Fool. The thousands and thousands of megawatts get used up by households and industry. Eskom has a set reserve margin of power. Meaning if they are producing 40000MW and consumption is at 38000MW for example, they will load shed to protect the entire power grid from tripping. And i repeat, a system Nigeria can only fantasize about.

South Africans survive on candle lights daily, you actually produce more candles than electricity megawatts. True !

One Illovo resident, Elaine van Woudenberg, has demanded that Johannesburg City Power find a solution to their problems especially in view of the cold temperatures this season.“Electricity outages in the area have become more frequent but I think my biggest problem with all of this is that when we get through to the call centre, no one can account for the outage and neither can they help,” said Van Woudenberg.

We all use candles because you say so?

Ok, while you are in fantasy land let me remind you of the facts:

- 60% of nigerians have no electricty at all
- Nigeria produces less than 3% of the electricty we do

Those are facts - 60% of nigerians (nearly 90million people) have never seen a working lightbuld in their lives

The fact is that you produce power and yet your people don't enjoy power, where does all those your thousand thousand thousand megawatts disappear to after production? Looks like it's all a lie, you don't produce all those power levels you claim on fake data websites created to overrate South Africa and deceive the world....ANC kingdom, most foolish country in Africa !

We both live in some darkness.

South Africa is NOT better than Nigeria.

Oh boy Patches, better borrow money to buy 100 packets of candles for 2015.....Ghost darkness is all over South Africa.

This year 2015 South Africans will still be lighting millions of candles as often as smokers light cigarettes tongue tongue

We Nigerians have power back up from electricity generators.....we are more advanced than your candles !

So City of Johannesburg has a final say about how and when will be the load shedding. I gave you the official schedule of load shedding from ESKOM, the official power supply that the Johannesburg work under.

You claim to be living in America yet you don't know what rolling blackout means. Someone who lives in America wouldn't argue like you or else it gives us an impression that you have never even touched your foot in American soil.

Load shedding does not happen in one area( town or city) everytime, everyday. I live in Johannesburg and ever since they spoke about rolling blackouts that would affect the rest of SA, I have so far only experienced it once during the day and that was for 3 hours. Some areas in Johannesburg have never experienced load shedding yet. Load shedding does not happen everyday. Yesterday there was no load sheddings at all in the whole of SA.

Load shedding does not happen everyday every time, it only happens once a week in a particular area or sometimes not. SA is big and load shedding will have to circulate around all the towns and cities of SA countrywide before it can affect one area again. Surely that would be after some days and the blackout would take maximum of 5hours, some are lucky it takes them only 2hours.

Nigeria lives in the dark forever.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 7:33am On Jan 19, 2015
Load shedding schedule for SA, prepared for the dummies like @agaugust to see that it does not happen every day, every time. It rotate on schedule. You can search for every town or city in SA according to provinces and municipalities.

Go to select provinces- Gauteng
Select municipality- City of Johannesburg
Select surburb- Search for Soweto.

Soweto east schedule until month end.

SA produces power to over 45 million people as well as neighbouring countries. America which produces millions and millions of MW of electricity couldn't cope with the demand and had to resolve to rolling blackouts.

Nigeria produces power to not more than 30 million people and moreover their production is not stable. It cannot last for the whole day without being shut down for production to refresh.

@agaugust you are such a loser, your country cannot compare to SA in terms of power supply.

It is not.
Your military operations in the Northern east part of your country, have largely been ineffective.

Unless objectives included enhancing BH's fighting capabilities.

Cause BH is able to take the punches your army throws and still be able to launch ops and capture land.

7 years to fix one battery.

14 years to fix second battery.

21 years for South African navy to fix all three Submarine batteries !

Excellent failure !
.
The sub was undergoing a complete refit. New batteries and other components .

Certain parts took time to arrive delaying the refit.

The navy operates them in rotation, so they'll never be out of sea simultaneously. At any given day the navy Chief of staff has a sub ready to be deployed.

Meanwhile the Nigeria navy's sole combat ship is rusting away, your navy would never defend your waters today if enemy ships appeared.

Court nullifies ban on Abalaka’s HIV/AIDS
vaccine
JANUARY 19, 2015 BY FRIDAY OLOKOR
35 Comments
After 16 years, a Federal High Court in Makurdi,
Benue State, has declared the ban placed by ex-
President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration on
the use of HIV/AIDS vaccine discovered by a
surgeon, Jeremiah Abalaka, as illegal, null and
void.
Justice Binta Nyako in a 32-page judgment
obtained by journalists during a press briefing by
Abalaka on Saturday in Abuja, however, held that
the use of the vaccines must be at the discretion
of the patient.
“The government lined up experts recently during
Ebola outbreak. Everything and everyone that
could contribute to the battle was brought on deck
and Nigeria was the pride of the world and the
people were proud of the government. HIV/AIDS is
also related to Ebola as it is equally a death
penalty on its victims. This should call for
encouragement and not dampening of the spirit of
persons who have made efforts to provide a
remedy,” the Judge held.
The government had banned the use of the
vaccines even when the Editor of an International
Journal, “ The Vaccine ”, has praised his efforts.
Despite the victory, Abalaka said that he had not
forgiven the former President for the ban placed
on his vaccine.
He said, “For me, I think it is a matter of basis;
you can forgive someone or ignore what the
person has done. Obasanjo has not apologised to
me? How does forgiveness for him come up?
Even if you believe in God as I do, we confess our
sins to God before God forgives us. God is
Almighty; even when we do wrong, we go to God
and seek forgiveness.
“Obasanjo has not apologised to me in anyway;
so for me, the issue of forgiveness for Obasanjo is
premature and out of place. I can ignore all he
has done and that is the only option available to
me.”
Abalaka and his hospital, Medicrest Specialist
Hospital Limited, Gwagwalada, had dragged the
Federal Government to court seeking a declaration
that the July 20, 2000 ban or suspension of the
use of HIV vaccine he discovered was illegal, null
and void, because it violates his Patent No. RP
13567 dated July 22, 1999.
The President, Attorney-General of the Federation
and the National Agency for Foods and Drugs
Administration and Control were joined as
defendants in the suit.
He had told the court how he took blood from an
infected person, treated it and re-injected it back
into the person.
“That he did this on himself, using the blood of an
infected person and after three months tested
himself and he is negative,” the court held.
The surgeon had also informed the court that he
had treated infected persons with their consent
and quite a few reverted to negative.
According to him, even though he had informed
the officials in the Federal Ministry of Health of his
major breakthrough and sought their
collaboration, they were not cooperative, but
instead, set up a committee that wanted him to
give them his patent.
Justice Nyako said, “The defendants have not
justified their ban on the plaintiff’s vaccine before
the honourable court…The defendants have not
placed any evidence before the court to show that
the plaintiff’s vaccine has any harmful side
effects.
“The plaintiffs have proved their case and met all
the requirements and conditions for the
declaration and granting of perpetual injunction
they seek. Because the plaintiff’s research and
efforts were nipped in the bud and even by his
admission, I cannot say that what he has
discovered is safe and effective because further
studies need to be carried out on it.”
The judge however held that since there was no
evidence before the court that the guidelines for
assessment of the drug/vaccine had been in place
15 years on and it did not appear that any was in
the offing, “I find that the ban on the plaintiff’s
vaccine was done arbitrarily and thus illegal, null
and void.”
