My full respect to Frank the Tank. That guy is an untamed horse.

Why do I say this? See ehn, you guys saw Ndidi panting yesterday calling to be subbed but this was the role and burden Frank carried stoutly throughout AFCON without gassing out.

I hail Ndidi but shout out to Frank the armoured Tank.

Unseen Convo in camp after game:

Ndidi: Omo mehn! Frank come here first I want ask you something.

Onyeka: Yes Boss... wetin Sup?

Ndidi: I go give you elbow if you talk that boss again. U know see as I dey pant like dog dey beg coach to commot me for yesterday match?

Onyeka: **Interjects** E dey happen but U na still boss naa

Ndidi: *pulls Franks closer by the shoulder* Bia this man, hapu that thing first... na this role u execute back to back for Afcon?? Just you and Iwobi? Omo, I wan die yesterday. What is this bikonu??

Onyeka: Na so we see am ooo Boss. But you try.

Ndidi: Omo, I gats tell coachie to change us back to 3 man midfield ooo or na you go play next match for this 2 man midfield setup. I'm getting too old for this sh*t. I don tire abeg. Haba

Onyeka: **tries to say something but laughs...**

Ndidi: No wonder dem dey call you "The Tank".... Omo your workrate na wa ooo.
Even Cameroun tire for your matter for Afcon... Tank Force!!!

Baba u sabi watch ball. Bashiru’s focus was to attack when he was suppose to sit deep to help in protecting the midfield and defense against the opponent who were pushing for an equalizer

That was the main reason Ndidi gassed easily and was complaining which made AE to instruct Bashiru to drop deeper

Even I faulted AE for bringing in Bashiru instead of an Onyeka when the team was trying to defend a lead. We all didn’t notice that error because the team won comfortably

Bashiru is an all attacking midfielder and the best would have been maybe to push him to the flanks yesterday if we lacked better personnels in that area of the pitch or on the bench.

Iwobi is more tidy with the ball and understands that CM role than Bashiru.
How many minutes did Bashiru and Ndidi play together? And remember that just from when he was subbed in, our players were almost all pegged to the back due to pressure from the Benin players. So how many forward runs did Bashiru make before Ndidi called to be subbed off?

Truth is that Ndidi was tired. He no longer has lungs that Onyeka has to cover for the defensive lapses of Iwobi. Check when Bashiru entered. Check when Ndidi called to be subbed.

And this is not a diss on either Ndidi or Iwobi. Not all. It's more of an appreciation of Frank the Tank.

the bar try rewatch the match again. The midfield became compact again after AE instructed Bashiru to drop deeper to help Ndidi before the latter got subbed out for Onyedika

That was the reason I make a post here immediately canceling AE for subbing Bashiru in for Iwobi instead of Onyeka

My brother, I no doubt you oo. You are right
I'm only just looking at attributing Ndidi's exhaustion to Dele Bashiru.

Ndidi was already tired but brining in Bashiru who was more attack minded made the leicester man handicapped to an extend he started waving to the bench that he needs to be subbed out before person go faint 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ehen. So it should have been for Onyedika or Frank to come in for Iwobi to help Ndidi. But Eguaveon was looking for goals. At that point of Benin pressure, I knew if the pressure continued they'd have scored us but that Osimhen goal finish them.

yes you re right that AE was looking for more goals and it paid off because of the level of opposition we faced

If na team at par with the quality of our players they would have taken advantage of that loophole by pushing more bodies in the midfield to stifle Ndidi

Osimhen’s second goal demoralized them if not they would hv pushed and force in a goal cus our midfield was very weak and thin

That's the problem

When Jose Peseiro lost woefully to portugal they say give him more time

Why can't we give time to our home grown coaches to also do better

Imagine just one lose for Finidi George and they were planning to geta foreigner who doesn't even have African experience or a good c.v to become his boss he did a honourable thing to walk away

Okey let hire English men to take over our NFF class house
give more time no be for all coaches. When you see a good coach with potential, you advocate for more time. Eg AE after our lost to Tunisia, you see how good his team played in the group stage. Not a coach that was said to have been with the team becoming the head coach you go on to lose to Benin on a neutral ground and you are asking for more time. On which ground are you asking for more time.

Chuckwueze has it but basic things is failing him, anytime I watched Saka I asked myself is he better than Chuckwueze? but guess what,Saka understands the basic things about football, time to pass,to run,to dribble,to cover spaces and right time to shoot….if Chuckwueze can adjust his game,he would be our talisman, imagine doing it like Lookman and Osimhen upfront

you said it all about Saka, same thing I have said here many times

Saka is just good at the basics, he knows when to make a run, cut in, shoot and to release the ball, the reason I say he strikes more to me as a LB because he lacks flamboyancy (though not necessary in today’s football). Nothing fascinates me about his game rather I find him boring to watch

Samu’s problem is that he overdo things sometimes and doesn’t know when to apply the basics or hold onto the ball but he is more flamboyant and explosive

My ideal Left footed winger/forward currently are Yamal and Olise
