Can someone tell whoever is behind this policy to wake up and attend to the legitimate demand of the Doctors ? These men in power seem to be very carlous and wicked in their actions by each day. They have forgotten that when power is misused it can backfire upon power holders . They must do the needful by protecting the Doctors.

So because they want to practise, they shouldn't address their financial responsibilities while idiots with pea brains continue living large on people's commonwealth? FYI, a single doctor is by far more important to humanity than the whole of those illiterates parading themselves as lawmakers.

Annoyingly, the same set of donkeys are preparing to enact laws preventing doctors from travelling to where their services are valued. Why should a medical be battling to feed while some semi illiterates get paid several millions a month for going to sleep in the hallow chambers?
We are tired of this please go and learn medicine in the UK pay fees there and practice there....
Then strike when you know you have school debts to cover .....Most of you people are only taking advantage of the ignorant Nigerian people calling yourself valuable.,...
There are also International organization to control this madness many of of you are fond of embarking on ..... Very soon laws would be enacted both locally and internationally

Honestly this strike things are becoming irritating. Why must the first thing they think of as a union is to go on strike? Many of them have their own private ventures with terrible working condition for their staff. Do they strike at every disagreement?
I feel the national assembly should save the nation from all these unions always going on strike but still get paid eventually.
Their member was kidnapped. Kidnapping should end. Omo, how do U guys in Nigeria accommodate rubbish ? Imagine being kidnapped.
Nigerians are so cool Shaa. By now eh, them for don block national assembly gate. I hate these old men and women who are politicians.

No work no pay? It has never been implemented. Two years ago, Doctors were on strike for close to 3 months(2 months and 3weeks) and they were paid for the period they downed tools. Their colleague has been kidnapped for 8 months and you expect that they shouldn't speak up? Injury to one is injury to all

It's a somewhat controversial strike action by the time FG allows such precedent and other professionals do same across board then government decides to sanction such group(s).

Just imagine that criminals kidnap a police officer and the whole police officers force go on strike. How does that help their case?

NARD could have adopted a more sensible and matured approach to drawing attention to the unfortunate situation of their member instead of going on a nationwide strike. Is it that they don't have elders in the profession to guide them ni?

Criminals kidnap their member in Plateau state and while security agencies are on it, they are demanding that patients need to die across the country.

When she is now freed, will they bring back the dead or do they now want the blood and curses of the dead to be upon her head and that of her generations ni?

We'll laid out points.... As usual.

Nigerians are too sentimental. Most decide to leave the rope and grab at straws

If I had a work colleague that was kidnapped since January and the security or federal government have done nothing to save or rescue that colleague,I will down tools because what happened to my colleague could have happened to me!

How will the resident docs feel going back to work knowing fully well that they might just be the next victim of kidnapping?

What a country!

How much do you think a doctor pay as school fees in uk?
What others pay. What somebody studying English pays in the same university and nope, some families pay their kids tuition fees till the end. As the Dr progresses, he pays from his salary.
Drs in uk go on strike. Consultants were mostly on strike last year cum this year and it's for pay increase and better work condition not to talk of junoor drs. The same as nurses. The healthcare community campaigned and voted for Labour exclusively cos of that.

but this strike isn't about their welfare! The doctor in contention was kidnapped and NARD told government to get her back. Government says it's negotiating her release; NARD went on strike.

Insecurity. When you live in a federal government quarters and some horrible people come to kidnap you and FG can't do anything to rescue you after 8 months in captivity speaks volumes.

It used to be japaing for greener pastures but now it's japaing for safer pastures. Any Doctor you still see around presently is just because his/her japa money and documents never complete, at the rate at which they are leaving, very soon na yemkem and iya sulia herbal enterprises go dey treat everybody for here.
While your law makers will travel to UK to be attended by the same doctors they don't care about here.

Yes, he can pay from his salary if he want to be a specialist as he is already practicing while studying.

You talked about uk. I gave you fact and you deviated instead of accepting you misyarned.

Your takeaway is that drs pay the same as nurses, teachers, painters, actors, lawyers in first degree.

And as for paying back the tuition fee, you will hardly feel it as long as you work. If you make 3000 in a month, you will pay like 30 and its a long term thing. If you dont make a certain amount, nobody is deducting anything from you. So schooling in uk is literally free. Some students like medical students have bursary, those that have kids are paid, nhs pay them too. If you manage all the free money you get, you studied free. Also, you still have weekends and days you are free to go and make some money.
Uk govt spend a lot for their people to go to school every year and it runs in billions. That money is recouped from international students yearly. Tell your govt who always send their kids to uk schools to do better.

...Honestly, there might be no hope anymore for this nation!

And truly when you say no hope for Nigeria they will say you are saying negative things against your country. But let the truth be spoken as it is. THERE IS NO HOPE FOR NIGERIA. This is not a prayer but stating the obvious truth. Things are getting out of hands on daily basis and nothing seems to be working.

A lot of fools that have not cared to find out why they went on strike are here talking rubbish.
The strike is not about money but to force the hands of the govt and security agencies to ensure the release of their colleagues that have been kidnapped and still with their captors for months.
Some have been kidnapped right from their place of work and some on the road to official engagements and the government that employed them have done nothing to engage the captors to secure their release.
The strike is a nuisance till your loved one is kidnapped at his/her duty post and his/her employer/colleagues goes on with operations like nothing happened

Do you know how long it takes to train a Doctor in this country, the amount of time and resources that goes into it only to live in poverty feeding on respect of the populace. Seems like you don't have a medico in your family.

Year in year out inflation keeps catching up on this people....As for your information you only reeled out the pecks not the challenges that comes along with it ...
Nigeria is a Dead system trying to flog. Dead horse....
We've had enough this strike coming from only to System the University and Health for too long ....
They are already dealing with the University by asking students to apply for loans to study Medicine in Federal University no longer because of your Jamb scores ....
It would soon come to the health sector too they Ve had this issues too long
Things are going to change and get messier with Time ..
Like I said the reason for this nonsense is because of the Crazy System the elite class in Nigeria are taking for granted

In UK there are provision of basic amenities for the common man with a government that responds to the negotiations of organizations in charge of professionals rarely does it lead to strike but here it's a different ball game altogether even in policy making by the government, the governing bodies are not even consulted, they just wake up and invent useless policies aimed at trapping people.
