Henry120: Yet again you dont know what you are talking about Kodani is being held by the Kurds against ISIS Kobani was about to fall when the bombing commenced Since the bombing has started it is still holding out despite being besieged on 4 sides, ISIS on 3 the Turkish border on the 4th Kobani has turned into Stalingrad for ISIS with the loss of (realativly) massive ammounts of manpower and material with limited gains, while the FSA has been able to make inroads against ISIS in other regions and an ISIS offensive against Bagdad was stopped dead. So, in actual fact, Kobani is a shining example of the effectiveness of PGM's and multi-role fighters deploying them |

jl115: You cannot use your own brain logic to interpret an essay until the writer spoon feeds you like a toddler. Does the same source explain what each of the over 20 listed weapons/equipment of the JF-17 does one by one? The source says the JF-17 has both HMS and HMD combines as HMS/D, the HMS part is used for targeting, but as a Soweto mumu, you need to be told in abc language what the HMD part is used for because you think HMD means Home Made Donuts....Mumu Domingo ![]() ![]() . |

jl115: JF-17 engine is MiG-29 engine, and between MiG-21 and MiG-29 there are 3 different MiG series gone by ! Engine proves JF-17 is based on MiG-29 Fulcrum 4th generation fighter Show me a source that says JF-17 Thunder is based on MiG-21 ![]() ![]() I can show you one that proves you wrong : "The official said, "This transfer of technology—transposing the aircraft systems from the J-10 to the JF-17—is what makes the JF-17 so cost-effective". The use of computer-aided design software shortened the design phase of the JF-17." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAC/PAC_JF-17_Thunder JF-17 is a mix of MiG-29 Fulcrum, J-10 Dragon, and the other newly created unique featured of JF-17 itself, like the never-seen-before wings @Pateches deemolished ![]() ![]() . |

AugustineAgain: Rooikat gun was developed from the Oto Melara gun, not a copy of the gun and is accurate at ranges of 1500m to 2000m in direct fire and up to 12km in indirect fire The Rooikat is fitted with a fully-stabilized GT4 76-mm main gun, which was developed from Italian OTO Melara naval gun. Despite it's relatively small caliber this gun penetrates front armor of the most widespread tanks of that region (M-48, T-54, T-55 and T-62) at a range of 1 500 meters. http://www.military-today.com/artillery/rooikat.htm Rate of fire is stated to be 6 rds/min, with the APFSDS-T projectile having an effective range of 2.000 to 3,000 m. It will penetrate the T-54/T-55 and T-62 from all angles of attack. The HE-T round has a maximum range of 12,000 m in the indirect fire role and 3,000 m in the direct fire role. A range drum is fitted as standard. http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product956.html Your "insider source" is a clown whom is well known for untrue and misleading reporting, the same artical you love to quote states that we sold the Rooikat to other african nations... and yet we have not. Her story lacks citations and proof. And you have never been able to find anyother proof to substantiate your baseless claims. I dont post my opinion, and I dont post opinion pieces. 1 Like |

AugustineAgain: Even in close combat JF-17 lacks what it takes to win the fight. Its spine, & wings bearing resemblance(in wing twist & wing area) to a fighter which china knows inside out, the J-7, doesn’t have wing twist nor does it have enough area to provide a low wing loading http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/fighterplanes/texts/articles/jf-17.html 2 Likes |

AugustineAgain: I said based not an exact copy, just like the saaf hawk is based on the old hawk from the 60 and 70, only 10% of the saaf hawk is the same as the old one. http://www.saairforce.co.za/the-airforce/aircraft/40/hawk-mk-120 as for the hmd argument : The village idi0t cant understand that you cant have a HMS and HMD in one aircraft! but let me try and explain to in simple terms: HMD= Targeting+ flight info HMS= targeting As you put it the jf-17 has both hmd and hms. HMD+HMS=HMD because HMD is used for targeting + flight info, not just flight info. and as i proved before useing the source you gave the jf-17s HMS or HMS/D is only used for targeting. dus at this stage it only has a HMS/HMSD. 1 Like |
