I've been checking. The calendar no longer shows. It just states 'Location Unavailable" under appointments.

Hello @DFCO,

In case this is still necessary, here is what you do.

Login again, select 'My Dashboard'. Click 'Pending Appointment Request'. It should open up the calendar. Just above the calendar on the right hand side, you will see 'Select'. Click it to choose Abuja or Lagos and then you will see the available dates.

Please how can one include dependent on the new website. I was told I have to do it separately with different email for I and each of my kids. Please how true is this? Any tips or advice on how to proceed. I started my application to proceed to payment but no could not find any part to include them. This is where I am confused

So my original drop off date from the US website was 25th sept,, so with this switch to OIS, am yet to get a mail/profile migration...
should I continue waiting aswas initially advice or go ahead and schedule appointment on the ois website?

what dates are available for dropoff on the ois page p, when you tried pls/?. 2ndly the ois people are they strict on dropoff appointment time?..or you can come in earlier or later...in as much as its same day
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by duncanmighty: 9:49pm On Sep 12
Wow. Thats quite close dates.... when did (date)you rescedule to have gotten november 2024?
annabee:
After booking your initial appointment, you have 3 chances to reschedule.
You can view the appointment calendar as many times as you want, the attempt only counts when you successfully book an appointment.

In my mom's case for instance, I secured her initial appointment for May 2025, I saw she had 3 more reschedule attempts left. I kept checking for an early date but each time I tried to pick a date, an error message pops up. Eventually, I rescheduled her for November 2024, same night I rescheduled again for October 2024. Now she has 1 more reschedule chance left.

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by annabee(f): 10:15pm On Sep 12
Yeah, I was shocked too because all earlier dates (September 2024/ October 2024) I was trying to pick was coming back as error messages. I kept trying every day, and by luck after numerous tries, it worked.

I rescheduled her 2 days ago.

I think you should still wait a few more days. Also please check your spam/junk mailboxes.

Hi comrades,

Came to share my US visa story in case it helps anyone. I applied since last year March, but got a date for 24th September 2024. I was fine because I didn’t have a pressing issue in the US, until an important work event came up that needed me to be in the US September 19th. Tried using an agent and didn’t succeed in changing the date, then this new platform was created and nothing was happening for some weeks. Finally I was onboarded to the usvisaappt. Once I was onboarded, I saw the option to book an emergency appointment and used this. I explained the emergency, and included a letter from my organization explaining the importance of my being in the US.

Two days later, I checked my usvisappt and I saw that emergency dates had opened up to me. I now had the option to pick a date throughout last week and this week. I picked Tuesday 10th of September. My appointment letter was saying emergency appointment. Mind you, they never sent me an email to say that the emergency appointment request had been approved (not in spam too). I was lucky I checked.

When I went for my interview, the people validating documents at the entrance knew that I was the person coming for an emergency appointment. My appointment was for 11AM. I got there at 10AM and was allowed in. There were no queues and I didn’t see a lot of people in the embassy.

The VO asked me some questions around the work I do, flipped my passport a lot looking at the stamps I’ve gotten previously. I even came with plenty letters from my office, bank statement etc. and he didn’t request any at all. He asked me if I’m married or have kids and I said no — I guess he was trying to ascertain family ties.

He then smiled and gave me the white slip, and said this document contains information on how you will get your passport back as soon as it’s ready. I said thank you and left.

Hello All. I was able to book an appointment for this Thursday on https://www.usvisaappt.com, but I'm yet to receive any confirmation email. Is this a problem? I was able to download the Interview Waiver Letter and all it says is to come with-
1. A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the
United States
2. Your DS-160 confirmation page
3. A passport photo taken within the last 6 months
4. The visa application fee receipt from First Bank of Nigeria
5. The printed Interview Waiver confirmation page

Am I supposed to do anything on OIS? I keep seeing something about OIS confirmation form here.

