Sevilla is in the lower percentile of the LA Liga, which is equivalent to the EFL league 1 upper percentile, directly perpendicular to consistent dynamic mediocrity... Football is a short term career for context, below is the wage bill of Blackpool in EFL league one, compared with Sevilla, no one in the Sevilla team will make Derby county 11 in the championship... This just emotive populative bias grin

Sevilla are sure making a lot of Nigerian moves lately. Signed ejuke, nacho and also signed a deal with the Npfl on coaching of managers of youth teams in the league.

Every sensible organization knows that Nigeria is an untapped market for young signing’s

With players who have flair like Brazilian and as strong as France physically

Nff and the coaches have done a very poor job outside the continent

Imagine our academy will always be top 3 in any tourney outside the country

But we can’t put out a capable youth team because of bias that can compete

Her name was on list released by AFN and tweeted by making of Champion! So who removed her name? I do not want to believe her name was removed after the list was released! Something is fishy somewhere!

There are currently 2 rumours I have heard right now and none of it is borders on negligence.

Rumours 1:

Favour Ofili was among t a group of athletes that pulled out of the African Championship in Cameroon because of how shoddy the preparation was. The Douala competition was such a mess that most top athletes from Africa decided not to participate in protest even though they were in ground. The rumour is that the AFN alleged promised to punish Favour and other athletes like her who pulled out without their permission.

Rumour 2:

The technical department of the AFN decided without consulting the athletes to enter them for competitions they feel they are better placed to medal instead. Favour who qualified for 100, 200 and relay was entered only for 200 and relay. This decision was however not discussed nor communicated with her till she found out in Paris. It's important to note that Favour has literally been flying to competitions around the world after her return from injury just to meet up with the time requirement only for them to take a FIAT decision without the athletes input.

making of champions are not the official mouthpiece of the AFN. this list can be created by anyone that follows the activities of the Nigerian field and track team.

They didn't just come up with names out of thin air though. The list was released by the AFN, that isn't even in dispute. You can check other media sources and even the AFN website and you'll see same thing.

Releasing a list is not exactly the same as submitting it for entry.. Comments I'm seeing somewhere is that the AFN deliberately omitted her from the 100m so she can focus on the 200m and relay.. Either way you put it, this gross negligence on the part of the AFN... that was how thy failed to register the women 400m relay team for events that would have secured them qualification until the last minute at the African championship, which they won but couldn't meet the qualification mark.

There have been many great midfielders that have really brought joy to me while watching. Okocha, M. Laudrup, Zidane, Xavi, Scholes, Pirlo, Isco, David Silva, Xabi Alonso, Mikel Obi, Iniesta to mention a few.

However none ticked with me in the level of Thiago Alcantara. He was the perfect fit to my footballing mental orientation. Always believed he understood the game on another level.

When he announced his retirement, something he wrote impressed me. "I am going to share what I have learnt."

Impressive to know he is now a coach in Barcelona and working closely with Hansi Flick. Wishing them success and I hope Thiago Alcantara has a bright future.

I was so happy seeing him at the end of the Man City vs Barcelona game with Guardiola.

This Thiago Alcantara issue is one of my problems with many Nigerian players. Very few show love for the game and more focused on the money side.

Mikel Obi who I consider a genius when it comes to understanding the game is not showing any passion towards coaching. He should be doing courses and working in camps with young players. Okocha is break dancing for Bet King. Yobo is at least working with Rivers United but could be doing more.

Ndidi turned down the chance to work with Garcia Pimienta at Sevilla for more wages to stay with Steve Cooper.

I hope we see a change in this kind of attitude in our players.

Kevin De Bruyne has done some coaching badges. Same with Gundogan. I think Rodri is doing that and has gotten a Masters in Sports management. If you look deeper, you will see same drive in other players in Europe but not ours.

Ours want to make money and be big men in Nigeria.

And then there is Amunike with B.Sc, Masters, PhD, Doctorate, UEFA A, B, C, D, E license but has been out of job for a while now. It is so sad to see how passion for football is declining among Nigerian footballers.

At least Amunike has shown passion to learn. It would have been nice to have more with the passion to improve themselves.

I believe Amunike will land some good job soon.

Nice write, my bro!
Sincerely yours, I remember discussing Rumor 2 with a friend months ago when Ofili and Candice equaled the 150m World Record! The AFN tried to convince Ofili to run the 400m relay for us at the World Relay because one of the athletes had visa issues, but she refused. That her decision ultimately cost us the 4 by 400m women relay! She is very stubborn, which is why I think the AFN didn't keep her in the loop.

I remember expressing my concern about her running the 100m, given that she was struggling to beat American athletes who placed seventh at their trials. To me, it didn't make sense and seemed like a complete waste of time and energy. I suggested she focus on the 200m, where she is better suited. I even believe Ofili would be more suited to the 400m; she would be a beast at that distance.

Shockingly, this morning, Shericka also dropped out of the 100m to focus on the 200m. She's scared, lol! The federation knew Ofili is stubborn, which is why they kept the decision from her. Ofili should be thankful for that decision from the AFN.

The Minister of Sports released a statement hours ago that more or less throws rumour 2 out the window. The AFN also released a copy of the list they sent to the NOC that shows clearly favour listed for 100/200/4by100 relay.

We will obviously know more in the coming days.

I read a similar opinion from the X handle of sports broadcaster Temisan Okomi.

He said he spoke to an ex-Olympian who logically broke down the reason why Ofili might have been withdrawn from the 100M.

That said stubborn or no stubborn it wasn't the officials call to withdraw her without her input. They could have patiently explained to her the possible consequences of expending her energies in 3 events.

If after all this explanation she insists leave her be after all she worked hard to earn her place.

PS. The Sports Minister has hinted na NOC F-up. Someone should still be queried for this avoidable embarrassment.
