. I think nairaland should be doing mental evaluation for people before coming on this platform |

No light, no fuel and no network. This Givt means these protesting youths. How do you protest without these? And if the youths back out, it is the end of any possible change in the way things are right now. And if the govt don't do anything, they are fvck.ed. Either way, both sides nor wan give up. 1 Like |

LagosPrince: The etymology of the world shut up... According to the Oxford English Dictionary, an early documented use, in 16th-century England, was a figurative one, meaning "to withhold one's money or kindness from a person." In 1840, the New Orleans Picayune printed the first known slang/imperative use of "shut up," when a reporter referred to an officer's demand The etymology of the word please Middle English: from Old French plaisir ‘to please’, from Latin placere . The etymology of the word you Old English ēow, accusative and dative of gē (see ye1), of West Germanic origin; related to Dutch u and German euch . During the 14th century you began to replace ye1, thou1, and thee; by the 17th century it had become the ordinary second person pronoun for any number and case. The Etymology of the word will Old English wyllan, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch willen, German wollen, from an Indo-European root shared by Latin velle ‘will, wish’. |

nairalanda1: Do you even know what you're saying? You're clamouring for 1800 per liter, you people are just wicked from the inside, trying to sound smart Do you know the impact of that price on d already inflated economy? You keep comparing with other countries, do they have d same inflation rate we have, is their currency as useless as ours? Setting price at 1800 is equivalent to mass murder, that's when you'll see d real revolution. 10 Likes 1 Share |

nairalanda1:Same old nonsense! Tinubu told us there is no more subsidy, what market cost are u still talking about?? When marketers start selling at 1800, price will get to 2800 within 6 months? Fuel was 500 when tinubu removed subsidy, how much is fuel now in less than a year? When Jonathan wanted to remove subsidy it was this very same Tinubu that led the protest, so what nonsense are u saying now?? How many times will Tinubu remove subsidy in less than 1 year? Do u know it is the poor masses not working for govt that are bearing the brunt of these decisions?? Marketers charging petrol at market cost is never the solution & scam! The system is corrupt period! |
