OkpaNsukkaisBae: That's why I asked that you read and immerse yourself in the topics and issues before making arguments on-the-go. Your androhumanoid buddy has been going off about mainstream media and western propaganda so I'd use a news article from Al Jazeera which is anti-West. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/exclusive-russia-nato-plan-joint-operation-on-syrias-chemical-weapons-idUSBREA1D0Y3/ There was calls by Middle East countries for a no-fly-zone in Syria in 2015. In 2017, Russia proposed a way to implement it (not Russia) and Turkey and Iran thought it made sense. The UN supported it. The U.S. was skeptical but didn't oppose it. (This is stated in the article.) By 2017, Obama was gone, and Trump was POTUS. Trump's election campaign was always about withdrawing troops from the Middle East and deescalation. --- You claimed it was NATO who wanted a no-fly-zone. But it was the Middle East and Russia. And the U.S. didn't oppose it except being skeptical. To make sure everyone was onboard, Russia even banned itself from the no-fly-zone. Assad did too. Everyone did. See why you shouldn't make up arguments? |

DissTroy: US senators like John McCain, Graham, secretary of state Hillary Clinton, German Chancellor Merkel all proposed for a no fly zone in Syria. Putin said Russia is not against a no fly zone but they NATO MUST do that with the consent of the legitimate government of Syria. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/us-senator-graham-calls-for-no-fly-zone-in-syrias-idlib-idUSKCN20L36M/ https://www.dailysignal.com/2015/10/20/why-a-no-fly-zone-will-not-work-in-syria/ https://www.the-american-interest.com/2015/10/20/no-fly-zone-no-answer-for-syria/ |

OkpaNsukkaisBae: On this thread and in other such back-and-forths you are notorious for changing the premise of your arguments. Your earlier stance two pages back was, the U.S. wanted , a no-fly-zone but Russia stopped it. I showed evidence that it was Middle Eastern countries which called for it, and, in 2017, Russia proposed plan with no opposition from the U.S. To drive home the point, I posted an article by Al Jazeera which is as pro-Russia as it is anti-U.S. To turn around when you have been entrapped by your own snare of peddled falsehood to something else is crazy. NATO enforced no-fly-zone in 2011, Russia's protest regardless. By 2017 when Russia (with Turkey and the UN) finally imposed a no-fly-zone post Obama, Trump was president. And Trump never pushed for any military incursion into the Middle East while he served as POTUS so what was the basis to oppose no-fly-zone in 2017? Think! ---- And you have to pick a side. You can't keep calling what you don't agree with from Western media propaganda then rely on evidence from same Western media to corroborate whatever point you think you are making. 1 Like |

DissTroy: Clearly, you haven't followed the trajectory of the issue on this thread. It is expected. You have been dormant for months. And without having a clear handle on things, you're interjecting with a sliver of information that does not get at the heart of what the debate is about. This started as a topic about the the degree of carnage, some would call it genocide, that Israel had been meting out on Gaza following the horrific events of Oct. 7. I and a minority on the thread--Amoto, Oasis; decry the wanton destruction. Opining that they've gone above and beyond machinations that any objective person would describe as proportional. The vast majority, nihilist, obaino, sod, raum, Ibime; see things very differently. I have been unable to extract a concession from them on what would count as too much. When would they accept that Netanyahu or whoever replaces him has gone too far? Killing more women and children than all conflicts over the last 3 years is not an problem. So what is? Nuclear weapons killing everyone in the twin Palestine regions, Lebanon, Iran? What is too much? The ICC clearly believes Netanyahu has gone too far. He has an outstanding warrant. Nations like Canada have cut back on arms delivery. Josep Borrell, a Russia hawk, and FM of the EU has denounced the genocide. That is the background of this issue. Nihilist and co took it further. It isn't just enough that there are no moral or legal concerns with Netanyahu killing entire families in Gaza. He can also kill anyone who opposes him inside or outside the region. He is the Fuhrer of the ME. No King, No President. No PM. No where on Earth is untouchable. Netanyahu could kill President Xi and yell "I am a Chosen" at the camera and China will cower before him. Nihilist pushed this position with the helicopter crash of President Raisi. The brigade ran with it. Every time a figure in the Resistance is killed, even when there is precedence of nation states assassinating paramilitary heads across the worlds, they turn into a bevy of drunk ladies backpatting each other and attempting to snide at anyone who is on the opposite end of the debate. I have pushed back at this. Because they're off their rockers. PM Rabin of Israel was killed like a dog on the streets of Tel-Aviv in 1995. The murderer was an Israeli. That is the precedent that keeps Netanyahu awake at night. What you interpret as me bragging is a crash course on the global pecking order and where Israel and especially its disgraced PM sits. The Romanov Tsars expelled and heavily curtailed Jews in the 19th century. Alliances shift. Agreements dissolve. Whatever armistice exists between the Jewry and Russia can just as easily be terminated, if Russia's interests are f*cked with. History did not begin in 1947. I only care about a State of Palestine. It is a moral issue. Heck, it is even a Pan-African issue. Apartheid in all its forms must never be allowed to exist. The Israeli right believes it can run out the clock. But I prefer to be on the side of Mandela, the Irish, the Norwegians, the Spaniards, and the vast majority of the global community. I consider it a disgrace that we're letting paramilitary groups with terrorist history lead this defining fight of our generation. But if you want to dickride Netanyahu, be my guest. A State of Palestine is inevitable. -Lord 6 Likes |

