Compliments of the season

It has become a trend for every thread to be reduced from whatever the OP had in mind to Men versus Women or Feminists versus Anti-feminists etc.

This thread however is to address the Feminists versus Anti-feminists arguments.

I do not understand why every issue has its roots in feminism... from a husband is cheating to wife not clean to children been rude. Some posters open threads with 'I know feminists will support the woman's wrong deeds bla bla bla' and yet they still want objective posts on that thread. Some anti-feminists know that feminists are 'old bitter divorcees/singles/unhappily married women' and will still bother to reply feminist's posts. You have a different view? feminism! You expect accountability from men? Feminism etc.

Once you are known as a feminist, it does not matter what you post; it is feminism talking. Let an anti-feminist cheat and a feminist cheat; the feminist sure did so because she is one; the anti-feminist clearly did not do it because she is anti

I am anti-gay and anti other things. I see no sense in commenting my stance about them on every thread or opening threads about them. As a Christian, my Bible says they are condemned to hell yet I do not go about ranting about it on every thread.

You know feminists' marriages never last? Why drink panadol for someone else's headache?

What I find extremely amusing is 'I believe men and women are different but equal; equal social, political and whatever rights for women yet I am not a feminist' Try I believe Jesus died for our sins but I am not a Christian . Another funny matter is that fact that 'all feminists should behave the same way'. Deeper life members have a uniform they wear, do not wear earrings, make up etc; Mountain of Fire members do not have a uniform, wear anything as far as it is decent, do not make up; RCCG members make up, wear earrings, trousers etc. (depending on personal belief and parish); Christ Embassy do not cover their hair etc. yet nobody has come up to say Deeper lifers or MFM members or RCCG members are not true Christians. Some Christians see nothing wrong in alcohol as long as one is not drunk (I think alcohol is wrong) etc. Yorubas do not have a uniform culture or language yet all feminists must be the same or they are confused

Anybody who does not know the definition of feminism will do well of looking it up in a dictionary. Those who know and see people practicing something else should tackle those people and not feminism.

Agreed but that's goes both way too,i just think family section was meant to educate,advice and support every issues concerning marriage,kids,family etc...but recently it has become very childish....romance section is no longer conducive for them,so many kids around here...

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.I also noticed anytime a lady speaks her mind which goes against a group of ladies's posts,she is seen as an enemy or she is seeking for men to cheer her up?like seriously?We can't think the same can we?We all have different backgrounds.Same applies to the men,when a guy is on the ladies's side.

Family section isn't fun anymore,too many bias arguments and gang up.....SMH
I avoid commenting in most of the threads these days,no point really....

@bold: I am yet to see a feminist say A, B, C commented XYZ way because she is an anti-feminist if she does not take a jab at feminists subtly or otherwise

I have spoken against the mainstream and I have never been said to support the men; when a lady comments against the flow WITHOUT taking a jab at other ladies or talking like she is on a higher moral ground, she will be avoided or quoted and yabbed on her own.

A thing or two can still be learnt or fun gotten from the whole rubble

Feminism has no clear definition, it's a subjective word. The above totally captures my own PERSONAL stance. However, I also believe that in a man and wife relationship, hubby is the HEAD! Feminism does not entirely agree with that point. Feminism does not even like to embrace the differences that cut across both genders, irrespective of how glaring it is. Feminism does not believe in gender roles, I absolutely do! So, dear bukatyne, I'll be a bastard to the cause if I say I am a feminist. I am not a feminist but the man that will cheat me cos he has a diick is yet to be born!

The last I remembered, feminism has a concrete definition and that definition does not include marriage, look it up in the net. As to feminism agreeing or not with a husband being the head in a martial relationship, I would like to see where a definition stated so.

Agreed but not when it's an unhealthy argument.We can argue without being emotional,personal and mean to each other...I actually learn a lot when people have objective and educative arguments without throwing blows.

It is Ile, Cococandy and EfemenaXY that cause all these things oh.
These women can write big big English and long ones self for Africa. They will intimidate these men who will go and cram dictionary too and prepare for the next thread to show off their newly learned language so to sparj argument they will shout " feminisim " Cococandy and EfemenaXY will start writing and writing and the boys too will start showing off what they have learned.

If only these women will be quiet and enter kitchen like me the word feminisim too will find rest in this section

I do not think you are anything, you already helped me & everyone else avoid the pain of thinking when you declared yourself a feminist?
And for this reason, I keep asking you to tell me about the waves of feminism, and which of their ideologies you support.

I have respected you so far and have not used any words you would term 'insulting'.
You on the other hand keeps getting worked up over simple questions that give even simpler answers (same attitude you displayed on that your thread in the religion section.)
