I am sure you did not even read the article.

Your programmed tribalistic mind would never allow you to reason & think rationally.

The article is not talking about the Major Gideon Okar Coup of 1990 that attempted to depose the I.B.B regime, but rather the 1985 Coup that deposed the Buhari/Idiagbon regim.

Besides, if not that your Major Gideon Okar was as dumb & daft as the people (like yourself) who are still singing his praises, why would he ATTEMPT to crop out the Northern Region when Northern Military Officers also participated in the said Coup? Where was he expecting those Northern Military Officers to emigrate to?

It was that shortsightedness & nepotism that cost him his life - as those Northern Military Officers immediately switched allegiance and worked against Major Gideon Okar after he made his foolish announcement on the Radio.

The lesson here is; No Region in Nigeria can singlehandedly execute a successful Coup d’etat or impose a democratically elected President on the people (like your people who thought they could foist a certain OVERNIGHT MESSIAH on Nigerians) - without the active collaboration & participation of other Regions.

Lol

This unintelligent clowns and fools wrecked Nigeria beyond repair with their useless coups. That is why the US made sure their military was subordinate to civil authorities to prevent any rubbish so called coup, so much so their uniform chief of Army, Navy and Airforce all have civilian secretaries of Army Navy and Airforce as their boss making them purely ceremonial positions.

Mixed feelings. The truth remains that the socio economic situation of the khaki boys' time has made the so called Nigerian democracy a mockery, big joke. It's very difficult to dispute this reasoning. It's a fact!

Most of them performed better than our western puppets we have in democracy as leaders.

Noticed that majority of the thugs who planned the coup are northerners. They were the very first officers President Obasanjo got rid of upon becoming president. Majority of them also belong to the generation of coup plotters that ended the first republic and set this country back. It is difficult now to plot and execute a coup in Nigeria. Aso rock is a fortress, and we have so many radio and TV stations in Nigeria. Also, senior miliary rank is no longer dominated by the Northern military officers.

Pls ignored him he is a known nuisance here.

Bro that is how they love praising mediocre. As you mentioned about Major Okar dumb Coup, my own people have these stupid and strange mentality by wanting you on their side to fight your own people but they are not ready to be on anyone side to fight their own people honestly this mentality making me go craze sometime.

Imagine they want Vivour who could not speak a single Yoruba to become Lagos gpvetnor and still find a way to coined some Yoruba idiots into their ideology but in our own region(SE) we can never allow stranger to become ordinary market gateman takless of market leader.

Same way they successfully coined Edo into the ideology but when Edo needed them it's then my people will remember Edo are witches.

Pls ignore him bro. Let him go and read the article very well or he shoud keep quiet.

Mistake Shagari made in 1979 was not retiring this unintelligent clowns like Buhari, IBB and Abacha. Those one's Obasanjo retired were shocked when they brought their retirement letter to them in their office lol. They thought they were going to be hanging around to plan another useless future coup.

The coup was successful because of Idiagbon’s traveling for hajj, hence, it would’ve been bloody and fail.
Please enlighten us on the difference it would have made if he (Idiagbon) was present.

Till today, Ex- Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( rtd ) who later turned Civilian President of Nigeria is still pained deeply by the occurrences of the coup and the critical planners.

BUHARI FEELS BETRAYED MOSTLY BY BABANGIDA. A MILITARY GENERAL THAT HE HAD BROUGHT CLOSE HIMSELF.[b]

He is so bittered with General Ibrahim Babangida ( rtd ) the key planner of the military coup.

Being a fulani man, Buhari is known to keep malice in his mindset and it seems the enemity that he has developed towards Ibrahim Babangida will live with him till death.

That’s a successful coup well planned. The coup plotters took that into consideration.

He was a great leader however way you choose to paint it , the first leader I saw when my eyes opened to the world. Although I used to hear Idi Agbon and use to wonder what is beside the coconut.
Those that use to make noise are seated now, let see how easy it is to manage a great nation ....The DMI use to be popular in those days, i have one of their officer living on my street then , went back decades later couldn't find the house... Use to open all the cars in the neighborhood then with his son with our special keys .

Major General Buhari was removed without much wahala but in another turn of history, all the conspirators of that era suffered a lots of untold problems thereafter. Nigeria is a crazy country I swear. Imagine Babangida today a paralytic. Sometime when I walk the presidential drive way in Dodan Barracks, it simply instill an awe like IBB is still the president as back then.

That Dodan barracks at Obalende doesn't even look like a former presidential Villa . And pictures of the way it looks then don't exist.
