It's a 60 days pause why are you panicking that someone wants to sanitize something so that those that need this aid have better access ? I don't want to believe you work in that sector oo..Trump is a smart thoughtful man

Compare this post of yours with the trash you first posted, any relation or similarity? I'm neither an HIV patient nor a health worker but I'm not ignorant of the scourge of HIV and the roles of free medications over the years

This means that Antiretroviral drugs that's almost free of charge would experience a significant increase in price. And considering how the economy is, most people might not be able able to afford it for a long period of time.

Imagine spending between 50k-100k every month on Antiretroviral drugs for the rest of your life.

This is not the time to be randy. Stick to your spouse of abstain from sex if you're single.

I doubt it's that expensive really.

Slowly slowly with this, countries would no longer have to respect the USA, and it'd just be like any other so-so European country, "dead", "buried", forgotten. Just another developed country with technology like Switzerland.

Perhaps with this, Americans' pride would lessen because America would no longer be known or a popular nation. Eww!

America is what it is not because of weapons, not even remotely because of dollars, but the respect that almost all countries in the world has for its big brother-ness and often gives its diplomats and everything freer passes. Talk about self-destruction. America needs more Donald Trump. đŸ˜…

USAID has suspended funding for its operations in Africa and other developing countries. Hope this does not affect those working in the NGO sector, the US is one of the largest donors for humanitarian causes worldwide including the WHO. Many states in the Northern part of the country rely on NGOs to survive.

Anyone in HIV programs in Nigeria’s medical sector is automatically a big man

Compare them with those in the malaria programs which is even more prevalent and you'll realise it's just grand fraud. No one will get a chance for the two and opt for malaria instead of HIV
Could you explain the nature of the corruption in the HIV sector you're alluding to.
Like what's going on there that you believe is indicative of corruption?

Too bad. Population of HIV careers will increase, just watch out. Why do African men love $ex so much?. Some illiterates think the HIV statistics are fake in Africa, dig deep and you will know it's true. Just ask any health personal working in the hospital.

I will never believe in a lifetime that a person like Trump will win US presidency. But that’s testament to how bad American tax payers a tired of their common wealth being used to solve problems in other nations.

If you look carefully , all Trump is asking is that citizens of every nation to hold their leaders accountable: be it Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua or Nigeria. The tribe, race or gender of the president is not important here.

Mind you there are many poor Americans that donut have quality healthcare and Trump is saying that’s where his priority is.

With all these respect you talked about and half of developing countries love and respect China more. Half of developing countries wish the death of America. No worry China will pick up the bill. Only a foolish country will love either China or America or Russia
I don't believe they love China. They appreciate China. China is yet to seep into mainstream media. Once China or Russia or whatever country becomes the go-to destination for fun, financial services, games, technologies and whatnot quality of life, leaders would love it. And China grows more in military technologies, and capable of defending itself and poses as at least 70% independent in military self-defense, your political leaders and their relatives would naturally love the China, and diplomacy with them would be freer. Should China then couple it with free monies here and there, the ministries would prioritize any China-related items in their queues.

Just be the go-to for quality of life items and destinations, pose great military strength and have foot in other countries (through aids or whatever) and have a great share of the mass media, you're the leader. Check all great empires.

And US? US isn't loved because it's become a bully. Even the Americans are seen as ignorant, arrogant and proud.

USA is tolerated, not loved. And now, they'd have no reasons to tolerate it anymore cause there's no more benefits for them - no money, no aid, nothing.

No Country grows with negativist citizens.

Your other point is null. Do you know how costly HIV drugs and medications are? Do you know there are over 2million Nigerians getting aided by this funding?

So, you'd rather they all struggle and perish just because the institution is supposedly corrupt?

See thinking

You're talking to fuktards. HIV medications can cost up to $20K annually without any financial aid. These fools have no idea what the US gas has been doing for them ever since but if it's what they like, let them have it.

How about we look at this from another angle - the American angle, that is.

See, on the scenes of international politics, no country does anything entirely for charity. Trump, here, has been implying (long before now) that the US of A has been doing a whole lot for other nations and is having little to nothing in return. He has cited numerously that instead, some of these countries antagonize its international policies. It is not unexpected for Trump to halt funding to societies that won't support America's course.

Recall his Make-America-Great-Again slogan; he is all about prioritizing America and Americans over other countries...and this is exactly a fantastic attribute of any president.

Now, let's look at this from the Nigerian perspective. Question is, over the decades since the first diagnosis of HIV was made in Nigeria, if our government were responsible, shouldn't we be able to stand independent in providing care for our PLHIVs today? We, like other African societies, are neck-deep in being "welfare-dependent." Our leaders have repeatedly failed to be responsible for the citizens they claim to lead. They have failed to prioritizing healthcare. Since 2000, the budget allocation for healthcare has remained less than 5%. See healthcare allocation in serious societies in 2024: USA, 17.6%; UK, 11.3%, in Australia, 27%. Why is the Nigerian story different?

Let's not look at this from the viewpoint of a victim. To ensure neutrality of judgement, if you analyzed this situation as a third person, you would find that Mr. Trump has done no wrong, and this is exactly what any meaningful president should do - prioritize his/her citizens and country. Rather, Nigeria should send delegates to Washington to expressly convey our deep gratitude for the good the American government has done to us over the years.

Now, am I excited that the USA has paused (and possibly terminated) PEPFAR because I did not support Tinubu? Absolutely not! This would be outright childish, evilish, and wicked of me! But, it is what it is, Trump is in the right here. Let's all gather in prayer and hope for two or three things: that the POTUS would permit PEPFAR to continue, that our leaders would acquire more sense and humanity, and that God would continue to preserve our collective health as a nation.

Trump and his wahala. I wanted to throw a bag of face mask away yesterday. Then I remembered that trump is now the president. I immediately changed my mind and now keeping the masks till he completes his tenure.

If he had not disbanded the pandemic team placed in far East Asia when he became president during his first tenure, what we would have had would have been endemic to that region and not turn to a global pandemic like COVID 19.
