I made visa fee payment on 3rd September 2024 on the new Avits website through loca bank transfer (First Bank) in Sagamu, Ogun State.
I later found out that the bank official erroneously input '1' instead of 'I' in the Ammentum number. However, that was corrected and the payment was acknowledged as the AVIT system prompted 'Bank payment updated successfully'. Surprisingly I couldn't proceed to the appoitment booking page for days, and this prompted me to cancel this pending appointment process and initiated a fresh one.
Unfortunately, I had been unable to proceed in this process as the system kept on prompting 'Duplicate applicant found for this user' message each time I try again and again. This situation is very frustrating, I made effort to generate ticket three times and all not yet attended to.
Please has anyone encountered this issue and how was it fixed?
The support tickets I created are just there on thier system not attended to. No response since then.

Hello everyone please I need help ooo.
I had an IW appointment that was reschedule automatically to August 2024 from my initial appointment date in Nov 2024 by the US consulate.

However I was unable to drop off my documents at the time due to work obligation. And was unable to reschedule another date as instructed in the email sent to me, because the old system became unavailable.

I am yet to get an email from the new service provider to migrate to the new portal.

What should I do, I still have my MRV intact on the old portal.

It's been 3 weeks since the new portal has been up, and I am yet to get the migration email.

Good afternoon, I was at OIS office last Friday for my drop off and they refused to collect my documents saying I must follow the AVITS appointment which is not till next month, They advised I should not bother booking another OIS appointment for drop off but should just come on the day mentioned in my AVITS Letter. I am totally confused now that i see some were able to drop off with just the OIS appointment. Any thoughts on this

Hi, please have you been able to resolve this? I have a similar issue.

My appointment was rescheduled for October 2 on the old platform but I didn't receive a mail to migrate to the new portal. I raised a ticket but it seems that the person who reviewed it did not understand as I was asked to make a new payment.

Can anyone else advise?

1. Your appointment was meant to be rescheduled on the old platform but you missed it without notification to the embassy. Had it been that you were able to reschedule, you will now be having an old appointment which is qualified to be migrated into the new website (AVITS). But you missed the old appointment reschedule instruction , which means ABSENT or YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED.

2. It seems that person who reviewed your ticket was right.

1. That looks like IW Qualification letter cum submission instructions. You have to print some important part and proceed to OIS for final registration in order to go and drop off your VISA application.

PS: You just opened your account on AVITS to see if you can schedule what kind of VISA type ? Has your VISA fee been confirmed ? From there , you screenshotted a half-opened message and asking people to interpret?

PS: Half-truth questions, makes people to mislead you unintentionally, because they will guess or generalize answers just like what i did up there (sense 1).

I am so happy! My parent's initial date before the new website was introduced was October 2025, luckily for us, they got the September 23 2024 date after we rescheduled. Their visa was approved on September 23rd. Please how long does it take for their visa status to change to “issued”? It still says approved. Thanks

* Don't listen or Stop reading negative experiences. It will affect your VISA application, and your mindset.
Some people want to create group, so they are exaggerating and creating fear.

1. Whenever you are ready. For B1/B2 *Go and fill DS-160 * Visit the new website ( AVITS). * Sign up * Choose country and location* Choose payment method (you have 3-days to pay after chosen) * Receive payment confirmation
*Proceed with your appointment booking. You do not have anything to do with OIS.

2. If you are for renewal (IW), follow the above steps, but you will be asked some IW qualification questionnaire in the process. After successful scheduling of your appointment, you will have to wait for the IW Qualification Letter from the embassy.

3. Still on IW. After you have received your IW qualification Letter from the embassy, proceed to OIS to sign up and schedule another Drop off/Pick up appointment, and print out your appointment letter.

4. On the day of your appointment (based on OIS schedule), visit OIS office with * IW Qualification letter * MRV payment receipt* OIS appointment letter, and other requirements as explained in your IW Qualification Letter .

PS: You may experience delay in payment confirmation, or delay in receiving IW Qualification Letter b/cos of the new update and large application that is being treated by the US embassy, you will still be able to do everything successfully with patience. People attend VISA interview and visit OIS every day.

and click on the Courier Shipping Number link " " under Status. The page will open to the delivery status. If no Courier Shipping Number appears on your status, that means your passport has not been processed by the courier and may still be processed.

* It's usually 5 - days.
