I love Buhari as a person but I cannot make excuses for him. The man had over 30 years to educate himself and prepare himself for the big occasion but he failed. Gowon went to school and got a Phd after leading the country for nine years. Buhari is the most inactive former head is state alive. Beside his stint as PTF chairman, you can hardly point out what service this man has been rendering to humanity since 1985. Even the council of states meetings, he has refused to attend. he reduced attendance of council of states meeting to a personal grudge. He is not a good statesman.
