The cost for cng conversion is too steep. 1m plus .. that's a lot of money.

Moreover ,it takes a huge chunk of your trunk space. As a ehailing person, it puts you at a big disadvantage. Most airport riders usually have luggage.

As long as the "God is good, Ekeson, young shall grow, Agofure ,Peace n co" have not switched.
I wouldn't waste my time.

The question nobody has answered is" if you switch and few weeks later, cost of cng goes up ,
what will you do?.

As long as you can considerably recover your pms costs in ehailing, pms is still the preferred choice.

The scarcity of stations is a huge, very huge turn off

From CMS to Badagry, no station.

What if your car has a high combustion, or your gas is leaking? You'll lose cylinder and start carrying to to go and buy gas?

The scarcity of stations is why transporters won't touch it yet.

I don't go such routes, I have seen such location hit 11k on indrive atimes. If you hurry to pick trips, you will pick lower fares.

But luck.
I took from ikeja to unilag 8000 on indrive, went through Gbadaga, no traffic. Soft trip. From Finbars road to Agric ikorodu on indrive 11,300. From agric to Ogudu 5700 (low but I was rushing home). My vehicle is a 1.6l engine. Those trips I used 8ltrs fuel less than 5000. To cover the 3trips.

You see the variance in the prices.
Indrive atimes offers good rates, but few peeps are so quick to accept rides on indrive thereby going for cheaper rates. I rather stay where I am for hours than to pick low rate trips except I am in an hurry.

I might have made more on bolt but I resent bolt for suggesting location I don't like, not bren able to choose my preferred location and distance.
I made money eventually through indrive. I just don't go about driving through traffic.

Na you and others here no wan accept reality.

Tinubu... I will remove subsidy
Atiku.... I will remove subsidy
Obi.... I will remove subsidy

We all agreed with votes but not ready to face reality.
Did I support scarcity? Hell No!

But you can't be using increase in fuel price as a yardstick for failure of this government, I won't accept it.

What will happen to fuel price if subsidy is removed? It will go lower?

Let's look at other areas where Tinubu has failed.

1. He was quick to dabble into exchange rate, I think he should have taken it one at a time.

2. He's slow on the CNG thing. LASG should lead by example, 70% of BRT Buses should be running on CNG or electric so as to force down the price of transport

3. The government should properly digitalize the naira like USDT, input more players in p2p instead of banning crypto currency

I can go on and on but then...
olodo if them ask all of us we go say we sabi fvck but shey na all of us fit go same duration? I didn't vote obi I voted atiku but I can tell u only a wicked leader that doesn't care about his people that will remove subsidy on the 1st day without even having ministers. The subsidy self he was still paying it until recently I swear I dont even care who u voted for but if the policies aint right u should complain if not u b zombie thats how the North didn't complain during buhari time. All in all we go still meet for filling station

The government has to be transparent on the bolded. They need to tell us if there's subsidy on CNG now. Not that in future, they will do us the kerosene and cooking gas treatment.

Do you honestly think your baba will do that?

As cost effective and economical CNG is, how come known brands of cars do not make their products with it?

Toyota, Ford, etc do not make CNG cars for the market, despite the rise in Petrol prices.

More than 1m self.

Let's say, he uses 60k fuel weekly, that's 240k monthly and 8 months have passed in this year, that's 1.9m in 8 months just on fuel.

That fuel matter no really dey pain me cox we use it to make money but you see engine oil, that shit is going up every week, they now sell total 20w-50 for 22,400, I'm pretty sure it must have gone up to 25k like this.

Tinubu is a curse on us

How can you be bothered by engine oil? Service is monthly if you drive well. Fuel cost should remain tops in your cost input.

Exactly my fear. Anything that's not designed by a manufacturer and/or provision is not made for it, is a red flag. Make I no go lose my engine in a bid to save money.

What will he gain from lying about it? If he fails, it's a dent on his government and the people who believe in him will turn against him.

He's getting enough money (for the country) from moving away from petrol to green energy. What's the point in moving us from petrol to gas if it won't be cheaper forever?

We just need to know what we're getting ourselves into.

Follow trends, the world is moving to green energy. That's why Elon Musk tagged his electric vehicles (cars for the future).

Nigeria has not resolved electricity problem, also electric cars are expensive. We have gas in abundance which will equally reduce the CO2 we produce. It's a good option for a country like Nigeria.

Are you also aware that CNG is safer than petrol?

We were once using dpk, still we switch to cooking gas. Then, cooking gas was seen as a very dangerous matter. Today, you barely see anyone that uses dpk.

About taking huge chuck of the trunk? any load that can’t fit into the back sit, the rider should find alternative. Another trip will come, the main goal for me is to make profit.

I agree with you on cost going up, because political instability is one major issue in this country. Regardless, we still have to do what we have to do.

Boss if you buy half tank of pms for 22k, what’s the return you have in mind at least to see the hustle as profitable.

There's nothing like rush pick trip. You can't wait for hours for 1 in a million "golden trip" and you expect to meet target. Bolt is still far better than indrive. Just order on both app now(same location and same destination) and see the difference in price.

@pheelhip: that your 8k and 11k trip would be higher on bolt. Moreover you can now choose the trips you want on bolt. Reject as many as you want and accept the ones U want. Even if you deduct the 25%, the money left will still be more than indrive after their 10.76% deduction.

NB: I'm on comfort on both app

Let's do the maths .. an average driver uses 20-25 litres on a typical workday.
So there's a 6000- 7500 deficit to cover @ 300 extra markup if bought @ 920 per litre.

Mostly surge trips ( trips less than 8km) n long trips with minimal traffic will do the trick.
This strategy will work only on the Bolt app.
Its bound to fail on Indrive n particularly on Uber.
