Dear Writer,
Please follow these steps.
1. Fill out a DS-160 form, taking note of your application reference number.
2. Go to the AVITS website and register as a new user. you should receive an email from them within 2 days with your login details.
3. Using the details sent to you via email, create an account with AVITS.
4. On your profile, start an application, answering all the questions including the questions that would ask if your last application was a rejection and if you have been to the USA before.
5. Your answer to step #4 will determine if you would be invited for an interview or you will drop off your passport.
6. You would be required to pay your visa fees which can be via card or cash. Note that you would need a USD denominated card for this or follow the link and pay online through First Bank Plc.
7. Should you pay via First Bank, you would need to wait for 24hrs for your payment to be recognized, relogin and conclude your pending application. Note: Card payments are instant, and you can conclude the process in 1 sitting.
8. Should your application be successful, your passport will be dropped off at the embassy.
9. Create a profile with OIS to track your passport and schedule a pickup using the OIS platform. From the 5th of October, a pickup fee will be charged.
10. I wish you all the best! Please what is the next step after scheduling my appointment date? |

Unfortunately, card payment can only be in USD. I'm using Access USD card but not going. Kindly share the bank's card that has been successful in the past. |

* You will be charged in USD if you use card to pay. Paying with card (if successful) is the fastest , and allows you to continue with your appointment booking , almost immediately after payment confirmation. However, first bank payment option is kind of most efficient, though might take 24 hrs to approve your payment.
2. You will open AVITS profile for one of them , and book appointment for them separately on the same profile, as there is no more group bookings. The remaining is a game of luck and calculation in using the 3 - Reschedule lifeline to match their dates.
3. You will chose payment option on AVITS first. If you chose bank payment, you will have to print out the payment guide (to be tender physically in the bank) , and proceed with the payment . You have to visit AVITS and chose payment option before proceeding with the payment.

I am not sure you will get the answer to this question. Yes, the website says you can pay with a card and it is the fastest option. Personally I tried several different cards of which none worked, before I eventually gave up and used the option of transferring to First Bank. Milito:

Hello @OyoTunjiUSA, you are correct in that I did not try all the bank cards available in Nigeria. I actually used foreign cards and one of them was from Bank of America and yet it still did not go through. If a dollar denominated card from a bank in the U.S. itself did not work then I don't know what to say. There is no doubt that AVITS has experienced a few teething problems since it was launched in Nigeria and the payment process has its own issues; but hopefully all the kinks will be worked out as time as goes on. After trying to pay by card for about two days I realised that the time I thought I was saving was in fact being lost so I went with the First Bank option and that went smoothly. Perhaps my experience will be of help to @Milito and others who are attempting to pay with their cards. Cheers. OyoTunjiUSA:

π€ @naivasha1. I did not doubt your story, but the way you narrated it can discourage others from trying Card payment. Cards, having been issued from American banks does not mean a smooth ride, some stronger security websites eg Alibaba, Amazon, Worldpay, etc can decline any genuine Card, regardless of issuing bank or country, if you are using it (especially) for the 1st time.2. I agree with you that AVITS is experiencing teething problem, and it is still undergoing development, but AVITS payment server is tailored on the paths of the likes of Alibaba, Worldpay, Amazon etc. 3. Anyways, let's alight from the trailer of argument and do our best in liberating prospective VISA applicants. Few Nigeria - tailored bank cards will out-perform BOA card or some foreign issued cards, especially on African servers.π |

Thank you Dasayo for your immense contributions on this platform. I have a quick question, how can applications of two people traveling together (78 yrs and 14 yrs) be combined so that they can have appointment and interview together even though the DS 160 form have been filled separately but of course indicated that both would be travelling with one another? Please your evaluation thought of experience on this matter would be appreciated. |

Many thanks. I decided to try the EFT payment for my spouse before going back to resolve mine and I was able to successfully pay with the EFT option. Do I need to indicate the deposit details afterwards? At the section marked on my attached pic? if yes, please which is the bank deposit slip number? Is it the entire code under the barcode on the payment receipt? Or just the numerical ones. |

Milito:
Many thanks. I decided to try the EFT payment for my spouse before going back to resolve mine and I was able to successfully pay with the EFT option.

if yes, please which is the bank deposit slip reference number? Is it the entire code under the barcode on the payment receipt? Or just the numerical ones. Wait 24hours |

Glad to hear that you were able to make the payment for your spouse. I believe that section where it says 'Bank Deposit Details' is meant for those who physically went to First Bank to make a cash payment and that doesn't apply to you. When I went through the process I had no need to do anything there. What you should take note of is the Proof of Payment slip. You should have downloaded the pdf when the payment was complete. In the event that you weren't able to do that, then check your email. First Bank will have sent you a copy of the payment receipt. Don't forget, you will need to wait for about 24 hours before you can proceed to book an appointment. Milito:
