avuekwe: You guys should shut up and this trashy thread closed.. The environment in which the beans is cooked is always so dirty and unhygenic.. Coupled with the fact that the bromate filled bread produced from one substandard local bakery.. I was born in lagos and I tell u wholeheartedly that there is nothing fascinating about that mealWhat a joke. The market you buy your foodstuffs from is unhygienic, the place you buy your suya from is unhygienic, the country you live in is unhygienic. Shut up and stop being so darn hypocritical. |

Ewa Agoyin is best enjoyed when it is cooked for house hold cunsumption and as part of menu in a party. Honestly speaking, i pity those who buy this beans when it is being cooked for commercial purpose. I grew up on Lagos Island and lived among the Togolese who brought this delicacy to Lagos, infact they occupied half of the compound where i lived and they are specialist in preparing this meal if they really want to. They initialy started well and that was when the beans became the darling of many Lagosians. Unfortunately, greed sets it and the high rate of cutting corners to maximise profit makes them at times do the unthinkable against the good mind of the unsuspecting public. How many of you are aware that at times they cook white beans and use tonic grass (a local herb that emits red colour when cooked and you can get it at the local herb market)to turn the beans colour into brown .This is the period they add more palm oil to your beans with little stew. In some instances they cook a mixture of white beans and olo 2 mashed together with the left over from the previous day. And presently what we have on the street of Lagos is EWA KWARA being hawked by Kwara girls and claiming it to be Ewa Agoyin. Anybody can cook ewa agoyin once you can mash the beans and get the right recipe for the stew. THOSE WHO HAVE EARS....LET THEM HEAR 1 Like |

bidex: well, its not available in the rich people zone because good food is not meant for the rich people. good food is for the poor. we enjoy it daily at Osodi, Ajegunle, Bariga, Somolu, Mushin and many more hoodlums. All the rich knows to eat is fatty food. but we poor eats balanced diet. check out the combination The rich eat only stones and iron. *rolling my eyes* |
