Thanks so much for this.

Please what documents did you need to take to OIS for your IW appointment?

I booked an appointment for my mum on the OIS website and I'll let her know about the 48k payment as well, but just to reduce stress on the elderly lady, abeg. She has not yet received an email from AVITS, she just has her old IW appointment letter from USTraveldocs (appointment booked before the change in August), GTB payment receipt and DS160 confirmation. Does she need another appointment letter from AVITS please?

Thanks.

Also, my mum submitted today and they didn’t request for the 48k. I am not sure why.

Good morning all ,

Thanks for all the information here .

This is my first time applying for a US visa and i have made payment on the new platform and i have been looking for a date as my travel time is next yr march . But sadly each time i click on a recent date i get the something went wrong error message . This morning i opened to check if any date was up and i saw a date in oct 2025 and i just click to see if the error will come up and behold i was booked for oct 2025. Now i am confused because my DS160 form filled states i will be travelling in march of 2025 , please i will like to know if i can fill another form assuming i do not get a sooner date before march and if i fill a new form how do i update it in my existing interview date schedule. I am so confused please some one advise me on what to do . thanks

🀠

1. In order word, you wanted to play trial n error but the computer played a fast one on you and " gbam ! you were booked for October, 2025 πŸ˜€

2. Anyways, you can keep using the reschedule option to see if you will be able to pick your desired date , or probably use the emergency option if need be.

3.. As for the DS-160, yes you can fill a new one in order to correspond or align with any date you are eventually given, and i think there is going to be the " Update profile " option where you will be able to update it in the new website as the new update is still ongoing.

PS: Let's assume the update profile option is not available when going for your interview, then all you have to do is attend your interview with both old and new DS-160s.

Hello house, I paid my visa fee 2yrs ago but i cant find my receipt any more I tried using the gtbank app but not show up, will it be a problem if I don't present the receipt on my interview date?

🀠

1. Since you are a GTB account holder why not walk into the bank and complain? They can initiate the reprint from your online or mobile account or simply visit the main bank if you had paid physically, perhaps payment history can be retrieved.

2. If nothing works, i have experienced very few people who attended VISA interview without MRV receipts, because MRV payment reference was indicated in their VISA appointment letters , and these applicants were victims of robbery attack enroute the US embassy.

PS: I am not very certain, but you should be allowed on the ground of a genuine reason.

Even with the email confirmation from the embassy, OIS is still charging 48k for drop off.
Also from what I have gathered they are charging that 48k to anyone who comes to pick up their passport as well even those who selected to pick up at DHL.
It is a rip off in my opinion but where do we direct our complaints?

SO, my initial appointment time for drop off was 8am, now am learning that we need to book appointment for dropoff on the new site, as they are not sending registration links to people like us as they promised. so my question is---the new appointment, would it have the same time as the old appointment?

secondly, are they strict on time for drop off.??..cos am flying in from another city, my initial plan was to come a day b4..drop off and fly back the next day....but, am thinking if i can come in by 10am flight, i can drop off say by noon and fly back same day...without spending funds on accomodation etc

lastly, how long did the dropoff process take...upto 2hours?

In case this might help someone out.

I registered on the new website (https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/) and after receiving the activation email, I successfully got my account up and running. I tried throughout last week to pay using the card option but it never worked.
Yesterday evening, I decided to use the bank transfer option. Payment was made around 6:30pm. I checked this morning to see if I could schedule an appointment but nothing. I tried again about an hour ago and this time I could. [A hint for those who may be wondering, start by clicking on the 'Pending Appointment Request' in the My Dashboard section]. I have answered all the questions and I qualify for IW. There are dates available in Sept and early October for Abuja. But the earliest date for Lagos that I see is Dec 3 2025. Cheers.

Hi, guys here is an update for those of us who live outside Lagos and Abuja. If you submitted your passport by dropbox and have your passport approved on the website tracker but no mail regarding passport pick up. Here is what I was advised today when I went to the OIS office in Port Harcourt they said passports can only be picked up from their Abuja or Lagos office.
To track your passport go to appointment.oisservices.com follow the prompt and proceed to know if they have your passport. If this is confirmed, find a way to pick it up yourself.

