I am doing a complete career switch i want to skip the Nigerian degree because it is irrelevant and it would be stressful and expensive to get the transcript. I want to provide only the most recent. Hi everyone please I have a question.

I am traveling to Canada this weekend on a student visa.

My course is a 2-year course (4 terms) and my first year tuition fee about $22k.

Also note that, according to my school, the first year tuition fee of $22k is the tuition fee for the first 3 terms (out of 4 terms) of my studies.

Now my issue is this, I have paid tuition for the first term (the school allows tuition paid on term by term basis). First term tuition fee is $9,826. I have my receipt and school statement of account.

I am writing to ask if I will have issues at POE because of this (I mean because I havent paid the entire first year tuition fee of $22k).

I am also going along with 6 month bank statements of my Naira account with a balance of 19.4m and a USD account of just $2k USD (both accounts have inflows and outflows in that 6 months period)

Do you think I will have any issues at POE for this reason?

common reasons- cant afford the tuition due to arrangee pof used for application, high cost of living, scarcity of job/ shift and inability to save.

Inability to get PR after expiration of post graduate work permit. Students in Canada right now are about 1.8m, total economic PR slots per year about 500k plus. Many wont be able to get PR.

Canada of pre covid is not the Canada of now as regards student visa/ ease of PR.

Even assylum seekers/Refugees are included in the 500,000 cap immigration level plan,so all program for PR is capped.
500k is not only economic Pr slot

I'm certain you won't have a problem because you haven't paid your full tuition. Just ensure that the documents you used in applying for your study visa matches with the one you'll show cbsa. Most especially your POF.

So sorry for the refusal

You need to check your budget to see if you can afford master's as most schools have increased tuition for master's courses, I am saying this because there are some few schools that take 2:2 for Master's admission but competition is high. Since you are travelling alone, you can still go for PGD but you will need to tackle it from a place of strength. Search how to request for GCMS notes on this thread and you will see it. Once you get your notes you can then reapply after tackling the reasons for refusal.

This is actually for GCMS notes via CBSA

- Go to Google, search ATIP
- Pick the first option from the list of results
- when the page opens, click on the next
- click/mark the privacy box and click continue
- on the next page, select Canada Border Services Agency from the drop-down
- from the next drop-down, select foreign national outside of Canada
- fill out your required information in the boxes below
(Use your Nigerian address and phone number please)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick a member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick an electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- in the comment box write a short intro and your request. Eg:
Hello/Hi
My name is SURNAME, First Second. I have applied for a study permit, my UCI is soso and my application number is soso, DOB. I would like to have the notes for my file
- then click continue
- also click continue on the next page(you don't fill anything here)
- you are taken to the final page where you review or edit your info
- check the I certify box and click continue
- you should receive a confirmation email from CBSA

Okay, understood. Thanks a lot. I have just requested for my GCMS notes. I’ll wait for it to come out to know the next step to take. However, I’m on my last semester for my admission since we couldn’t do May application due to my school’s delay in PAL. This means I have to apply for another admission.