DissTroy: Your argument is flawed because even though economic trade & transactions is essential for the survival of a State, national interest is the supreme factor that determines the behavior of a state in the international system. From January to May 2024, the US were still paying millions of dollars buying Russian uranium. This is the same country pressuring EU countries/firms to stop trading with RussiaRussia. Same country that imposed multiple economic sanctions on Russia to cripple her war effort in Ukraine. Till date, Russia is still crediting Ukrainian bank account for the transit of Russian gas via Ukrainian pipelines delivering gas to other European countries. If we're to believe your flawed logic of " Trade & follow the money politics " , then Russians and Ukrainians will not be killing each other. E never reach two weeks sef when Russia shot down about 14 Israeli missiles heading to strike Iranian affiliate groups in Syria. |

reccy: 1. Israel bombed Hezbollah Headquarters to smithscreen 2. Israeli forces took out Nasarallah that has not been seen in public for a considerable number of years. Other top hierarchy Hezbollah guys were also taken down as well in the process. NB: Nasrallah has been Hezbollah defecto leader since 1992. A lot of Gen Z Hezbollah members and sympathizers probably knows him as the one and truly chosen one until Israel set a date with him and his virgins. 3. Israel keeps pounding each and every location of Hezbollah within Lebanon where they are launching offensive attacks from and it's still ongoing.. What does "fell" mean to you? 🤷♂️ 9 Likes |

LordAdam16: This is the most important factor. Not the importation of vegetables from Israel and the money politics he's talking about. Wetin be vegetables? Russian gas/energy export generate the most revenue for Moscow. Some of the pipelines pass through Ukraine. Ukraine is paid handsomely for the right of transit. Yet hundreds of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers have perished at the battlefield. If Nelson Mandela were to be alive, dumb and ignorant Nigerians will call him a terrorist sympathizer/extremist for supporting an independent state of Palestine. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae: They are all operating on the assumption that the current disposition will exist forever or that it has always been that way. Russia will sacrifice its interests in the ME because of vegetable. The rubbish you read on NL. When the Spaniards and Irish support Palestine, they go quiet. But when people of their own stock support Palestine as is consistent with the Pan-African worldview, they become venomous. Very funny folks. -Lord 2 Likes |

LordAdam16: When, Spanish people and Norwegians defend Palestine, Lebanon they will say it's freedom of speech, right of expression. But when their fellow countrymen from Nigeria support Lebanon, Palestine they will tag him as a terrorist sympathizer/extremist. Is that not mental illness? It's even worse, when citizens of countries like US & Australia where Hamas and Hezbollah is listed as a terrorist organization march in solidarity for Lebanon, Palestine waving flag belonging to terror groups. The same dumb people will tell you it's their "Right", freedom" while calling you an extremist/terrorist sympathizer for showing sympathy to Palestine. Meanwhile, some of these people also justified the arrest of protesters waving Russian flag in the August protest. |

LordAdam16, you stated Canada has "cut back on arms deal to Israel in protest"? LOL. I've advised you to ALWAYS follow the money. Here's Al Jazeera exposing how Canada is sending arms to Israel through proxies just 6 weeks ago. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/8/15/how-canadas-off-the-record-arms-exports-end-up-in-israel The U.S. is still sending weapons. France, with all of its grandstanding and seeming opposition to Israel, is still sending weapons to Israel. The E.U. is complicit too. Whatever line the U.S. tows, NATO always follows suit. It's the U.S. perfect cover. I'd ignore your appeal on the morality of war. After October 7 with the unwavering support amongst Hamas sympathizers to the carnage in Israel, you lost all rights to gaslight. Right on this thread I'd quote posts by the folks you mentioned justifying the murder of Israeli women and children on October 7. Your emotionality is lost on me. Forget the rhetorics and look below the surface. Follow the money always. Saudi Arabia and NATO are in bed with Israel. I have posted links over the last few days to corroborate my claims. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:43am On Oct 01 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae: If you read well enough (as you would like to claim), you would know that Mandela was criticized by those on the far left who deemed him too eager to negotiate and reconcile with apartheid's supporters. Yet again you keep comparing apples to oranges when u equate the South African situation to Palestine’s’. The South Africans were never presented with a two state option from inception which they turned down. For the umpteenth time , the Palestines chose war when they could’ve coexisted side by side with the Jews. They chose war instead of peace and they’ve always reaped the fruit of their decision up till date. |
