Guess they said it’s almost immediately, have you been prompted to upload your i20?

Has anyone previously registered on the old visa appointment website been able to access the new website with their credentials? Also, if the embassy informs you that they'll be sending your passport to DHL, will you be getting a mail from DHL when the passport gets to them and how long does it usually take?

Good day please . I have applied for a new passport but my capturing is scheduled on the day of my visa interview. The passport isn’t expired, but it expires a month after my program in the U.S ends and the new embassy policy is to come with a passport 6 months beyond program end date( as stated on the appointment confirmation)
My passport expires in 2026, should I proceed with my current passport for visa interview or should I cancel the visa appointment and go for my passport capturing and wait for a new interview date. Please I need your help

@OyotunjiUSA captured it perfectly. You should not cancel your visa interview because of this. I strongly doubt you will be denied visa because of this. If you are successful and get here, you can renew your passport in any of the Consular in Atlanta, New York or DC

Just considering paying another MRV since they have refused to do anything on the profile linkage for 2weeks..Paid MRV on the old portal but no mail on profile migration to the new website till date

1. You seems to not understand the new scenarios. If you have booked an appointment b4, on old portal, you do not need to contact the embassy, they have your records, they will message you automatically.

2. If you are new, and ready to pay MRV immediately, go and fill DS-60 first after which you need to go back to the AVITS website to sign up, chose payment option, pay and book appointment.

3. If you have bought MRV before the update , but have not booked or never booked an appointment B4, go to the new website to raise a ticket or chat with the support help-line regarding the sending of the introduction email.

PS: The USA embassy is presently taking priority communication with category 1 & 2 above.

PS: Category 3 falls with the general public who have profiles on CGI before, they will all eventually be contacted for migrating purposes, but for prompt responses, category-3 can go to the new website to raise a ticket.

PS: Category-1 & 3, especially should not create another profile until they receive the introduction email. You can only raise a ticket for complain or call the support desk.

PS: You may buy another MRV (Category-3) in the hope of forfeiting the old MRV, as a result of delay, well, if you have the money
but, at the end of the day, you will have a double profile with the USA embassy, in which you much merge it together before proceeding.

I filled the DS160 and selected Lagos as the interview location, but when I went to the new appointment website, lagos was not working as it was say "something went wrong try later". I tried to see if its the same for Abuja and I clicked a date in Abuja now they have scheduled me for Abuja. I am unable to see where to put new Abuja DS160 Barcode number..

My question is can I use the DS160 for Lagos to interview in Abuja?

I just reached out to customer support and asked them the same questions as this is my first time so I am really confused. They replied that I could not fill a DS160 form in Lagos and interview in Abuja and that I would have to start the process all over again and pick Abuja from the start if I wanted to do that. Now I do not know if that means filling out another form alone or it means making another visa payment, my network acted up and I lost connection with them, maybe someone can assist with that here, please.

So i do not think you can interview in abuja if your form was filled for lagos .

I paid my Visa fee since Tuesday and since then whenever I'm trying to put in my Bank Deposit Reference Number on the site as requested the site will be telling me it doesn't exist.
I'm I the only one with this payment issue and how do I go about it.

1. Everything with the USA embassy is not confusing, but interesting, because of their wisdom to win you in a court of law,
and that particular aspect you quoted is meant for " stubborn or misguided applicants.

2. The meaning of what you quoted is this " In your DS-160, you are supposed to choose either. Lagos or Abuja as your location, so, let's assume you have chosen Lagos as your location, right ? But on the day of your interview, your office sent you to Abuja , and naturally, the DS-160 in your hand displayed Lagos as your interview center, Therefore , you are supposed to rush back to Lagos for your interview or miss the interview. But, the USA embassy is now saying that, you can now use that Lagos orientated DS-160 in Abuja if that situation arises.

Just a suggestion, Use the Amentum reference number, do it repeatedly till you see a change on your portal

So i do not think you can interview in abuja if your form was filled for lagos .

1. The customer support staffs want you to go to the embassy with completed credentials, that was why they told you that you cannot use it. You can actually use it , and you will be interviewed, but at the same time ,
if you don't have a very genuine reason, a hard-line consular officer can turn you back as an irresponsible VISA applicant.

2. Go and fill another DS-160. You are not making any payment. You can fill DS-160 as many time as you want to add or remove an information.

Please was it new portal you used for your payment and when we were able to select date after payment?

Yes, I used the new portal, I paid on August 26th, and I was only able to select Abuja today even though my original location was Lagos that is why I am confused, my appointment is on tueday September 10.

1. AVITS are still doing update on the new website, so the update profile is yet to be added.
Any applicant with updated DS-160 should attend interview with both old and new DS-160s. That is, if the new update is not completed before your interview.

No, they didnt prompt me to upload my I-20, it was stuck on preapproval request proccessing until yesterday I started seeing dates in Lagos and Abuja, lagos kept saying “something went wrong”, Abuja worked

Yes, I selected Lagos initially from the beginning. But when its time to select a slot, only Abuja went through😹😹. I am tired

Please apart from Firstbank, which other bank can I pay with. Also is it possible for me to make payment in the comfort of my home without going with this Amentum reference number to Firstbank. I am paying with my Naira account. Thank you
