Hi

First step is to calculate ur score via the crs tool. Use this link: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Second step is to take the IELTS Exam and make sure u get a minimum of Listening: 8; Reading: 7; Writing: 7; Speaking 7.5 (i will advise you to aim higher, cos the higher ur IELTS test, the higher ur points for language)

Third step is to get ur highest degree evaluated via WES (preferably masters). You can do this while preparing for ur IELTS exam. The link to WES Canada is https://applications.wes.org/createaccount
Your University will be the one to upload your results via WES. So u shouldn't bother yourself. It is only wen u start the process that u understand it

Fourth step is to create an express entry profile and enter the pool with the NOC of your choice. The link to registering of an account via canada immigration website is https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html

Nomination via PNP is only applicable to u if u av a sibling residing in that particular province for over a year and that province offers sibling nomination. Provinces like Alberta, Manitoba & Saskatchewan offer sibling nomination but you  need to go to their various websites for further research.
You can explore the ongoing category draws. There are six categories which are: STEM (this is applicable to u), Agriculture,  Transportation, French, Trade and Healthcare. You just need to have had work experience in the last three years for either of these categories and enter the pool with their NOC (For example if you have worked as a Transportation manager in the last 3yrs, u can go into the pool with NOC number 70020 for work experience and make sure that you can get a reference letter/payslip to backup ur claim after u av received an ITA)
You can use this link to track all the draws done and their last CRS score and compare with yours, so you know where you stand, or which category draw to go for. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html#wb-auto-4

There is no telling on when you will get an ITA or the exact timeframe to get ur PR afrer ITA cos Canada is not predictable.  So instead of worrying about all that, start with baby steps by getting ur WES/IELTS and entering the pool.

Leave the rest to God.

There is going to be an announcement next month on the various categories/number of people Canada wants to welcome next year. So u can be preparing for ur IELTS while you await the new update

Wow!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That was so fast for an Outlander!

Our Timeline is Identical just like a twin, until they tossed me to Lagos VO and into further review! It's easier for someone in Nigeria to get PR these days (provided they have the same point) than someone in Canada and that's just the Fact! Please give us full details, Congrats once again!

I have adequate experience in these NOC,
22221 – User support technicians and
21233 – Web designers.
I want to create EE profile but stuck on which NOC to stick to regarding getting a job faster.

Note: I run both services in my Startup (Self Employed).
Advice pls. 🙏🏻

My friend stopped education at ND level. He didn't do HND.
We are planning to relocate to Canada through express entry. Can he go ahead and write IELTS?

No, as he likely wont get enough points with only ND. Unless maybe he is ready to also do TEF/ French test.

Hello guys!

We submitted our application for PR some weeks ago, we have done our biometric as well. We did upfront medicals (a family of 3)
However, my wife got a message from Canada to do more test, as they found something in her scan (no cause for alarm, she has had asthma that comes once in a blue moon, I'm sure that was what the scan picked up).

The letter they sent was for her to do some other testing(which we have done) and a final xray (to be done on or before October 30th).

We submitted our application few weeks ago, so my question is this:

Will they wait till October 30th, and after we have finished the scan before they begin processing our application? Because we already got a mail that they are processing the applications.

Or will everything go on normal while they wait for the medical for my wife?

Manitoba PNP for close relative connection is a dead end for now it is stopped...last draw was december 2023 and most of them waiting for nomination over 8 to 12months are calling for help for nominations ..while others in the pool are competing for limited slots, as Manitoba PNP prioritise those whose work permit are expiring in 45 days to clear backlogs of over 5000 ..increasing waiting time for overseas candidates.

The Bolded, pls how does one go about it, the processes involved and can someone get admission for masters straight up with HND?

By getting ECA via Wes and joining the pool. Not seen any HND to masters program in Canada. Ask on the student forum for recent updates.

Hello House,
My friend got ITA and submitted her application. about a month later she was rejected on the basis that her police report from another country isn't complete and it didn't pass the completeness check. We are hoping that she doesn't lose the ITA and can write a letter of reconsideration to appeal this decision(and adding the correct police documents as they stated in the rejection letter). Anyone has a format to writing letter of reconsideration? Or any general advise on what can be done to turn this decision in our favour. TIA

Unfortunately no appeal will be honored if she indeed submitted a wrong or incomplete document. She would loose the ITA and need to re enter the pool and wait for another ITA. Reconsideration is only possible if the mistake was on the part of the visa officer.

I haven't, so hopefully more people weigh in.
He should check if he has the complete amount in dollars plus the bank fees.
If he has someone trustworthy abroad, he can ask the person to pay and then he transfers the naira equivalent back.

Gurus in the house, pls I really need some help with the right way to go about this.

My wife is a student and during her study permit, we submitted the following work history:

Optometrist - 2016 - June 2019 (ABCD Eye Clinic)
Healthcare Admin - July 2019 to October 2023 (EFGH Eye Clinic)

We made the study permit application in October 2023 and arrived April 2024.

Now the challenge is that we Healthcare admin NOC 30010 is not part of the Healthcare Category draw but Optometrist is.

Meanwhile the actual work history is

Optomterist (Intern) 2016 - 2018 (ABCD Eye Clinic)
Optomterist (NYSC) 2018 - 2019 (Teaching Hospital Kaduna)
Optometrist July 2019 - Jan 2023 ( This job was part -time, like 3 times in a week)
Optometrist April 2023 - April 2024) (EFGH Eye Clinic)

She was licensed in Feb 2017.

All the work done at ABCD clinic were paid in cash and transfers from personal account. While the work at EFGH clinic was paid normally from clinic account.

Pls how can we go about this to avoid any mistakes

Good day, everyone. Please how do i respond this mail from IRCC?

You need to get an updated bank letter from your financial institution. But most importantly, since your POF is a fixed deposit, let the bank provide you with fixed deposit certificate, which carried all details of the fixed fund. Date of fixing, interest rate, tenure, and expiration date.

Importantly, ensure that the bank specifically indicate that you can have access to the fixed fund/liquidate the fund at any point of your choice. This clause is important to IRCC. They want to make sure the fund is accessible to you at any time.

Hope this helps

Thank you. However i am thinking of fixed deposit liquidation into my account to show that I have access to this money. Is this advisable. Also since the fixed deposit is not enough. Can I use additional fund in my piggyvest account

Your response will be appreciated

No, do not liquidate. Fix a new fund to make up, and provide documents for it. You can use multiple fixed deposit as POF..
