Direction16: 🤠 Pick the relevant ones and overlook the extra-jabs. Every question that is being answered is not only for the poster, it is being answered for the use of upcoming applicants. * Therefore, i used the extra explanation to tell the incoming/future applicants to be well- guided. 🙏 |

Chally111: 🤠 * Public discussion on Nairaland is 100% better than those groups you are looking for. And if you don't post your transcript, then you are adding salt to your injury. * Nobody dislike you on Nairaland, but when you asked a question that was or is not replied to, then you need to re-check the question (s). * I see you as a desperate & determined poster, in which if anyone tries to give an honest answer, you will come out attacking, by giving excuses to back yourself up ( as in the case of @jackiz on page 59). 1. On October 06, at the eleventh hour ,a day to your interview ..you came to ask what you should tell the CO if he or she asked why going for an associate degree ? 2. On Sep 10th, you posted on NL that you have deferred your Admission to Jan, 2025, and that you wanted to choose betw Drexel or Lonestar colleges. I think someone advised you against the move, having seen the lapses. 3. On Sept 11th, you posted that your interview is closed by (perhaps a determination to go and give a try). 4. On Sept 14th, you posted a long personal drafted transcript, which is filled with complicated lies and already determined answers and asked nairalanders to help you review. 5. On sept 27th, you posted that your school recommended Duolingo exam in order to prove your English proficiency (perhaps the annotation is on your I 20). 6. Now, you were just denied today , and you have posted again that you are looking for an emergency appointment ? * Experienced Nairalanders, assist me in giving him or her the best advice (s). 🙏 1 Like |

lionlee216: 🤠 * How will you feel, as a company CEO, going through a job-seeker's Résumé, and in the education profile you saw ; after primary 1 - i continued my education from the University? 1. Tell your friend to focus on MSc and use all his educational achievements (ie SOP, Recommendations, work/volunteering or internship experiences etc) in realising the goal. There are more than 4,000 Universities in the USA, therefore, he can look for more by sending admission cum funding query to school departments or admissions office. 2. Yes, he can do PhD directly, but is he an 80 year old man? Well, may be b/cos i am used to discouraging fast-track lifestyles which takes away the enjoyment and originality of life. 3.. If your friend has graduated with superb CGPA, and a track record of work-experience or internship with lecturers or professors during his undergraduate years, from a reputable federal or State University, and especially (as an additional credit) from any of the 5 EYE, with few selections from Europe, ie Germany, Switzerland etc, then he can apply for PhD directly. However, the feat has it's disadvantages, so i will recommend he focus on MSc. 🙏 |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 8:52am On Oct 08 |
Chally111: 🤠 * You are actually right. But my reply is meant to refrain you from wasting your sister's hard earned money, and to refrain you from piling up complicated DS-160s at the USA Embassy's disposal, and finally to refrain you from developing BP. I don't respond to questions that entail teaching anyone how to lie or cut corners (openly) in a public forum.. It is against USA embassy and Nairaland code of conducts and ethics. That was why not only OyotunjiUSA, but nobody responded to your self-made transcript. No matter how far you have gone on a wrong way, turn back now. Don't pay for another MRV yet. USA is not running away 😊 🙏 |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by BornToSucced(m): 10:14am On Oct 08 |
OyoTunjiUSA: I would advise him to calm down, re-strategize, and not be too desperate. Also, I would advise him to be honest with his transcript, without which, the VO may sensed lies during his interview. I like his determination, but let him relax and get things in order before scheduling his next interview. "By strength shall no man prevail" 2 Likes |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 12:05pm On Oct 08 |
BornToSucced: 🤠 @BornToSucced 1. Thank you. But the college recommended (according to the OP) that he should or he must write Duolingo, and it seems the annotation is written inside his Form - I20. How is he going to handle that aspect in the 2nd attempt? Or don't you think the consular will read that aspect ? 🙏 |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by BornToSucced(m): 12:35pm On Oct 08 |
OyoTunjiUSA: @OyoTunjiUSA He must address the language requirement, unless he chooses to ignore it and proceed with scheduling the interview. The language requirement was clearly indicated in my Form I-20, though I was granted an exemption in this case. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 1:02pm On Oct 08 |
BornToSucced: 🤠 * Thank you on his behalf. I am certain he is getting some information right now. It's like the college want him to attend the interview with the Duolingo result, since you can get it very quickly. 🙏 |

Vanjori:You may face challenges getting into top-tier US universities , but don’t lose hope. There’s always a way out. I strongly recommend you write Gre exams and here are some universities with flexible GPA requirements New Mexico State University (NMSU) - Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 (some departments consider lower GPAs) 2. University of North Texas (UNT) - Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 (conditional admission possible) 3. University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) - Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 (some departments consider lower GPAs) 4. Wichita State University (WSU) - Minimum GPA: 2.25/4.0 5. Old Dominion University (ODU) - Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 Pertaining to universities with free tuition waiver, I only know of 1.University of Wyoming (UW) - No application fee 2. South Dakota State University (SDSU) - Waives application fee for international students Additional suggestions: 1. Consider community colleges or online programs for a semester or two to improve your GPA. 2. Highlight your strengths: research experience, projects, certifications, or relevant work experience. 3. Prepare a compelling Statement of Purpose (SOP) and letters of recommendation. 4. Research assistantships or scholarships to fund your studies. Hope this helps. 1 Like |

OyoTunjiUSA: But this is not right of you guys i talked about this but u guys kept mute its when i have been denied thats when u are now hanfling my issue. Duolingo is not indicated on my i20. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Chally111: 4:37pm On Oct 08 |
When am calmed i will write out my transcript but now i have contacted the embassy and they said i can still book if i did not see any reason for denial. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by RealTrump: 5:42pm On Oct 08 |
OyoTunjiUSA: I use Duolingo too, in fact, I think almost all schools accept it right now. You can write 9 duolingos for the price of one TOEFL or ielts. Also, it was not in the i20. i20 only said English was satisfied. But I have also heard it affects your ability to get TA...not RA. 1 Like |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by RealTrump: 5:50pm On Oct 08 |
Chally111: True @bolded. I think you should post your transcript or at least write it down now before you forget. What if the reason you thought you were denied is not the only reason for denial? Broader opinions help. |

RealTrump: Am still licking my wounds Ok on the interview day it was stressful as Bleep and all the people for f1 who i met at the abuja embassy were denied. They was a girl she cried her eyes out it was really sad. After seeing pink paper flying everywhere it was my turn. The vo ask where am I going to I told her Next she saw my i20 and ask who is this, Does she resides in usa I told her yes She asked her profession I told her She asked what will u come back to do u I told her I need to come back home as the first born of my family and I intend to apply to a good community hospital Haven't completed my statement she gave me my pink slip. I felt she feel I don't have home ties since my sponsor is in us cause she stressed who is my sponsor So now I am looking forward to changing my sponsor to my uncle who owns a hospital and book another appointment |

Good evening. Please, I tried to fill DS-160 today but after filling out some information, saved, and coming back to retrieve and continue it was showing incorrect ID. I did not copy and paste the ID cos I screenshot it. I carefully typed it but it was showing incorrect ID. Then I noticed that just below the application ID, there's expiry date showing as 9/30/2024. Can someone please explain to me what the issue is. Thanks. |

Good Evening everyone I joined recently and really I'm getting good information on this platform. I got admission to a Community college in the US and my interview date is next month. I'll like to get brief on likely questions and appropriate answers. If possible get transcripts from those who have attended. Will it be a red flag if one of my sponsors is based in the US? My father is the major sponsor. Thanks for sharing your ideas |
