Okay y'all it's been long I posted here... well at times a little vacay is needed... but let's cut to the chase 😏

1.) Divorce In The Black --- 7.5/10

An intriguing and reflective movie about love, family, friendship, commitment, hope, second chance, toxic and abusive marriage, irresponsibility, dysfunctional family and its consequences.

Tyler Perry keeping up with his mandate of not just entertaining but passing across life impacting messages. One reason why his movies, especially his non Madea movies are a must watch for me.

2.) Deadpool And Wolverine --- 5/10

(Spoiler alert on this one)

A spectacular promising movie that morphed into a big let down. The comedy, R-ratedness, musical score, emotional weight, and actions were solid, but unfortunately the movie was cursed with a ridiculously stupid plot.

Okay, let's go over this;

** Why did Paradox choose to destroy the various universes?

** Why did he choose to save the heroes he chose (which he later sent to the void when they refused his proposal of joining the sacred timeline but instead chose to save their universes)?

** The anchor entity concept is just as silly as silly itself, like, how and why should the existence of a universe be based on the existence of a particular person? How does that make sense? Honestly, Marvel's multiverse theory is just balloney.

** Why were the Deadpool Corp seeking to kill Deadpool and Wolverine?

All these plot issues made the plot of the movie hogwash.

The movie was clearly an ode to fox universe and Ryan Reynolds literally told you don't take it too seriously just enjoy the ride but nooooo nitpicking is your calling, na why you didn't get value for your money.

I'm not sure you are supposed to analyze the plot of Deadpool and Wolverine.

Didn't the creators and actors say that audiences should forget about plot because that's not what the movie is brining? grin

They basically promised a brain-rot for plot with a simple comedy action flick

The man of the hour.
Superb chemistry him and Sydney had in ANYONE BUT YOU which helped propel the movie to worldwide appeal and sleeper hit. Highly anticipate a reunion.

The Fall Guy......6/10

Just an entertaining comedy ride all through. It's fun and nothing to really take seriously.
Having seen it I understand why audiences wasn't so interested in it and it ultimately flopped.

Snerting AKA Touch (2024)

"I hope you had a good life....

Nothing to complain about....."

This gripping romance drama is a fusion of Icelandic and Japanese cinema, so you already know it's going to be good.

The story unfolds in a non-linear fashion, spanning 51 years and culminating during the high-pressure days of the COVID-19 lockdown. It tells the tale of a man separated from his one true love simply because she is a "Hibakusha"β€”a Japanese term meaning "survivor of the bomb." While this might seem like a positive label, in post-World War II Japan, it became a slur. The term refers to survivors of the atomic bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima at the twilight of the war. These survivors were burdened with survivor's guilt and ostracized as outcasts, forbidden to love, to be loved, or to procreate for fear of giving birth to a "radioactive child."

Amidst this backdrop, the film chronicles the man's 51-year-long quest to see his one true love one last time. This bittersweet romantic story subtly reminds the audience, scene by scene, of the traumatic damage caused by atomic warfare during WWII. It asks whether such extreme measures were absolutely necessary, as the emotional toll of that singular decision continues to outweigh the immediate need to end the war at all costs.

All in all, the film reminds us of the importance of taking a breath, being present, and appreciating what we haveβ€”because it could all be gone in an instant.

A beautiful cinematic piece, and I'm always here to remind you all to watch
foreign-language films! More often than not, there's beauty within. 🌸 One of my favorite films of the year, and in a year littered with "stones," this stands out as a shining gem.

8/10.

We seem to have many of those kind of flicks these days...we regularly have to "turn off our brains" and just go with it these days 😩.

Films use to entertain us and also have purpose and meaning maan... sickening πŸ˜”

I've learned to wait for the mentally stimulating movies with deep meanings or realism for Q4 of the year.
As for autumn and summer, na for vibes and insha'Allah.

WowπŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ you've a lot to catch up on fall guy Ke?

Movies I watched this week:

1. Inside Out 2: this could definitely be in contention for my 5th best animated movie of all time. Very energetic and one of the best movies you could watch with a child of any age. Not as tearjerking as the first but fun all together. A classic Pixar movie - I hope they leave the woke bull shit and make a general movie - for every family
8.5/10

2. Despicable Me 4: the best despicable movie ever imo- no context - no plot - just moving pictures with a lot of colours
7.5/10

3. Trap: first half of this movie is excellent : the rest is meh - the dialogue is just so bland and NPCish like every Shyamalan movie.
6/10

4. Deadpool and Wolverine: shut off your brain and just enjoy this movie and you wont be disappointed. Fantastic action sequences- the cameos are cameoingπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but in some scenes have a lot of heart.
SPOILER: there's a scene that's so amazing and teardropping where Wolverine rants and says Deadpool is dumb and I loved that scene.
I'm definitely rewatching
9/10

Other movies I watched
Kill: 7/10
The BikeRiders: 7/10
The Sixth Sense: 10/10

Where are those people that said that Deadpool and Wolverine would not cross $800m? I thought the MCU is dead, whose watching this stuff? Even since DC's The Flash flopped whenever their fans hear the word "cameo" they always associate it with failure. $1b is not far off, I'll check in with y'all soon.

Lol the MCU has earned alot of good will in the past few years, if they bring in a good to average movie with big names they will always make money. Not all will be billions but it just won't flop. I mean even if its a bad movie like Thor love and thunder, because of the good will and established character they are more likely to make money.

DC on the other hand have lost alot of good will that a good or average movie from them now isn't guaranteed not to flop. I feel comparing both is unfair sha but the DC fans always love to jump on the woes of MCU so I do get urge to put them in their place grin grin

THE GOLDEN CHILD

Comedy and fantasy come into play as Eddie Murphy tries to save a precious child from perdition. It is crazy cos this was him at the height of Coming to America replicating his style against charles dance of GOT. Similar smile, similar expression, similar jokes.

This made me appreciate Game Of Thrones more. I fear we may never see something close to GOT ever again.
