There are many things to use to criticize Onana and hype DDG. Penalty shootout is not one of them. I am more concerned about his soft hands and poor diving technique.

This is what I’m talking about. Performance was really good. A lapse in concentration and City created their best chance of the game. They also had Bernardo competing against Pellistri, an inexperienced right winger turned into a makeshift right back. The chances of that scenario happening in a match is like 1 out of 10.

Anyway, onto the season. Anticipating how things will turn out.

That wasn’t the first time Onana made that move. He did it severally in preseason but no one complained.

Had he caught Haaland’s penalty, the guys criticizing him today would be singing songs of adulation.

We paid 50m for a squad player whose job is to be a sub for our iron man captain who never gets subbed off. This squad player was our marquee signing of the window. Then we gave him the No7 shirt.
