Please when booking an appointment, what should be the correct way to fill in "the beginning of study visit?" |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by harkynon(m): 11:23am On Sep 19 |
It is normally the start date of your study. You could as well put 2 to 4 weeks before to have ample time to settle down ahead of studies ImpeccableDust: 1 Like |

Helle here, I got this mail from the german embassy today "Dear Sir/Madam In the above mentioned visa application, you are kindly asked to submit the following documents (plus a copy for our file): Your West Afican Senior school certificate A new Declaration of Age deposed by either your mother or your father (or the head of your family) from the High Court Birth Certificate Please do so until 05.10.2024. You may do so Monday- Friday from 10-12:30 a.m. directly at the Consulate. Please bring along a printout of this email in order to ensure access to the premises. You do not need an appointment." On the document checklist, they asked for School reports from primary and secondary school OR WAEC Certificate I do not have my primary school certificate and I do not want to use my WAEC result as it is not good so I submitted the original NECO result. Also, on the document checklist, they asked for birth certificate or declaration of age and I submitted my declaration of age. I do not understand why they asked for a declaration of age (again) as well as birth certificate. Also, what can I do about the WAEC certificate issue? |

Hello Everyone, Please I would like to confirm the below about the students visa to Germany Do they still accept reference letter from a family member instead of the block account? Can i travel with my dependents or they have to join me later? (How does dependent visa work for students) How many months does it take for the whole processing as we are looking to move by January? I and my husband are both into IT, how easy is it to get a sponsorship job. Thank you and God bless as you help answer these questions. |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by harkynon(m): 9:31pm On Sep 19 |
NECO and WAEC are same and acceptable. Submit NECO (plus a valid scratch card) Go to high court and do a new age declaration which your mom or dad deposes. Ensure you submit asap. That is what is delaying your visa LANREORIOWO: |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by harkynon(m): 9:40pm On Sep 19 |
No they never accepted reference letter. Either you block the amount in a german bank account or you get a sponsorship letter from a German resident. Yes you can travel with dependants so far you fulfil all dependants financial requirements (blocked account for each dependant, though the value differs per age range) If dependant is a spouse, it is advisable the spouse joins you later with other means like reunion visa or study visa. Because as a student, going with dependant (spouse) might raise flags. I have seen a lady travel with 2 kids as dependants before but not a spouse dependant. Germany visa is now gold. If you are in category A, few months. If category B, 12 months to 36months. IT jobs yapa. Germany is the largest economy in europe, the 3rd biggest economy in the world, so IT job or any STEM job is good. Read the thread in the past to know alot jhummy: 2 Likes 1 Share |

harkynon: Thanks for the input. I would be glad for your clarification on someone who has been offered research assistant position (PhD) with provisional Meyer term to be extended upon performance review on: 1. Which category of visa is applying for? 2. Is advisable going with spouse and which visa category will he/she be applying for? 3. What is the financial and other requirements if both are applying? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Ndyoo(m): 8:16am On Sep 21 |
PhD should be category A. Your spouse have to provide a blocked account too. She can join as dependent or with a family reunion visa. I assume your PhD is a paid position on some certain percentage? If not, then blocked account applies to you too. wallmosh: 1 Like |

LANREORIOWO: I suggest you resubmit the Neco and go with scratch card if that is what you use while applying for admission. Also, for the declaration of age you can get that in any court or you can get a birth certificate Attestation from NPC website you get it within hours. Wish you all the very best. |

JOfDMostHigh: Thank you. I applied for master's and got admitted and during the application they did not ask about secondary school, they only asked about my BSc studies. I have already gotten a new Declaration of Age and Birth Certificate. The issue now is I have submitted the Original NECO certificate on my first visit to the embassy, I do not have it with me now so I can not resubmit it. Are you suggesting I submit a photocopy along with a scratch card? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by floxybba6: 3:10pm On Sep 21 |
I would advice you give embassy what they requested for. If they said they want your waec, submit it like that to them okay. If even your grades are not good. Then for birth certificate, submit it with the declaration of age from high court. They re understanding even though very strict. Danke [Aquote author=harkynon post=132076687]NECO and WAEC are same and acceptable. Submit NECO (plus a valid scratch card) Go to high court and do a new age declaration which your mom or dad deposes. Ensure you submit asap. That is what is delaying your visa [/quote] |

Give them what they ask for. Submit your WAEC result and your birth certificate plus new declaration of age from high court. Just advice LANREORIOWO: |

In that case, make a copy and notarize it at any federal high court. That notarized copy is equivalent to original LANREORIOWO: 1 Like |

NECO = WAEC in Nigeria. The federal govt of Nigeria approves NECO and at such not everyone takes WAEC. How do they know he has WAEC? What id he didnt have it? If he doesnt like the result and wishes never to present it, i do not see it as a problem. floxybba6: |

This is a terrible advice. He better gives the embassy the WAEC that they’re asking for; how’s this even up for discussion? Rejection rate is now high in case you don’t know. Fxck around and find out. harkynon: 2 Likes |

Ndyoo: Thanks for the reply. I do understand that a blocked account is account with restrictions or limitations. Are there required amount specified by the Germany Embassy for both applicants? Can this be done by Nigeria Banks or strictly by any or stipulated German Banks? |

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by JOfDMostHigh: 1:25pm On Sep 22 |
LANREORIOWO: Make a photocopy and submit along with a scratch card you are good to go. But since you have Waec, why not tender it regardless of the grade. In Nigeria Waec and Neco goes. Both can be combined as one the last time I check. Did you by any means indicate you have a Waec certificate during the process? Because people have been going through with just Neco. Since your Neco is already with them do well to tender the Waec they are requesting for. Wish you all the very best. 2 Likes |

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by LANREORIOWO: 8:10pm On Sep 22 |
JOfDMostHigh: Thank you I did not mention WAEC in anyway. I think they want is to do a background check or something and they need a scratch card as I did not submit that before. Maybe both NECO and WAEC are termed WASSC by them. I will do as you said as well as submitting a scratch card. Thank you! |

Its about 12k euro per adult. You would be able to read more on fintiba.com or xpatrio.com. The payment can be transferred from Nigeria bank into the German banks wallmosh: 1 Like |
