Customs can't impound your vehicle, the only reason for that is when you don't have duty on vehicle also when u over under pay, but compromise is a good to go deal were by you'll be stopped for settlement nd nothing much more than 5k

Hold your 20-50k if you're lucky. The customs on the road know you paid compromised duty. They will collect their own settlement.

compromise is when you negotiate with customs valuation to give a reasonable duty fee to be paid to the FG account which is even the actual duty

Just like a particular vehicle ure clearing for 10 u negotiated for 5m with some token to get the value

The risk there is when traveling customs would check and confirm your paper but would demand for on duty money to let go
