You know on paper, we look pretty much like a solid team. We've recorded only three defeats and had failed to score in just one fixture in all competitions this season.

But that isn't the real picture.

Lately, we've struggled with form and our performances hasn't been as sublime as it were months ago.

Fabregas dip in form and Costa's inclination to pick up fights rather than find the net has also contributed to the sudden slump.

If there's one thing we're good at lately, it is grinding out results the tough way.

Lastnite was one of those games. We wholly lacked imagination on the final third, the tempo was too slow and our collective performance was below par.

For all PSG's possession, they never threatened much. We were simply naive and complacent, that eventually gave the Parisans the room to punish us through two late set-pieces.

Mou should go back to the drawing board. The boys need to believe in themselves again and arrest this dip in form.

It should be less complaints, less playing the victim, less fights, less defensive mentality and more free flowing football - that was exactly what we enjoyed when the season kicked off.

We already have a laurel in the bag, we need another to make it a successful season.

JM considered even Oscar to play ahead of him even when folks like me will tell you Oscar was not meant for the game.

Last night was a classic case of central midfield being the most important position on the pitch bar strikers.

PSG did not have a single winger. Their wingers were Cavani and Pastore, neither of whom are wingers.

Their central midfield duo of Motta and Verratti are rugged and skilful, and they controlled the game. There was no chink in their armour, no hole in their middle, unlike Chelsea where you can get behind Fabregas or Ramires when he makes a headless run upfield or miscontrols or throway a pass.

Both their midfielders are technicians on the ball, whilst also physically robust - Chelsea only have one player in that mould ie Matic, where any top team need 3 at least - Two on the pitch and one on the bench.

Going back to Nateevs assertion, Chelseas problem was never wingers, afterall Cuadrado is the new Salah. . . . .while Salah is the new Messi at Fiorentina.
