That golddigger (freecocoa) upsets me.

This is NL.

Do you expect people to pander to your emotion?

Being the weekend, some are typing after consuming the sixth bottle of big stout.

If you cannot take the heat on NL, do not comment. Or better, browse in "guest mode".

I see nothing in what she said!! The guy had two, why can't he help someone he claims to love. If I was in excess of something my love needed why wouldn't I give it to him? I wouldn't even hesitate.

You men are constantly talking about how you want women to support their men but complain about a man supporting their woman. I'm not talking about support as in taking full responsibility of a person but little things. Would it kill him to let her use one? If it was the other way round half of you wont be saying the same thing!! I'm sure she would see no issue in him using her car. E.g. If he asked her for money and she doesn't give it to him would you guys comment, is she your wife? Would you say get your own and stop being a liability?

You guys ruin your relationships before it even gets anywhere by assuming the worst in a person! Always trying to avoid being the "maga" rather than just loving each other and trusting your partner. Him letting her use his car is called kindness and being a gentleman.

She's not his wife.

Your BF is not your father or mother to provide u with best things in life! The goodies or gold you are demanding from ur BF should Ve started from u and ur family.. It's not BF job to provide u with luxury and fantasy life your parents failed to give u.

Why can't we? I can share my car with my friends let alone someone I share my most intimate thoughts with, I must be from another planet with what I'm reading on this thread.

Really freecocoa , you'd be willing to share your car with your boyfriend or you're only saying it just to appear benevolent.
Re: How Do You Define An Independent Woman?. by Nobody: 8:46pm On Nov 08, 2014
An independent woman sees what she gets from d man as just a bonus cos she relies solely on herself, though not saying she cant ask things because we can't shy away from giving in relationships. An independent woman won't have the mentality of calling his man stingy because he refuses to give her one of his two cars, giving you his car is a priviledge and should not be seen as a right, and if he doesn't it shouldn't be a big deal.

Rich guys don't makes noise, they only state facts of their wealth when their financial condition is challenged. Which happened to me.

If you were following my conversation with that golddigger, you won't make that dumb comment.

I'm rich and so what? Don't hate me, hate game.

When did i state anywhere that it is my boyfriends job to do that. Also I did not once use the word job/responsibility or imply that in my post. Nor did I say I have ever demanded things from my boyfriend. My parents have provided with more luxuries than I can imagine and I as my own person can do the same.

I think you should learn to read

freecocoa I know you're a good girl but can you honestly say the same for other ladies , I believe you have the heart to share with your bf what is yours and wouldn't mind even getting a car for your bf if you have. The thing is most ladies out there don't have that magnanimity , the poster who elicited this thread wouldn't think about sharing with a bf if she has. The mentality out there amongst ladies is if he can't spend on me no coochie for him

I am the poster who elicited this thread, and because of 3 sentences you believe I have never shared a thing with him, that's hilarious. If you have any idea what we've both been through, u wouldn't say this. I have said enough about myself.

Independent- you can take care of yourself .
.
Firsteva's account was that he had two, then he should give her one when she did not contribute anything in buying the car and has not put a ring on her finger. That's stupidity sorry to say.
.
Instead, the normal thing is asking for his permission to use his car on few occassions.
yet he can bang her when he didn't contribute anything to bring her up and has not put a ring on her finger nt 2 talk of taking her 2 d alter. Smh

My definition - A woman who can carry her own weight n hold her own, earns her living, maintains n sustains her lifestyle, with a high dose of self confidence, self worth n self esteem.

But in essence, no one is independent.....we all need someone to lean on! Esp in a relationship, u give up d "I" for "We"
My humble submission

Freecocoa; don't get worked up over that car thread because the truth is that what you read on Nairaland is very different from what obtains in real life. Real life relationships; except they are fraught with greed and selfcenterdness, are usually symbiotic. Bf helps gf and vice versa. But online they come here and make noise about how she is not his wife so its very wrong to do anything for her. Start a thread writing of your intention to withhold financial assistance from your poor boyfriend and watch them scream for days about how you are a liability because you don't improve his life. That's just the way of things on this site and I don't know why maybe cos there are so many children or so many introverts online....... Real world is different.

Basically, a woman who doesn't live like a uni-cellular organism. A woman who mostly can do without parasitism, symbiotism and other dependent behaviours mostly seen in disease causing organisms.
Make I flex, make she flex then make we flex together. No be say she go dey clingy or dey bill me like say I be her foster father.

Is she not also banging him? Did he put gun in her head before banging her? And why do women always want marriage even when they have nothing to offer?
Re: How Do You Define An Independent Woman?. by ice234: 7:14am On Nov 09, 2014
So he isn't sharing his body, his time, his brain, his energy with you?
The question is what are you bringing to the table. If it just your body, then .....
Think of something else to offer other than your body, cause anyone can offer it as well. Be an asset and not a liability.
freecocoa:
I come dey wonder, if I can share my body, my time, my brain, my energy etc with my man, what then is a 'ducking' car?

Re: How Do You Define An Independent Woman?. by ice234: 7:32am On Nov 09, 2014
FirstEva case was way off it, she tagged him selfish for not sharing. You see she has already judged him. She might be his side chick,.
freecocoa:
I'm not talking about shameless, jobless beggars my sister, I used firstEva's case as an instance(although I don't know if she's jobless sha) but I'm talking strong, smart, hardworking sister reaching out to her man who is more than capable to help when you need it who in turn might also need help one time or another, ofcourse it doesn't have to be an everyday affair.

The way people go about this stuff makes it look like it's a taboo, hence this thread.

Majority of men are just noise makers and braggarts. Take what they say seriously at your own peril grin. People that can wash their gf clothes and sponsor her recharge card bills from 100 to 400 level will come online and be forming no-nonsense hard guys. Abegii.
