Tara sat crossed legs on Jordan's desk, she frowned at her husband.
'Tara, you've got to eat something'
'No, I'm not hungry'
'Then take something. Maybe cornflakes?'
Tara had other things in mind. She moved her head towards Jordan. Her clothe was cut low at the neck. Jordan found himself staring at her full bossom.
Tara left his desk and sat on his thigh. She hungrily kissed him. Jordan couldn't help himself. Tara's lips were as sweet as honey. Soon, her bosoms were bare. He stared hugrily at them.
'No Tara, you've got to eat. I've got to introduce you around and no, you are my wife. I won't make love to you here'
It took Jordan all of his self control to finally pull back Tara's dress.
'Okay, I will take milk, if that will make you happy'
'thanks, my sweet', Jordan called his secretary.
'come to my office immediately'
when she arrived, Jordan retrieved some money from his wallet and handed it to her.
'please get me a big tin of powdered peak milk'
She had seen Jordan with different women. He and his wife looked so perfect. Seeing Tara in person , she realised for the first time that the rumurs about her employer's wife might be wrong. The girl looked so young and innocent.
'Okay sir'
There was a shopping mall across the road. She hurriedly went to get the milk. As soon as she left, Tara smiled up at Jordan.
'I like her'
'I like her too. She is happily married with two kids'
'really, she doesn't look it at all', Tara said in amazement.
'I have a meeting by 2pm. I will tell the driver to pick you up by 1:30pm'
'okay', The secretary returned with the milk.
'Thank you, just keep it on the table. You may keep the change'
'Thank you sir, but Sir, I just received a call from David's school. It seemed he is ill and I am needed'
'you may have the whole day off. Go home and take care of your son'
'thank you sir, but sir, Mirabel has lost her father. She has gone for the Burial'
Mirabel was her assistant. Lovelyn wandered how Jordan would cope without a secretary for a whole day.
'don't worry about me. I shall cope'
She left his office and hurriedly left the company.

Jordan plugged some water in an electric kettle. He poured it in a mug for Tara and added enough milk to it.
'Now, over to you', Tara sipped the milk.
'Its a little too hot. I need to relieve myself. When I return, I promise to drink it'
'walk down the corridor, go left, you will see a door with a tag on it 'private' is written boldly on it. Thats my rest room. You should relieve yourself there'
'come on Jordan, be a gentleman and take me there'
'your wish is my command, my lady', Jordan led Tara away to the rest room.

Amanda tiptoed into Jordan's office. She saw the milk in a mug. Only Tara would drink milk this morning. She dipped her middle finger inside and quickly removed it. It was hot. Just what she wanted. She had earlia crushed the pills into powder. A dose won't do for Tara. Amanda poured the crushed pills into the milk and stired. She left the office within two minutes. No one had seen her go in or out...or so she thought.

'No Tara, take the damn milk', Jordan said in annoyance.
Tara picked the milk and gulped down everything without even looking at it.
' Now shall we?', Jordan asked her.
Ten minutes later. She quickly refreshed herself and reapplied her make-up. She soon found out that the building was divided into sections. They visited the electrical section first, Jordan proudly introduced her and Tara remained calmed and composed. At the architecture's sector, Tara began to fill funy. She felt weak and drained out. A sharp pain engulfed her.
'Jordan?'
Tara cried in pain. He saw the pain in her eyes and turned to face her.
'Tara, what is wrong?'
She threw up the milk she had earlia drank on Jordan's perfectly polished Italian shoes. Everyone sared at her. Tara went on her knees, clutching her stomach, she let out a loud scream.
'What is wrong, Tara?'
Jordan went on his knees and held her. A tear dropped from her eyes. She fought for control as she fall into Jordan's arm and welcomed the darkness that overtook her.
'Tara, damn you, don't bail on me'
Jordan said in tears. He didn't even realised that he was crying. The manager of that sector picked his phone and put a call through for an ambulance. No one saw Amanda smiled.
Jordan watched as Tara was transported to the ambulance. Hundreds of eyes watched as the ambulance drove away. Her scream had caused quite a stir.
Jordan picked his car keys and followed the ambulance to the hospital. What in the hell happened? One minute his wife was happy and chattering, the next minute she was in pain. He arrived at the hospital and halted at the parking lot. Jordan gawked in fear as Tara was taken to the emergency unit. He tried following but a nurse stopped him.
'Where the hell is the doctor?'
'what is your name?', a nurse asked.
'Jordan Nicholas. Thats my wife, her name is Tara and she is ten weeks pregnant'
'calm down, sir. The doctors are on their way'

Joel had just arrived for the afternoon shift. He sat down and began thinking of Maureen. She was becoming rebellious. His door suddenly swung open and a nurse ran it.
'good afternoon Doctor. I'm sorry, although its not yet time for your shift, Dr. James seek your expertise in handling a situation.
'What is wrong?', Joel asked.
'A patient has just been brought in. Its an emergency case'
'brief me', Looking at her pad, the nurse replied,
'I really can't say. It seemed very serious'
Joel quickly went on his feet. He followed the nurse as she led him towards the emergency ward. He met with two othe doctors at the unit.
'brief me', he told them.
'A ten weeks old pregnant woman might have swallowed some pills to induce miscarage. This case is very complicated. Only you can do something about her', Dr. James, another obstetrician told Joel.
'Is she Married?', Joel asked James.
'yes, she is'
They entered the unit and found a girl...no, a woman, lying down. Her clothes had been removed. He walked closer.
'Tara?', He exclaimed.
'Do you know her?', Dr. Stephen asked.
'Yes, she is my patient'
Joel knew he needed to calm down and control his emotions. He shouldn't be emotional, he couldn't afford to loose control now. He gazed at the unconscious woman before him. She was unclad. His body began to tremble. He had to do this.
'Shall we begin?', he said as he set to work.

