tartar9: Hehe.... Muslims and hilarious logic. I bet it's all these twisting of things that lead to certain sects believing that killing is the way forward. The Pope, the very head of the Roman Catholic church went for a prayer in a well established mosque. You asked what's so special about that exhibition of peaceful coexistence and I asked how many Muslims ever go to church to pray. And you're back telling me about would-have-been or was-once churches. Obviously relying on granny stories. What happened to today churches? Pope John Paul II did something similar to what Pope Francis has just done; all to show you the extent to which Christians would go just to live in peace with you. How many of your well placed clerics know their way to the church? Don't tell me stories of the past with no proof. I have mentioned Pope John Paul and Pope Frances, tell me the names of Muslims in similar position, the church they went to, when and proof. Not was-this or would-have-been-that. I'm not here to clash with anyone. If Muslims have shown such regards for peace, educate me and let me appreciate it. Maybe then, we can discuss the way forward. Meanwhile, let us all learn to appreciate good things. Actually, bro, I was surprised when you asked what's so special about the Pope praying in a mosque. Does that not sound like some sort of paradox to you? What else would you want, he converting to Islam? Hehe... C'mon, dude. |

tartar9: Well, I never asked where they CAN pray but where they HAVE prayed. Btw, the Pope never gave a condition before entering the mosque. Fact is, he did what Muslim top guys have not and might never do. He exhibited the height of tolerance. Let's appreciate that simple fact, it won't hurt us |

rckdude:my church is not Catholic, but i have to say the truth the way it applies practically. be not equally yoked together with unbelievers. do not imply that christians should not make friends to non christians. it says, christians should not worship other gods. the pope didn't go to the mosque to worship God through Muhammad , he went there to signify his solidarity to Islam. and to encourage Muslims to worship their Allah, he did it by bowing. if you still think the act of bowing is the same thing as worship, then you should have a rethink, because, right from the day christ ressurected, and in christianity, worship has gone beyond mere act. worship (also known as to worship in spirit and in truth ) simply means to live your life in a state of grace by believing in Jesus, that he is the coming Messiah. john 4:23 which the pope himself has accepted, no amount of bowing down can change that |

paxonel: But the Bible says if ur liberty would make a brother that Christ died for to fall, you should restrain yourself. The pope's liberty of worship would make others to shake in faith. Tell me, can the pope freely call the name of Jesus Christ in that mosque? And I still think our opinion differs, from the tone of ur write ups, it seems to me you believe we serve the same God. Well i respect your opinion on that. But i don't think we serve the same God and that is why I keep asking myself why the pope had to encourage a muslim to continue to serve his Allah, shouldn't the pope be converting them to Christ? (And by converting I don't mean demeaning and insulting their faith.) Don't get me wrong I respect muslims, I have relatives that are Muslims, I respect their religion but I don't accept it. If they could also respect our faith in Christ and stop killing us, the world would be a better place. But this ain't gonna happen, they persecuted Christ, so a true believer should also expect persecution. |

Burmak:: LMAo: so you are this retarded. Pls stop been dellusional cause same way u don't want to be muslim, we also don't want to be misguided. La kum deen nukum wal yedeen which means to u is ur relegion and to me is mine. What kind of pope support gay marriage. Even this catholic sef are christian racist, they see theirselves above every other form of christianity and you are hear saying nonsense.. Let me strike your thought... This is a verse of suratul baqarah( the cow): 87.And indeed, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him withRuh-ul-Qudus[Jibrael (Gabriel)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed. The Holy Quran acknowledges Jesus(Peace be upon him), Mary his mother, zacheus his uncle, david, moses and a host of others.. Why can't you research for that reason.. CNN, politics, USA and the likes has tagged ISLAM as an extremist relegion... Lol it makes people even convert to it more... The bible has been tampered with, most of the words there aren't has they were before. Which kind of book from God has revised edition and different versions... The coming of the prophet was predicted in the bible but some people choose to remove it to conceal the truth from you. I don't see my christians as unbelivers you are misguided... Rome the seat of catholic powers also have a hand in the tampering of the bible. 76.And when they (Jews) meet those who believe (Muslims), they say,"We believe", but when they meet one another in private, they say,"Shall you (Jews) tell them (Muslims) what Allah has revealed to you [Jews, about the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him , that which are written in the Taurat (Torah)], that they (Muslims) may argue with you (Jews) about it before your Lord?"Have you (Jews) then no understanding? How come the quran knows the truth that has been hidden from you?? Go and make research and think 140.Or say you that Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob) andAl-Asbat[the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)] were Jews or Christians? Say,"Do you know better or does Allah (knows better...; that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony [i.e. to believe in Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him when he comes, written in their Books. (See Verse 7:157)] he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do." Read and know the truth... Go and make research the hoy Quran was passed down from people who stored it off hand and was thus free from error 146 .Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognise him (Muhammador the Ka'bahat Makkah) as they recongise their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammadwhich are written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)]. A whole generation of misguided people.. Subhana Allah.. Produce thr proof. If you are sure christianity is the true and one relegion... 76.And when they (Jews) meet those who believe (Muslims), they say,"We believe", but when they meet one another in private, they say,"Shall you (Jews) tell them (Muslims) what Allah has revealed to you [Jews, about the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him , that which are written in the Taurat (Torah)], that they (Muslims) may argue with you (Jews) about it before your Lord?"Have you (Jews) then no understanding? |

