It shares a border with Ukraine. The bridge is what links Kursk with other parts of Russia. Russia will now need air strikes to do anything in Kursk which could affect her citizens. It is a good strategy.

I think we have too many kids on NL. Sometimes if I just read their praise for Russia and continued defending of Putin's obvious blunder in Ukraine, I go just weak.