Jordan paced up and down the hall. He looked his rolex wristwatch for the hundreth time. Why was everything taking long? No, he couldn't and won't bear the agony of loosing Tara. He got so many things to show her and so many places to take her.
'God, please save her for me', Jordan prayed.
Nurses trooped in and out of the unit in haste. Jordan had cancealled the meeting that was to take place that day. Finally, the doctors came out. Jordan quickly went to Joel. He seemed to be incharge of the case.
'Doctor, how is she what happened? Can I see her?'
Joel looked tiredly at Jordan. They had spend a greater part of three hours working on her.
'Lets talk in my office'
Jordan hurriedly followed Joel. At the office, Joel looked up at Jordan and asked,
'Is these a reason why your wife would want to take a pill that would induce a miscarage?'
'Are you kidding me?', Jordan asked in annoyance.

As Jordan was talking to Joel on Tara's case, a heavily built man was sitting in a beautifully furnished office in far away Lagos. He had so many things in his mind. How could a woman just disappear? Kelvin Samson asked himself. He was about fourty five years old. A knock came at his door.
'Come in', he called out.
His secretary had earlia informed him of his visitor's presence.
'Good evening sir', the visitor greeted.
'Any news?'
'Sir, we have finally found her', Kelvin went on his feet.
'Are you sure?'
'yes sir, she has been living a quiet life in kaduna'
'you mean she had been in kaduna state all these years?', Kelvin asked.
He had been searching for her for more than a decade.
'Sir, the bad news is that she died recently'
'But we first sighted her three months ago'
'yes sir, she just kicked the bucket, but sir, we've also found her daughter'
'wow, thats good. What is her name?', Kelvin asked anxiously.
'Tara Nicholas'
'Her daughter should be twenty four now. Hope she isn't married?'
'She is married to Jordan Nicholas', Kelvin choked.. 'Are you serious?'
'yes, sir'
'If Tara is really married to that ruthless builder, then we have a serious problem in our hands', Kelvin said gravely.
'Anyway, keep an eye on her. Watch her every move. I want to have a weekly report on her'

'What are you saying?', Jordan asked Joel in confusion.
'Is there a reason your wife would want to abort her pregnancy?'
Jordan thought of Tara. She wouldn't do such thing. She simply didn't have that heart. He looked up at Joel.
'Tara can never do that. She might be anything but not that. She won't even hurt a fly talk more of her own child'
'your wife had ingested a substance that had induce a miscarage'
'Dr. Are you sure?'
'Tell me something Mr Nicholas, where was your wife prior to her attack and what had she eaten?'
'I took Tara to the company. I wanted to introduce her to my employees. We were together all through the day. Because she woke up late, she didn't fave breakfast. At the company, I insisted she take something. She finally consented to drink milk'
'That milk was poison with a substance to induce miscarage', Joel told Jordan.
'But how came? My secretary bought the milk. I personally unsealed it and poured it for her in a mug'
'Think back, something must have happened'
Jordan desperately tried to gather his scattered wits.
'oh yes, I boiled water for her to take with the milk but she complained that it was a little too hot for her. I took her to relieve herself'
'That must be the time she was poisoned. What about your secretaries'
'Mirabel lost her father, she travelled home while Victoriah was informed that her son was ill. I gave her the day off.
'Mr Nicholas, I will advice you to invite the police into this. Tara hasn't lost her life, but she lost her baby'
Jordan looked blankly at Toel. The thought of loosing Tara made his body trembled. Who would have been so callouse as to do this to her?
'Mr Nicholas, your wife had a miscarage but she is still pregnant'
'How?'
'we realised that she was carrying twins. One fetus got miscarried but the other one miraculously survived. Although i don't think we should lay down our guide, she might have another miscarage'
'Thank you Doctor. Can I see her now?'
'you can'
Jordan left in search of Tara. He found her sleeping peaceeully. Seeing her, Jordan realised just how much she had suffered in life. Rage, raw rage overtook him. The culprit could never go scot free. He vowed to find him no matter what it would cost him.

Jordan had called an emergency meeting. The directors and the assistants of each sector were available. He watched them all, intensively.
'yesterday, in this bulding, someone tried to have my wife killed. Her drink was poisoned. Now listen, take this message back to those under you. The person or persons involved will live to tell the tale.
I won't rest until the culprit is found and when that happens, the only way the person can escape from me is if he os she go six feet under. I, Jordan Nicholas shan't forgive the culprit. I will hunt him down with so much ferocity'
Jordan paused. He was trembling in anger. The people present at the meeting felt sorry for the culprit. Seeing Jordan Nicholas, none of them wished to be in the culprit's shoes.
'I want you all here to compile a list of all the people present yesterday, both staff and visitors. The security secor should provide a security camera to my floor. You are all dismissed'
They all scrambled out of the board room. They each have alot to do. Compiling those lists won't be funny at all.

'Jordan what happened to me?', Tara asked.
'you had a miscarage, but worry not, our other baby survived'
Joel entered the room.
'Tara you need to rest. You are going to be fine.
Tara smiled at the good doctor, he smiled back. Jordan glared at him. He didn't trust the man with Tara.
'You should be home tomorrow. You are now strong'
'Jordan, Can we talk in my office?'
'wait, doctor, why not talk in my presence. Afterall, you two will be discussing me and don't forget that I have been here for a week'
Joel fought the urged to take her into hhs arms and kiss her. He hurriedly left before her husband red his expression. Jordan went after Joel to his office.
