Rolexxxy: Hey π€ 1. Your request for the 'Application Fee Waiver' was approved, but, unfortunately, you missed the notification email, because the international admissions office cannot lie. 2. Since you were able to submit your application with post-payment or application fee waiver options, then that means that the office will continue to treat your admission application, and tick your application fee as PAID. 3. Yes, keep checking your email as well as your application portal for update. They are certainly working on your application but remember, there are lots and lots of applicants like you they have to attend to, so keep checking, and be patient. Best Wishes π |

OyoTunjiUSA:Do i have to create a new account before i can access the new portal? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 5:05pm On Aug 27 |
Tonynatty: π€ 1. If you have scheduled an appointment with a date on the previous webpage, do not create another profile , just keep waiting for a notification email which will instruct and take you to new profile creation and how to continue. 2. If you are new without prior appointment date, then go ahead and create a new profile. Best Wishes π |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 5:25pm On Aug 27 |
Tonynatty: π€ 1. You are the only one that can attest to your honesty. USA embassy cannot lie or deceive you. Probably update is still going (check back) or you are not actually new. Call the helpline or be certain that you are doing something right. Best Wishes π |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Tonynatty: 5:35pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA:When you asked if I have scheduled an appointment with the previous web page, do you mean an active appointment or previous appointment made? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by yinkhar(f): 5:43pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: How do someone resolve the issue with user inactive please? The person created account but didnβt get the activation email/code. Now he canβt login because it keeps saying user inactive |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 6:07pm On Aug 27 |
Tonynatty: π€ 1. I mean an active appointment. If you have been scheduled to appear at the embassy say next month (September) before the update, all you have to do now is wait for email notification from the embassy. Do not create another profile . 2. The new rule says " You have to initiate application process on the website by signing up, choosing payment options and generate payment deposit slip (if payment in cash is chosen). Applicants have 3-days to pay MRV after generating the payment deposit slip. PS: You must sign up on the website , choose payment option before deciding MRV payment. Best Wishes π |

OyoTunjiUSA: Yes Iβve seen it. Thank you so much. Are you also registering? How do we go about proof of fund? If the school ask for $68,000. And if youβre going with your wife, everything is around $74,590 π |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 6:52pm On Aug 27 |
Shueld06: Hey π€ 1. No, i am not registering for now (though every one must still regain profile). I am just doing a voluntary exercise. 2. You will have to provide a financial/bank statement or other evidence of proof of funds in equivalent of your deficit to your host-institution before they can issue your Form I-20s (that is the agreement they signed with SEVIS - ascertaining that all admitted int-students displays sufficient funding sources). Best Wishes π |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hmm. I get it . Ok, how much does your own school ask you to bring as POF? Why is us school this expensive? Why r dy bill us dese type of money tho..if I have this Moni for account, will I pack am go US? Lol And can someone use many account statement and submit give them? Parent, my own account, my wifeβs business accounts, etc And can they approve a visa with a wife also giving that kind of deficit which the person will provide with account statement |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 7:16pm On Aug 27 |
Shueld06: π€ 1. USA higher institutions must be in Top-5 of the most generous towards international students, especially in juxtaposition with UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. 85% of USA institutions also does not require tuition deposits (some require spot deposit to cover courier fees) unlike the aforementioned. 2. If you have many funders , ask them to merge the resources and deposit it into your savings account. It's a risk combining funders (sponsors) because it shows that you are struggling for finances. USA consulars, when exhausted usually wants straight answers , and do not have time for brain teaser. 3. If both of you are qualified in satisfying the F1 requirements, yes why not ? Your VISAS will be granted. The major aspects to deal with is fundings, proving ties to Nigeria , future plans, and genuineness of purpose. Best Wishes π |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 7:48pm On Aug 27 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Thank you so much. Seems u knw hw dese things work My wife will be F-2. Wul u advise someone to go to the embassy with that huge deficit ( no scholarships) and itβs phd (they say there might be funding possibilities if I resume) and want to go with my wife. The initial cost is 68k, but when they add my wife itβs 74k or so |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 8:28pm On Aug 27 |
Shueld06: π€ 1. I will recommend that you stop the VISA applications. 2. No PhD student can survive the studentship without at least 65-75% of fundings , except if such student is a confirmed multi-millionaire with constant sources of income or comes from a wealthy family. 3. USA Consular officers will very likely (85% of the time) not grant an F1 VISA to a PhD applicant with no glaring evidences of available fundings from the Host-University. The fundings the University promised you, no matter how honest or certain it is , will not be taken serious by the consular, because it will be considered that your host University does not have a readily available fundings for you. 4. To support the sense 3 above, your professor or department themselves are expecting fundings (in the form of grants etc) , that is why they are promising you, but the organisation awarding the grants might delay, postpone or cancel the grant, and here is the grant your professor or department are banking upon in funding you, so, how will you survive if the grants they are expecting does not materialize? 5. Aside of the above analysis, even if you have the whole resources to fund yourself, it is still undermining (academically) for a PhD student to not have fundings , except if you have displayed a reacreational reasons for your PhD application. PS: While waiting for the promised fundings , keep sending more applications to other schools. Your VISA chances is 30/100, but it is not an impossible feat. Best Wishes π |

Moonlightq: Hey π€ 1. It's from AVITS Amentum (the newly introduced 3rd party company). They are probably updating, they will fix it. Situations like this should be expected of a newly introduced webpage that is servicing millions of visitors per hour π keep checking, they will fix it Best Wishes π |

OyoTunjiUSA:I'm always thrilled with your responses that are always perfect almost all the time. The request was approved and my portal was updated. I got the request approved on the 12th of this month but didn't know, I guess the notification email slipped through the cracks. My next question is this, do I stand a very high chance of securing admission given that my request for application fee waiver was approved? Just curious π |

Good day house, please i have an account already on the previous website, now i want to pay mrv fee and secure an appointment. Do I need to create a new account on the new website or should I try logging in the old one. Thank you |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 11:14am On Aug 28 |
Rolexxxy: π€ Thank You. 1. The application fee waiver approval only equals you to other students who have paid (the application fee) personally, and the major reason for the application fee payment is to assist the admissions office with the administrative costs ie files , stamps, electronic communications, etc and this is why it is non refundable. 2. By this very facts, only your academic credentials, ie references, SOP, Work experiences, CGPA, and standardized tests (if required) put together will determine the success rate of your admission application. 3. USA Universities operate equal opportunity for all. They do not want finance or financial hardship to deter outstanding students from achieving their academic goals (that is why your fee waiver was approved), but such student must still prove the academic prowess in academic credentials. Best Wishes π |

OyoTunjiUSA:Thank you once again. But don't feel overwhelmed with my questions. I applied for B. A English with concentration in Creative Writing My University CGPA is 3.62/5 I have excellent personal statement I have excellent Recommendation letter I have excellent extracurricular activities (particularly in leadership) and have presented certificates to prove that. In your opinion, do you think I stand a high chance of securing admission? Just curious π |