Location is US Embassy Abuja

Please how where you able to pay for the visa using the new website

Hi, I tried it saw dates for 2025 and its not even letting me pick a date. it keeps giving an error message.

If it gives a date for 2025 and I have a 2024 date at OIS which date superceeds?

Hi, I tried to get dates on the AVITS site, saw dates for 2025, but its not even letting me pick a date. it keeps giving error messages. I know you mentioned getting a date on both sites but Avits is just not letting me pick a date. It just gives error messages.

Also, If it gives a date for 2025 and I have a 2024 date at OIS which date superceeds?

primusmaximus:

If you live in Lagos or Abuja, then still try and submit using the OIS date. It's possible they have stopped AVITS appointments for drop-off as it may no longer be relevant (as mentioned by OIS)

If you stay outside Lagos/Abuja, then wait for someone to confirm using OIS date only.

The OIS staff I spoke with actually said they have taken over the appointment booking process from US Embassy.

Yes, I was. I used the option to transfer from other bank to Firstbank. The site then generated a generic account for me to transfer to. I started the process on Tuesday this week.

If you have an IW letter, then try submitting using the OIS date only. The OIS staff I spoke to said Avits date is no longer in use.

Someone will need to test this out and confirm. What I can confirm now is that Avits date alone cannot be used to submit.

Please help!

The agent helping me randomly went to pick an appointment date for 2026 January in the previous website without even informing me. I also found out that my email login for the old website was also wrongly spelt. I don’t know if the email can still be corrected? Because up till now, I haven’t received any email in regards to updating my profile in the new website
I don't know what to do. I've been checking everywhere and refreshing my email, nothing is coming up.
What's the way forward peeps?

You have 2 payment options. One is to pay via a USD debit or credit card and the other option is to pay with cash at any first bank branch, which requires u to print out the bank slip on your portal and submit at the bank.
I hope this helps

That's weird. It's dialing fine on my phone. Just copy as is and call. No need to add the plus sign (+). Also no bracket () and no dash (-)

All the best!

It is very almost hard to see B1/B2 visa alert here this day.

U may have a good chance of getting d visa if u are on medical trip or study route or u had travelled before to States without overstaying ur intended days of ur vacation. Others whose cases are different na blue papers dem dey serve them.

If you don't believe me, and u can risk visa fee, go and try it and come back to give us report with ur transcripts.

some got it first time without travel history another thing is grace

Hello everyone,
Please I’ve a question. My mum paid her visa fee through gtbank like a day before the visa website closed so she couldn’t book an appointment date. Now they sent her an email for the new website, and she tried using her gtbank receipt for payment reference and it’s saying “payment receipt doesn’t exist”. Anyone else having this problem?

🤠

1.. Why should the agent have informed you when you have entrusted him or her with the duty ? The agent did the right thing by picking any date first (the general rule ) before you can be able to reschedule or apply for emergency appointment.

2. Its your negligence, if you also entrusted the agent to open an official email for you , thereby, anyone can make a mistake , and if you had opened the email yourself, it's still your negligence of not focusing on detail.

3. What email do you want to correct ? The email account that you have already opened or you lost password or login access ? My friend , go to AVITS website and sign up, and open a ticket regarding your case by attaching your old appointment letter. Go and meet your agent if he or she has your login credentials. Don't blame agents. Accept your responsibility or negligence.

1. You seems to be lying against the embassy. It is only those with previous appointments that are supposed to be contacted by the embassy , with the introduction email that will link them with the new website ( AVITS).

2. USA embassy gave the public notification about the deadline , timeline and different procedures to make the MRV payment (online or physical @GTB) , prior to the update ,
but majority of VISA applicants disregard those directives.

3. Anyways, visit the new website (AVITS),

Create a ticket'' option in your scheduling account on usvisaappt.com. and send your MRV payment receipt alongside with a brief explanation to the help-line. They will send you the link to book your appointment.