rckdude:[quote author=rckdude post=28482539] But the Bible says if ur liberty would make a brother that Christ died for to fall, you should restrain yourself. (And by converting I don't mean demeaning and insulting their faith.) i understand that the pope need to preach to convert them to Christianity, just like Paul did. but the world has evolved beyond all that. it was easy for Paul to take argument into the synagogue of the Jews in those days because, in his days he was among the privileged few educated men. but today, it is not like that. people of this generation have become more knowledgeable, we are very happy for that change, it is beneficial to all. but it makes mere preaching less effective. if Christianity is truly the better religion, which i believe, then let christians shine their light for others to see and glorify God. your general attitude towards unbelievers has the power to covert them than mere preaching, people are not fools anymore, they want to see what Christianity offer, as compared to their local religion. conviction don't just come by listening anymore, it comes by observation. by the Grace of God, thousands of non christians are getting convinced on their own, without anybody telling them anything about Christ, i. know what i am talking, if you have travelled to the US, you will see a lot of things. recent study has indicated that the world's christian population has grown up to 6.64% in the past one decade. all though we are not here to count people. i believe, the process of changing the world should be at God's pace, we shouldn't fight people to change, let them judge by themselves. killings and persecution is a sign that Christianity is doing well. because, it is frustration that makes people carry arms to fight, to advance and impose their religious ideology to people. i wount encourage any christian to do that. rather, let our light shine, and the only way we can shine is to change our ways. there are so much atrocities in Christianity as I'm talking to you 1 Like |

paxonel: To start with your statements; "world has evolved beyond all that" and "people of this generation have become more knowledgeable" are excuses proponents of homosexuality put forward to support their immoral behaviors. I agree the world has changed, culture have evolved, information is ubiquitous and there is more freedom to live as we please. One thing hasn't changed. God hasn't changed. Our God is the same God he was during Paul's generation, His word is still active and living, sharper than any two edged sword...it discerns the very intents of our heart. Paul was an apostle to the gentile world and not the Jews. The gentile (majorly Greeks and Romans) were more knowledgeable and advance than the Jews. But we didn't see Paul entering their pagan shrines all in the name of converting them. He stood his ground, he didnt compromise. When Paul went to Ephesus he didn't enter the temple of their goddess before the Ephesians believed in him and burnt all their pagan books and stuffs. The Pope claims to be from the line of the Apostles, why isn't he following the examples laid down by his predecessors? Oh! the world has evolved right? Yes I agree with you that people want to see what Christianity offers, if i were born a Muslim i would also want to see what Christianity would offer me. But I don't think the way to show what we offer as Christians is to show the world that we support their pagan worship because we as Christians are tolerant. If thousands of people are converting to Christianity its because they gave room for the Holy Spirit to convince them, I don't think they would be converted by seeing the Pope worship in a mosque (even if you claim he was worshiping Jehovah). This would rather confuse their new found love for Christ. Judaism wasn't a popular culture during the time of Moses to the reign of David down to the last King that went on exile to Babylon. When Jesus came and brought the new covenant, Christianity still wasn't a popular religion, the disciples were killed, jailed and beaten. they didn't compromise their faith. Why should our own generation compromise? Why should we run to their place of worship just because we want them to stop killing us? We are making the devil to rejoice by doing this. May God bless the soul of all the true Christians who have lost their lives in the North and every other part of the world. |

Rilwayne001: Whats wrong with the new testament? They are both from the same Spirit and in the same book. So whats your point? Well this is one verse in the old testament that clearly depicts Jesus, the promised messiah as God. Isaiah 9:6. Not just God but Mighty God. Rilwayne001: Your words are always with you and what you say tells us who you are. Your Words define you. Rilwayne001: You are quoting out of context there. He meant his followers cannot escape persecution in this world cos they are not greater than Him who went through so much suffering. John is a direct witness of Jesus' life ministry and the life of Christ here on earth will be buried if no one writes about it. Who are those more qualified to do this than His disciples? Rilwayne001: I don't know what you are talking about here. What i see are quotations of scriptures out of context. Rilwayne001 post[=28476108] Yes. Absolutely. Rilwayne001: Well, that's wrong cos Paul was chosen by God himself And the other apostles were able to recognise that same Spirit at work in them working in Paul to unto the gentiles. [quote post=Rilwayne001 post=28476108: Can you validate your point about Jesus being God with the words of Jesus himself without that of his apostles since the servant his not greater than his master? Out of context again |
