I am eligible for interview waiver and had interview waiver appointment on the old platform but when I was migrated to the new one it seemed like a regular interview appointment on the appointment letter which was on the 19th of September. I couldn’t attend the interview cause of the confusion with the platform and other unforeseen circumstances , so after reading this thread I went on the OIS platform and scheduled a drop off appointment for the 2nd of October. Will there be any issues since I missed my old appointment for the 19th of September.

1. Your old IW appointment was converted to normal physical appointment, because the USA embassy felt like seeing you for questioning,
but unfortunately, you missed the appointment which is likely means that appointment has gone. Mind you, the USA embassy stipulates on the IW notification that " An applicant, who is or was qualified for interview waiver can still be summon for a physical appearance, this is what happened in your situation.

2. Now, if your present AVITS login page is not displaying any ' Pending Appointment or Reschedule Appointment, that means your appointment is gone , and in which
you will have to pay another MRV. Even , if you want to gamble another attempt on IW, OIS must see your payment receipt from AVITS before you can submit your IW application.

3. Now, let's suppose that you were successful with your OIS gambit, then, have it in mind that the USA embassy is 75% likely to call you back for a physical appearance , based on their initial demand of 19th of September.

On the AVITS platform I still have an opportunity to reschedule my appointment but when I click on a date it says the slot has been taken. I have my MRV payment receipt from when I went to pay with GTBank .

Once I see an earlier date I like and click on it and the time, "BOOK POST APPOINTMENT" will pop up after which "slot already used" pops up. Please what does "BOOK POST APPOINTMENT" mean? I don't remember seeing the "BOOK POST APPOINTMENT", it might have been there, but I didn't take note of it. But I did see the "slot already used" when I selected "Fake" dates. I'd say take note of the fake dates and check periodically, if any new dates show up, try clicking on them, because they're most likely real dates. Good luck!

Hi, I can't answer that question accurately because I already used my last reschedule attempt, so I don't have access to available appointment dates. Last I checked earlier last week, there were some November 2024 dates and several May 2025 dates, but I have no idea if these dates are still available.

initially i had a group appointment for them.

on this new site i dont know why it didnt show the group appointment. it shows seaparate appt.

To answer your question, no agent was used. It was me and my cousin that completed the application together.

True I got the notification, that was after some weeks, and this was because it end up in my junk box.

as regard creating a ticket. I did that ,and no response.

1. You wasted your 2 - years of waiting via your own , or your agent' s fault because, the USA embassy actually sent reschedule notification OR, you should have logged in intermittently and would have been able to catch up with the rescheduled appointment.

I didnt think there was need as I already knew my appointment was moved to October, after gettint to the embassy May 2nd

2. If you have arrived on AVITS via the initiative email from the USA embassy, and you are seeing expired appointment, then, it seems you are on your way to buying another VISA fee.

PS: You may try call the embassy help-staffs or raise a ticket ,and let's see may be luck might intervene. Also, if you can screenshot your AVITS message on NL, it would be open to general opinion.

You can't update a new DS160 on the AVITS system. I contacted them concerning this and they said, it's not available at this time that if one has a fast-approaching interview, they should go to the embassy with the new DS160. They also said that the embassy is aware of this issue.

I would advise you can go with the 2 just in case.

1. Go and fill your VISA application form (DS-160) first.

2. Then visit AVITS to sign up and make payment. Always remember to download, screenshot or note down payment reference pls.

3. Once your payment is confirmed on AVITS, then , initiate the booking of your appointment. If you are having issues or delay in booking appointment on AVITS, abandon the process (ONLY IW - Interview Waiver/Visa Renewal Applicant) and proceed to OIS in order to book an appointment for your Drop- off/ Pick up.

4. After successful scheduling on OIS, print out your drop - off date , print it out and you are free to visit on your appointment day.
OIS is the most important to IW applicants, and OIS appointment scheduled is what IW applicants will use to drop off their renewal application. You must, however go along with evidence of your VISA fee payment on AVITS.

I am stuck step #3. i have made payment in First bank and my payment reference successfully verified on AVITS. I am not able to go beyond that point. the system returns me to generate a new invoice everytime. This has been going on for weeks, I have open a complaint ticket, still no luck!

Firstly, thank you all for your valuable support and insights on this platform 🙏

Please, I need your advice. My brother paid the MRV post migration on the AVIT through FBK for F1 visa. And later attempted to book an appointment but his profile is stuck on "Pending Preapproval Request " for several weeks.

He has raised tickets and spoke to the Customer Services of AVIT but the issue is unresolved.

Please, what else should he do or can he do?

anybody has experience on how the usa views someone, whose spouse is an asylum seeker in the usa based on the kids who are citizens.
would they just summarily reject the visa application cos of the spouse asylum without looking at the merits of the case and the persons clean sheet of visiting the usa and returning without overstaying?

1. I don't have the need to apply for or renew VISA at the moment , i was writing out of few experiences. Choose First bank payment. It can be slow , but First bank has taken over. Others, who have paid with card successfully might give accurate mention though.
