You can apply for a reconsideration using the Webform. Send a webform to them, explaining the errors the VO made and the document he missed. Write that your sister paying a full tuition already established your relationship. Also attached her birth certificate, passport, US visa or residency permit. All these can be attached in the Webform damyzel: 2 Likes |

Sorry about your refusal on the second attempt, would advise you to apply for a GCMS note and defer your admission if you have not done that. Popson09: 1 Like |

Contact the school to request a new PAL. You don’t know if the school has reached its quota for 2024 (IRCC allocates the yearly quota to provinces, and the provinces apportion it to their educational institutions); moreover, you want to defer to a 2025 start date, which is likely not applicable to 2024 PAL. Payment of tuition fee and 21K GIC is acceptable. Still, if you choose this option, ensure you have funds for your flight ticket. Having said that, meeting the financial requirement without supporting documents as per the source of the funds could paint a different picture (intention to return) if your submission does not show strong ties in Nigeria. Note that financial buoyancy is a strong home tie, so document your assets, if any, and prepare an excellent financial table of your assets supported by a valuation report. Better still, get a net worth report from a Chartered Accountant. In this type of submission, the Vos can look at your application as a whole to make a decision. So, a well-articulated SoP showing solid ties in Nigeria is paramount. Also, the level of your involvement in the society can be used as a tie. So, if you belong to any social or religious group, get a letter stating you are an active member. mopdro: |

You can request a reconsideration if you believe that in assessing your application, the VO made an error in law or somehow erred; simply disagreeing is not a factor. For instance, you can request a reconsideration if a VO ignores a vital document. Remember, IRCC is not obligated to consider or respond to your request, though they can acknowledge receipt. Based on your information, I can’t state whether you have sufficient funds as you did not mention your tuition fee and the program’s duration; they are required to determine fund sufficiency. Also, although your sponsor paid the tuition fee, she did not provide a bank statement (unless I missed this information in your post). For shared sponsorship, the co-sponsor must be specific with the cost of your education that she will be responsible for. Though you seem to have the documents, you may have done a poor job demonstrating the relationship and the sponsor’s commitment. You can address the latter by stressing that our sponsor paid your tuition fee and highlighting it in the bank statement. The VO already mentioned the applicant, spouse, and two minors, so the “five” is likely a typo and should not be used as a ground for reconsideration or in judicial review; instead, the focus should be on sufficient funds and proof of relationship. You should reapply if you receive no reply after 10 business days. All the best. damyzel: 1 Like |

damyzel: You have N44.9m in your maiden name, and some funds in other bank statements, paid school fees in full... Tuition fees Noted.. VO mentioned that your personal ability is very limted, you have N44.9m on statement, how come your sister is to financially support the whole living expenses ,seems like VO purposely ignored the bank balance of N44.9m , as you have no part in living expenses and to have strong reason of refusals. Application was complicated by third party sponsor which should have limited part in living expenses. |

Maria96:With Limited pathways to PR assylum claims are increasing in canada.. Marc miller needs help intends to distribute assylum seekers from ontario and quebec to other provinces to ease pressure on ontario and quebec all provinces refused to take assylum seekers.. Alberta requested for increased PNP quota for economic migrants from 9,750 to 14,000 the feds refused, alberta reminded the feds about the refusal to increase PNP quota in the past, instead of increasing PNP allocations, they pushed assylum seekers to provinces which was halt..now is payback time to the feds.. Now all PNP is surged ,permanent residents admissions from abroad crippled. 2 Likes |

It seems the study permit applications that take time are those of college students. Those of Masters students are generally faster. 4 Likes |

I need help with visa application with a spouse please. I want to apply for a study visa for a master's degree and it's my Dad that's sponsoring me. Is it advisable to apply to bring my husband with me as well? If not, how long is it advisable to wait when one land in Canada before requesting for a spouse to join someone. 1 Like 1 Share |

You can apply with your spouse if you are going for at least 16 months for a master's degree and can show your ties in Nigeria. Otherwise, he can join you after you land in Canada. OllyM: |

Hi, I am just giving an advice, not to discourage you about the program you are going for. If you get admission for the program, please change to a more demanding program. That program has screwed alot of people after graduation, but if you feel you want to go ahead with the program you can but be strategic. Donjazy19: 2 Likes |

It usually is, but no two applications are the same, so a holistic review of your application is required to determine if you have a strong tie. Once you arrive, register for courses and request an enrolment letter from the school. He will need a copy of the enrolment letter and study permit to apply for SOWP OllyM: 1 Like |
