It is better some statements are ignored. Twenty years is too long a time for anyone to predict.
Oando could pay dividend in a year or two; at most 3 years from now.

Transcorp
Same 10kobo that was paid for final earlier in the year dished out again today.
That is 20kobo has been earned this year for a stock that was available at N1 and below for quite a white. What a great turnaround.

Good point.

Equity is a subset of the firm.

Free cash flow firm will be higher than free cash flow equity.

Firm consists of the debt and equity portions of the capital

Equity consists of just the equity part.

Free cash flow firm is what is left to pay debt, dividends and reinvestment in the business

Free cash flow equity is what you have to pay dividends and reinvestment in the business.

To determine dividend safety and the company is not borrowing money to pay dividends. Free cash flow equity should be higher than the dividend declared.

As a matter of fact dividend declared should not be more than 80% of the free cash flow equity.

We also have free cash flow conversion rate. Meaning the percentage of the PAT that is converted to free cash flow. I prefer looking for 70% and above

Okay, but the formulas I gave you are from textbooks, not my own creation—I'm not that clever yet.

I’ve already read the first chapter of the book you posted last time. The author was discussing how market price and valuation price are different. The first chapter is basic stuff, but let's see what he reveals in the other chapters, although he tends to talk too much.

Different authors and their biases. I prefer being modest and conservative.

Warren Buffett doesn't use EBITDA, he won't add new loans to get his own free cash flow equity, rather he would subtract the finance cost paid during the business year from the free cash flow firm to get free cash flow equity.

Different strokes for different folks

The easy way, as you know I am a lazy guy.

Using fidson example, he would subtract capex from cash flow operations to get the free cash flow (firm).

For free cash flow (equity) he would subtract the finance cost or interest expenses for the year.

It is possible for a company that is growing and expanding to have a negative free cash flow, but the most important thing is the trend, are things getting better.

A business that has a robust free cash flow, can have a negative free cash flow once in a while, reason why it is good look at a 3 to 5 years trend

Guru in the house, please correct me if I am wrong. I am not a finance professional

Na una wey dey monitor stock price on a daily basis. You have bought a wonderful business at a good price, let Mr Time do his thing.

By the way Presco was around N10 during the crazy bull market of 2006, Oando was N90 then

You gauge a business performance over a period of 5 years and above.

The average business cycle is about 5 to 7 years.

Using an average of 6 years, it means Presco and Oando have experienced about 3 business cycles from 2006 till date.

United capital has experienced about 2 business cycles from 2014 till date.

YMcy56, you haven't accepted my proposal ooo, I 'm pleading right now with my magnificent 7 stocks wey I wan take snatch you from Oga Agba, I beg , make u know break my ❤️ ooooo.
You left b4 when u were Yarinya. na that time Oga Agba settled 4u, the thing be say Oga Agba is out of the market as the index no gree return to kilometer 52,000. Me I dey current 4 d market and na so so green the NGX and Magnificent 7 portfolios dey flash week in week out, 😅 😬
Just a joke, on a much more serious note, we recognise your contributions. Kindly stay with us. By now, I expected you to have grown a thick skin to NSEMPA trolling. It never moved me a bit. The chief stone thrower that silenced Chibuking82 here had to retreat at my catapulting stones.
Don't be discouraged, this is a faceless forum, and we all have different upbringings. The forum is invariably a reflection of individual backgrounds.
Despite this, one love ❤️ keeps us together. The endpoint is financial freedom. I remember years back when you had a strong view on Diamond Bank, and many forum participants opposed your views. You even published the screenshot of your Diamond Bank holding at the time. In the end, Diamond Bank was a goldmine for you, following the regulatory acquisition or merger with Access Bank. OANDO will come and go. Kindly stay here until I transfer the magnificent 7 stocks to you.