Please note they do not run a dispatch service for passports so you will have to pick them up yourself or give an authorization letter to someone in Lagos or Abuja.

Hello All. I was able to book an appointment for this Thursday on https://www.usvisaappt.com, but I'm yet to receive any confirmation email. Is this a problem? I was able to download the Interview Waiver Letter and all it says is to come with-
1. A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the
United States
2. Your DS-160 confirmation page
3. A passport photo taken within the last 6 months
4. The visa application fee receipt from First Bank of Nigeria
5. The printed Interview Waiver confirmation page

Am I supposed to do anything on OIS? I keep seeing something about OIS confirmation form here.

Location is US Embassy Abuja

Yes, what I mean is the acknowledgement slip and my mum’s DHL Dropbox appointment was originally for 11th but I picked 10th for her on the OIS website and it was not a problem at all.

As long as you have the IW appointment letter that shows the OIS office as drop off center, I believe you should be fine.

1. Yes it's a bit of problem, if you did not or have not received any acknowledgement email from the USA embassy, after registering on the new website, because, naturally " Qualification for interview waivers is assessed by the responses provided to questions during the appointment scheduling process, and at the end of the process " qualified applicants will receive an Interview Waiver Confirmation letter with detailed information on how to submit the application documents. This is probably where you missed the road, because it seems you have not received the IWCL ?

2. Anyways, according to the new directives, In order to be able to submit your application documents, you need to proceed with registering on :

www.oisservices.com/services website.

On that page, locate "US VISA APPLICATION DOCUMENTS PICK UP/DROP OFF" section, scroll down to the page and click on "Click Here" button.

Proceed with registering on the page and select your documents pick-up/drop off option."

PS: It seems you will have to pay a fee , if you did not have the IW confirmation letter from the embassy.

Good evening,

Please I just want to clarify a few things. I am at the point of trying to choose an appointment date for IW. My understanding is that on the appointment date, I would need to go and drop off the passport at the consulate/embassy. And then when the visa is ready, the passport is forwarded to OIS for collection. One would then register with OIS and book an appointment to pick up the passport.

HOWEVER, from your explanation below it would seem that both drop-off and pick-up are actually done at OIS. Or am I missing something? Please help me understand the process. Thank you.

I also need this clarification. Are we to book appointments on both the US Embassy site and the OIS site? These are two different locations

I'm trying to see if I can book the two on the same day so I don't have to travel to Abuja twice

Hey 🀠

1. Yes. According to the USA embassy , the 1st step for IW applicant is to go and sign up on the AVITS website , choose payment option, pay and book appointment. But during the course of signing up, you will answer IW qualification questions, submit and sign out.

2. At the end of the process, qualified applicants will receive an Interview Waiver Confirmation letter (it can be immediately , after 1 day, etc no time is specified) with detailed information on how to submit the application documents. So all IW applicants must wait to receive this confirmation letter before proceeding.

3. After receiving this letter, that means you are qualified for IW, and you will move to the 2nd phase by following the instructions below :

In order to be able to submit/collect your application documents, you need to proceed with registering on www.oisservices.com/services website.

On that page, scroll down to locate "US VISA APPLICATION DOCUMENTS PICK UP/DROP OFF" section, and click on "Click Here" button. Proceed with registering on the page, select ''Visa Application'' and your documents pick-up/drop off option.

4. drop-off the documents free of charge and by appointment (by registering according to sense 3b above) at the OIS offices listed below
(please note that application documents are not being sent between consular cities; you must submit your documents in the consular city where you intend to apply for the visa.):

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Slymod: 2:38am On Sep 11
I made visa fee payment about 4 days ago on the new Avits website through bank transfer. Payment is yet to reflect and I'm unable to schedule an appointment. So I deleted the pending application request to start a new only to get the error 'Duplicate applicant found for this user'. I learnt the visa fee is tied to the email address used for registration. I'm thinking of deleting the account and registering again with the same email address in hopes the glitch will disappear and payment might be picked up. I even tried retrieving the payment details by entering the bank reference number and payment date. It gives the message bank 'bank details updated successfully and nothing happens thereafter.
Please has anyone encountered this issue and how was it fixed?
The support tickets I created are rotting away. No response since then.
