South africa has the best rappers in africa! They got swag and the no of good rappers there is numerous...I've listened to a lot of them from magz,da les,AKA,K.O,L-tido,proverbz, and a whole lotta guys that I can't remember their names...they are all decent!..and rap music is well accepted over there unlike here where I've heard some people saying that they don't listen to rap cos they thaught rappers are just twisting tongues and saying meaningless things... Over there, you don't need a good chorus to sell your songs nor a party beat to rap on in order to sell.. 1 Like |

Emaprince: this is the second time i am hearing this... rap music has a big followership in nigeria. when i was in naija, everyone in my area in lagos were obsessed with rap music - and i mean hardcore rap not the bubblegum rappers. |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by Heywhizzy(m): 8:34pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
Emaprince:who is your favourite? |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by Heywhizzy(m): 8:41pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
coogar:you have a point but the level of acceptance over there in s.a is wonderful. .when south Africans talk about their top ten artist, 99% are rapper, only mafikizolo nd a few can give those rappers a run for their money but here in Nigeria, a top ten artist list will contain non~ rappers and 1 or 2 noise makers commercial so called rapper (olamide) |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by coogar: 8:47pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
Heywhizzy: that is because we don't have many naija rappers doing the hardcore rap - they are all doing it for money. the music corporations in nigeria aren't interested in wordplay & punchlines. they just want music people can dance to & this is why the only rapper(modo) that still keeps it real is very broke! the audience is there in nigeria. i can easily say there are more than 5 million rap heads in nigeria but the bad économy hinders the growth of rap music in nigeria. this is why i was hoping to sponsor mikuz before only to find out his face looks like ebola & thus lacks the star quality. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Heywhizzy:I love AKA and K.O..you need to watch "run jozi" by the duo..they got swag and their flows and delivery are top notch..I love KO cos he mix english with their dialect and his accent is funny and good..in a track L-tido featured him,he was outstanding too. As for naija acceptance of hiphop,I'm yet to witness that..maybe coogar came across dudes that love the game just as we in here loves the game but majority don't listen to it..but in SA..the live it,they eat it,they embrace it..smh |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by Heywhizzy(m): 8:52pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
coogar:lol. .but if it's hardcore, Nigerians won't appreciate it d more. .do u listen to south African rappers? |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by Heywhizzy(m): 8:59pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
Emaprince:I love k.o but I'm starting to dislike a.k.a cos his opposition (cassper) is better than him |
Re: NL Rap Battles chatroom by Emaprince: 9:01pm On Dec 10, 2014 |
coogar:now this is the problem! Naija audience doesn't want to nod to any music..they wants a music with beats that matches the current dance style in town..e.g shoki, azonto, alanta etc..if you wanna rap, then you better look for beats that people can dance to and do a chorus they can all hear and sing.. Ibrahimovich just scored..krone and darkrebel. |

k.o outshined aka in his own song..Versace Versace kind of flow is getting rampant in s.a nd it sucks big time. go nd listen to cassper beef nd u would love it one general thing you can't fault in s.a rappers is swagz. .I wanna rock those their top with long socks. .I dunno if it will fit me |
