I know exactly how you feel Tonye. I was devastated too when I learned same. I'm going first, later this month, and my hubby will come visit next month and hopefully stay till I'm done. No way we can stay apart for too long. (Newly weds fever still got us). All the best and I'm more than willing to let you know how we get on. TONYE001: 1 Like |

jojcanada: Wow! So nice of you! Thanks ma'am. It's quite a difficult decision to make but it's worth it, I must say. I wish you success in all and please, try to let us know how you get on when you can. Again, success all through... |

Moukafoam: no Offence, posts like this are mostly ignored. Let's see Edited: couldn't stand the silence. Depending on the course you are going for, many schools in Canada accept international students. Check 'www.aucc.ca'...another assignment for you. Or google your question. Peace |

YoboTerry:I think it doesn't take long unless they are busy with their current students bcs international offices in schools are mostly busy. It is faster and easier to send your application documents to someone in Canada or in the same school you want to help you apply. In this manner, they will hasten your application bcs it will be submitted directly to them and not email which they forget or delay to process most time. It takes me a max of 2 weeks to gain admission for someone. |

Hi guys, Need your help with these questions: 1. What is/are the major differences between colleges and universities? 2. Are colleges generally less expensive compared to universities? 3. Does applying to a university instead of a college increase my chances of being awarded a study permit? Thanks. |

Good Morning house, justwise, siga, Arams, redribs and lilsypicy and anybody that can help, please is it advisable to move funds for payment of fees after med call up for the payment of fees as time is running out before the deadline of the sechudled date. This is after medicals av been done before the request for pp. Wishing all those awaiting admission, med call up and TRV, May Allah (SWT) make it possible Inshaa' Allah. A'amin. 1 Like |

sidnigga: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bxn93qog3sdur6l/AADT_T7OnwwC-AncweksJiXma?dl=0 That is the whole folder. It goes without saying copying it verbatim would be risky. Just use as a template. |

Vycta: Abeg no stalk the lecturers ooo... It is not everyone that has a research group before getting admission. Infact, most people do not. But if you insist on getting a supervisor before admission be ready for a lot of "email snubs" and you also need to widen your scope of unis. Do not just focus on one Uni. The fact that UofM profs did not reply you doesn't mean you should not go ahead and apply. Also, if you have a guy in that Uni, tell him to put in a word for you. There is no full proof template of email to send for a prof to reply you but just keep it short, be specific and polite. State your research interests. Show you have read their profile and some of their papers, ask if they have space for a MSc or PhD student (which ever the case may be for you) in their research group for the upcoming semester. May God crown your efforts with replies and admissions. Cheers! |

Dear House Masters, please advice. I want my wife to school in Canada( Fanshawe college< Ontario London) to be precise, to study Food and Nutrition Management but the course is 2years programme. I just want to know the advantage of studying 1 year programme and 2years programme. because I got same course in George brown which is 1 year. Please advice please. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by pchax: 9:41am On Dec 08, 2014 |
Bamjazzy: Glad I could be a source of inspiration. Below is the broad summary of steps I took: 1. Got a list of the "top 30 schools" in canada. Google it. 2. Checked the comp sci departments of each school and filtered out schools based on my own personal preferences. Eg. I did not want to write GRE, so I removed schools that needed GRE as part of their admission requirements. 3. Trimmed down the list and started sending mails out. 4. Caught the attention of a Prof and we corresponded for up to 2 months before she agreed to be my supervisor. 5. Sent application for admission to school and I was accepted and assigned a supervisor and research group. 6. Did some research on TRV applications (read a lot of SOPs on different fora, went through CIC rules etc ) while gathering my documents. 7. Applied for TRV online sat through the long anxious wait. I guess the rest is history. Just allow God to guide you in each step cos the way I did it would not likely be the way you should do it. Wishing you the best. Cheers! |
